Pride Lore
First Ruler: Xantouxu (Deceased)

First Queen: Snowdust (Deceased)


Xantouxu is known as the first king. He was the first lion from outside to enter the Crystal Forest. There he discovered a new race of lions not unlike the common lions of the savannah. These, however, were faster, stronger, and cleverer than the rest. A lioness named Ginger traveled with him but she was a jealous creature and quick to anger. She became frustrated when Xantouxu met a lioness named Snowdust and ran from the forest. Snowdust went on to become Xantouxu's queen and they built a flourishing pride together. While the lions in the forest were superior in almost every way, they lacked structure and society. Xantouxu introduced this to them and many joined the new pride which eventually became known as the Pride of the Evening Star and the governing body over the Crystal Forest.

One of the new lions who came to join the pride was a proud, young, primal male who went by the name of Flintheart. Xantouxu took a liking to him and soon named him his heir. When Xantouxu died the pride went into mourning and Flintheart took the throne. Flintheart was the second ruler of the Pride of the Evening Star and was as ruthless as Xantouxu was kind. His demeanor was cold just like his icy blue pelt and the dark clouds that covered it. His rule was bloody and merciless. It was not uncommon to find parts of the forest drenched in red and for Flintheart to be found washing his paws in a stream, staining it with blood. Pride members began to mysteriously disappear and were never heard from again.

Just before Flintheart passed, Stardust II received a message from the afterlife. She told Flintheart that his sins would be forgiven if he merged with the kindest lion in his pride and took the role of leader again, but learned from the mistakes of his past life. The kindest lion was merely a year and a few moons when Flintheart came to him, asking for forgiveness. The lion, going by the name of Rannoch, agreed. He wholeheartedly believed in second chances and fused his soul, his lifeblood, with Flintheart. The two were reborn into Renascitur. The new lion bore the coloration of Flintheart, but the gentle nature and white mosaic of Rannoch. After many years of ruling, Renascitur finally chose an heir. The little lion was called Dawnbreaker, but was affectionately know as Darbi. He was born to an outside pride and cast out into the wilderness.

The Pride of the Evening Star believes in a system of hierarchy which puts the children of the king and queen in the positions of power right below them. Below the royals are the lions with mutations. The only lion that holds more influence than the rulers is the Stardust. There must be a lioness named Stardust in the pride at all times. She is their connection to the afterlife and the Before. When a cub is born and deemed worthy, she is given a name containing the word star. From her birth, she is trained by the elder Stardust to carry on the title. At the time of the elder Stardust's death, the younger lion will receive the name Stardust and take on her new role. Stardusts are required to have a grey pelt and markings of varying shades of black, grey, white, and sometimes an icy blue. In addition, they must possess eyes that shine with starlight. The lions call these eyes Starshine.
