BATTLE STARTS!

Battling UI

i9pqjc.jpg

Your profile on the left. Your health bar, and your name!

If arrows are on your side, it means you start first and get a damage bonus. If arrows are on the enemy side, they will start first and get the bonus. On the screenshot it shows I have +2 bonus on STR.

Animal's profile on the right, their health bar and their name!

You can see on the BATTLE LOG what is happening! The latest moves are on top! The battling system is very dynamic and updates instantly, but it's a turn based game and you can plan your strategy!

Moves
Charge - a powerful opening move that deals high damage and potentially stuns the victim
Pounce - an opening move that deals moderate damage and potentially grabs the victim
Trample - a powerful opening move that deals potentially huge damage, depending on the opponent's size
Bite - a standard combat move that deals low-to-moderate damage and has a small chance of grabbing the opponent
Swipe - standard combat move that deals moderate damage
Grab - standard combat move that deals very little damage but has a high chance of grabbing the victim
Pound - a clinch move that deals moderate damage and potentially stuns the victim
Claw - a clinch move that deals high damage, especially versus softer targets
Kick - a clinch move that deals moderate damage that scales up well against large and tough enemies
Strangle - a clinch move that deals varied damage and immobilizes the opponent until they break free
Roar - a warning roar that can make the more cowardly enemies freeze in fear or even run away
Release - release an opponent from a clinch if it turns out to be disadvantageous
Rest - rest a bit to regain health and restart the battle from distance; can be used only once per encounter
Flee - flee the battle
Stats

NPC Abilities
Animals have many different abilities that you can discover during fights, for example Large animals can't really be trampled, Cowardly animals will be more afraid of your roar, while Venomous snakes can kill you very fast with their bite attack... Adjust your tactics to specific enemies to win battles easier.

Other info
- Grabbed opponents will miss more often, but they will try to break free.
- Opponents that are being Strangled will not attack, but will have a much higher chance at breaking free.

General info

Toughest/deadliest opponents give more XP
Opponents in zones below your level have lower stats but give less XP
