~Kings~

Kings are the leaders of the Pride of Floating Land. They are the highest rank and are chosen very carefully by the previous King and Shaman. The Kings have rights to mating and are assigned a specific thing to be a king of biased on their Starlight Name. They are also named after a God to make them closer to the Star Dancers. They may do anything they please. Lastly, they are given a special ability in order to make up for what the last king lacked. (1/1)

~Queens~

Queens are lionesses chosen by the King to be their designated mate and are the third highest rank. Every Queen is said to have originated as a shard that broke off of a meteorite on the far outskirts of the jungle, and was given a form with the help of the Shaman and either the current or former King. Once a new king is appointed, she is turned into a statue, or a "shell". They may do anything they please, although mainly arrange hunting parties. (0/1)

~Shamans~

Shamans are the second highest rank in the pride. They are seen as the doorway between the Star Dancers and the mortal world. Shamans use herbs to heal lions and allow them to communicate with Star Dancers. However, as a drawback for communicating with them, all cubs they give birth to die unless they eat Uzara root before mating. At some point in their life, a Shaman will choose an apprentice to train to become the next shaman once they die. They may do anything they please except mate, buy lions, and arrange patrols/hunting parties. (2/2)

~Subordinates~

These are the males of the pride that aren't the king. May arrange patrols and run errands. (2/3)

~Huntresses~

Huntresses catch almost all of the food the pride has. They are often seen as heroes for their hard work, but can be replaced. May go on hunts, run errands, and mate. (5/5)

~Elders~

Elders are lions that are relieved from any and all duties (aside from watching cubs), as they are seen to have served their time in the pride. They become Elders when they have reached thirteen years of age. They may watch over cubs. (Unlimited)

+Working Class+

Working class lions are lions that are there to breed and/or protect cubs. They are sometimes made rank-less Nobles for various reasons. They may run errands, protect cubs, and breed. (Unlimited)

~Birth~

The survival of a cub is seen as a blessing to the pride. Sadly, the kings are very picky about cub appearances, and will often chase away, or at worst, kill innocent cubs due to their lack of appeal.
When a cub does survive, a short celebration will often be held, with the cub, or cubs, being decorated in specific flowers chosen for them. This type of flower will be assigned to them for life and it is seen as good luck if the lion finds that kind of flower growing in the wild. Even lions that join the pride are given Birth Flowers.

~Newmoon Festival~

The Newmoon Festival celebrates the end of one month and the start of a new one and takes place during the night of the last day in each month. Lions and lionesses from all prides are welcome to share in the festivities. The festival symbolizes new chances.
During the Newmoon Festival firefly filled jars are strung up around the cave system by vines, recent news is shared, vendors are opened for and sometimes by lions visiting, and stories are told and reenacted. Overall it is a time of celebration and joy.


The Pride of Floating Land are a very spiritual pride. Lions that don't believe in the Star Dancers and unwanted cubs are often killed by evil kings as sacrifices.

~The Star Dancers~

The Star Dancers are the good and pure-hearted ancestors of the pride. They are lions that have done noble things for something more than themselves.
Their domain is an island high above the earth, with a beautiful jungle made up of trees big enough for an elephant to fit in. The stars shine even in the day and a silver river flows through the center. When night comes, blue fireflies float about, giving the forest a mystical glow.
The Star Dancers drink from the silver river and eat the boundless prey in their territory.

~The Earth Hunters~

The Earth Hunters are the evil and cold-hearted ancestors of the pride. They are lions that have done horrible things in the name of greed and selfishness.
They live deep below the earth on a mountain made of black stone and sharp spires that rise out of the ground like fangs. Chasms show magma flowing underneath the surface, just waiting for an unsuspecting creature to fall in and melt.
The Earth Hunters drink from pools of lava and eat the loose stones scattered about.

~Current Prophecy~

~Lions~

All of our lions' names have two parts, unless they are a special exception or are king (For example: Xiuhcoate, Lahar, etc.).
Starlight Names are the names lions are given in prophecies.
Then there are the titles. Titles are given to lions by the Starlight Kingdom, or in the case of the Queen, Princess, and Shamans, by the king. Titles either show the opposite of what their name suggests or a hidden truth about the lion.
The Starlight name and titles have 'The' in the beginning. The name to other prides has the first part of the lion's name, while the Starlight name has the second part.

~Beetles~

Beetle names are far simpler than lion names. All names are based on Mythology. Females have names based on mythological objects and places, while males are named after mythological creatures.

~Territory~

Nestled in an enormous and great valley is a lush jungle accessible only to those who are brave enough to climb over the mountains instead of go around them, for this jungle valley is surrounded on all but one side, which leads out into the sea, by enormous, towering mountains.

~Camp~

Placed against the base of the southern mountain and close to the ocean is the pride's camp. While they have no proper walls to protect it, the trees and underbrush are thick in that area aside from a small path that acts as the entrance. For detail into the appearance of each den, look into the caves.

~Important Locations~

The Kioo Falls-The melting snow at the highest peak of the mountain range flows down the rocky slopes, creating a beautiful waterfall and spring at the base. To get there, you must travel through the dense forest that feeds off of it's amazingly fresh water. Behind the waterfall sits a rather large, hidden cave that few lions know about. Inside is a pool of water with a dark, dark secret.
Rangi Ya Cliff-Rising out of the center of the jungle is a spire of stone, thought to have been carved out by a lake that resided there thousands, if not millions, of years ago. Around this spire, festivals are held.
Cove of Mutants-On the shoreline to the west sits a cove. It has beautiful white sand and crystal clear, blue water. Here the mutants of the pride reside in peace and comfort.

~General Laws~

1.) The words of the King and Queen are law.
2.) Every lion is to be treated equally, as every living being is just as important as the next.
3.) Do not take more than you need from the hoard.
4.) Do not breed with anybody related to you.
5.) If a cub or elder is in need then you must help them.
6.) Betrayal will result in being killed.
7.) Only kill prey if it is to be eaten.
8.) Defend the pride with your life, for they are your friends and allies till the end.
9.) You do not need to kill to win every battle. Kill only if it is in self-defense or necessary to protect the pride.
10.) Do not be afraid to request help from other prides.

~Unofficial Laws~

1.) Shamans may not have cubs unless a ritual is performed.
2.) Cubs must stay in or near the camp until they are adolescents.
3.) The entire Pride's well-being is more important than a single lion's.

1.) Only pure pride members are accepted.
2.) You must believe in the Star Dancers.
