Your paws push against the soft, wet, ground beneath you. You're not sure where you are, or how you got here. Perhaps this is what you get for travelling so far from your territory. You could come up with a thousand different names to call yourself in your head, yet you refrain from doing so.

You raise your head to better scan the area around you.

What was that?

You could've sworn...

You shake your head. No. It must have been nothing.

Perhaps walking out here on your own, in an unfamiliar territory, your mind must be playing tricks on you. You're on edge, or on guard? You aren't quite sure.

You cough.

"Greetings, my child."

You blink, and before you you see a mangled silhouette of a lion.

" "

You jump back, and bare your teeth. You're not willing to admit how much that indeed took you by surprise.

Your ears move back on your head.

"Who are you?" Your voice is surprisingly calm despite everything.

"Does it matter?" The stranger tilts its' head. You're not sure it is even a lion.

You note the strange positions of the legs, you described it as mangled, but perhaps crooked would be a better description? You aren't yet sure, you almost don't want to focus on the stranger.




Vanir stems from a realm that is out of this world and has yet to be discovered. How he originally came to this strange world where the grass is green, and the sky is blue, is unknown to him.

He has spent most of his life as a lone wanderer, as he was cursed from birth - as he calls it. His presence alone makes others sick.

Part of him used to believe that this was something that affected every being, but during his time on earth he has discovered that some beings, mostly those who are mutated, are immune to his curse.

So he surrounds himself with the lions who were discarded by their pride for being different. He finds great comfort in this, knowing that he never again has to be alone.
