I love it! A curved line or two near where the top of the muzzle is would go a long way to adding some depth and shape to his maw =3

It's good! did you use reference?
i would say for you to work on proportions of the lion's face, such as the nose in consideration to the rest of the muzzle / head :]

I used a couple open mouth ones.
Okay I'll work on the for sure. This is actually my first open mouth/facing forward realistic sketch so its nice to hear all the opinions!

It's great for a first attempt!! :D I'd also gather some really good ref pics and do what my life drawing lecturer told me 'draw only what you SEE, not what you think to be there' basically meaning, dont just guess where things go, really look and see x
