The pride consists of the four castes: Royals, Nobles, Commoners, Runts
Royalty: The king(queen), their heir (prince/ess), their closest lovers, and the lovers of their heir (on occasion). Some kings will only take on an heir into this Caste. The heir does not have the power to promote any lion(ess) to a royal class without higher ranking approval.
KING/QUEEN(ruler)>KING/QUEEN(lover)>PRINCE/ESS(heir)>PRINCE/ESS(lover)
Nobility: Royal Advisors, Commanders, Apothecaries. All Royals excluding the Heir's lover(s) can promote Commoners to Nobility. Apothecaries can also strongly influence which cubs are labeled as Apothecaries.
APOTHECARIES>ROYAL ADVISOR=COMMANDER
Commoners: Commoners are the basic common folk of the pride. They take on many duties such, the most common labels in this caste are warriors, breeders, broodmothers, and huntresses, though some others may be given different duties and labels. No commoner outclasses another unless a rank of commander or higher has stated otherwise.
Runts: runts are the lowest of the pride ranks. They are never given a true rank or name. How they are treated is dependent on the morality of the Royalty. Typically they are sent away before reaching maturity.
Cubs: cubs can be born from any caste, but all cubs are a blank slate when it comes to rank. A runt could birth a queen and vice versa. Cubs are assigned their positions typically before adolescence.
