The Sa'mhumbha Pride
The region was ravaged by natural disasters for many years, with devastating locust plagues followed by an outbreak of a rabies-like virus which drove the local lion population to extinction. A coalition of two young males from the neighbouring territory, recently full-grown and chased from their natal prides, wandered the borders of the region for quite some time, searching unsuccessfully for a pride of lionesses to claim. However, eventually a wandering female, Mhumbha, took up residence in the area, attracted by the vacant territory and ample hunting opportunities it provided. As more wandering lionesses began to move in from the surrounding lands, the region became claimed as the territory of the Sa'mhumbha Pride (literally "daughters of Mhumbha"), named for its founding lioness and matriarch, and guarded by the two males, Mhlau and Jhovai. The pride is now in its second era, led by Jhovai's daughter Nuru, and guarded by a new coalition of males, Maakho and Mwusisi.

My project is to breed high-stat, high-quality natural lions, which have as many exclusive, special or breed-only attributes as possible, while also resembling real lions. In order to preserve the challenge of the game, I also play Hard Mode and try to keep my pride independent of other players' breeding projects, meaning that all lions in my pride must be bred from first-generation or site-generated lions (rolled kings, custom lionesses, non-chased NCLs, May groupies, Wenet cousins, August studs and raffle lionesses) only. As a result, I do not buy or sell lions, stud to other players' lions, or offer studding or reverse breeding. I am 9 hours ahead of Lioden time, although I will always try to respond to messages regarding trades, branch sales, etc. However, as a general rule I won't accept random friend requests from strangers.

BASES Bases are divided into 7 'naturalness' tiers depending on the degree to which they resemble coat colours found in real lions. While a lion may be considered natural even if it has a non-natural base, the general goal is to focus on Tier 1 and 2 bases. Manes are considered natural if they resemble those that would plausibly be found on a real lion - i.e. they are of a colour naturally found in lion manes, and both the mane and tail tuft resemble the natural shape and texture of those found in real lions, without any additions such as a beard or goatee, ear tufts, or back/tail fur beyond the normal tail tuft.
