Rare markings are always changing depending on what is most recently released, but rosettes tend to be consistently valuable.

Rare eyes:
Dawn

(Eyes tend to be most valuable when combined with something else that's rare, so an albinoid eyed pearl based lion would be worth a lot while an albinoid eyed vanilla based lion might be worth barely anything.)

Rare skin:
Peach

Rare manes:
Pearl mane color
Royal mane shape

Some rare bases are Cherry Blossom, Lilac, Pulsar, etc, and some rare mane shapes are Tsavo, Royal, Pariah, etc.

Some rare eye colors are all hetero eye colors, sectorials, abinoid, emerald, hazel, etc

(I believe a few others like lilac is also popular/rare?)

Rare/valuable/new markings:

Felines, especially feline 4 once it's released
Grit (onyx, dark brown, cream)
Socks (white, cream)
Undercoat (white, cream, gold, silver, fallow)
Points (black, dark brown, brown, cream, onyx)
White Lace
White Cobweb
Rosette (incredibly difficult and mysterious to breed for)
Panther (common enough but valuable)
Siamese (same as above)
Vitiligo (4 hasn't been released yet)

There's probably some more since I'm relatively new myself, but an easy way to find out what might be a valuable marking is going to the stud advertisement forums and looking at what markings have been bolded for extra attention.

Valuable eyes:

Ice
Hetero (any, but especially the blue/green ones)
Starshine
Cognac

Valuable manes:

Regal style
Hallowed colour

(And probably more, but I know those for fact)

Sepia and Lilac are also rare/valuable bases. But Lilac is hard to breed so be prepared to pay a lot of gold beetles for them.

You can tell if a base is good by the genetics most of the time, theres common, uncommon, rare, and special. Bases like elysian and demonic are special which makes them very rare and hard to get
