314f96p.jpg ~!~!~!~ Disclaimer and Information: ~!~!~!~

Yes, I know there are several other topics with information about mutations. However these either don't have pictures or they're actually a project group thread.

There have been new mutations since then and the other threads that I could find also did not show off the Newborn and Young cub stages. Those are just too adorable to not be included in any mutation thread~ <3

If you want to help add to this thread with information, pictures of your pretty muties etc, feel free to PM me or reply here! We'll discuss the possible addition and you'll of course be credited with the information and links provided. Thank you all in advance!

IMPORTANT: Please know that I can't tell you how these pictures were made. I've gotten permission from the admins to post the pictures on the condition that I don't tell people how they were made. Sorry everyone.

This is currently a work in progress ;D

If you're here for the Cutie Mutie Showcase, it was moved to its own thread :)

allvl1.jpg

All previews are shown with Fawn base, Golden mane, Apricot nose and Amber eyes.

Achromia
339n406.jpg

Appears at: Birth
Lethal: No
Affects Gameplay: No

Achromia completely covers the entire appearance of the lion/lioness.
They have a white coat, pink eyes, pink toes and a pink nose, as well as pink accents in the mane, tail and on the inside of the ears.

The lion/lioness will still have their own eye-, base-, and manecolour, as well as be able to have markings underneath the mutation. They will be able to pass these on to cubs, but on the Achromia lion/lioness themselves you won't see their original colours at all.

Melanism
311rq5x.jpg

Appears at: Birth
Lethal: No
Affects Gameplay: No

Melanism completely covers the entire appearance of the lion/lioness.
They have a solid black coat and a black nose. They look slightly darker than onyx coloured lions/lionesses.

The lion/lioness will still have their own base- and manecolour, as well as be able to have markings underneath the mutation. They will be able to pass these on to cubs, but on the Melanism lion/lioness themselves you won't see their original colours at all.

EDIT: Melanism was updated to now show the lion's/lioness' REAL eyecolour instead of the solid black they were before. Everything else remains the same.

Folded Ears
tv00.jpg

Appears at: Birth
Lethal: No
Affects Gameplay: No

Folded Ears is a mutation where the ears are folded down over themselves, giving them an almost floppy look.

Tailless
1581dea.jpg

Appears at: Birth
Lethal: No
Affects Gameplay: No

Tailless is a mutation where the entire tail is missing.
This will also cause some markings, like Black/Gold/Brown Tail, to be invisible. The lion/lioness can still have and pass on such markings though.

Blind
2mev334.jpg

Appears at: Birth
Lethal: No
Affects Gameplay: Yes.

The lion/lioness will have non-functional eyes, which appear grayish. This covers their original eyecolour which will become invisible under the gray, but can still be passed on to cubs.

This mutation affects gameplay. Blind Lions can't patrol or become king. Blind Lionesses can't hunt.

Eyeless
se50s2.jpg

Appears at: Birth
Lethal: No
Affects Gameplay: Yes

This mutation causes the lion/lioness to be born without eyes. The skin and fur lies over the slightly sunken eyesockets without any opening. They still have an eyecolour trait, which they can pass on to cubs.

Eyeless affects gameplay the same way as Blind. Eyeless Lions can't patrol or become King. Eyeless Lionesses can't hunt.

Dwarfism
2dhi2jq.jpg

Appears at: Birth
Lethal: No
Affects Gameplay: Dwarfism lions/lionesses have lower Agility than other normal.

Dwarfism causes the lion/lioness to remain smaller and of slightly different proportions as other lions/lionesses.

Note: they have a completely different lineart from regular lions and are thus prone to "ghosting". For more info on ghosting, scroll down to the bottom of this post.

Polycaudal *NEW*
St0BpEk.jpg

Appears at: Birth
Lethal: No
Affects Gameplay: Unknown.

Polycaudal lions/lionesses have a split tail, complete with hairtuft at the tip.

This mutation is new, the first having been born on the 24th of September 2015, so it's still unknown how rare it is and if the mutation affects gameplay. But at a guess, I think it would have no negative impact on gameplay.

Hybrid: Leopon
b4kLesx.jpg
The Ages marked with the red *, which are Adolescent Male, Adolescent Female and Cub Young, don't have White Underfelt or Mottled Rosette because they haven't been uploaded yet (or I hecked up lol). I will try to update them as soon they become available.
Xylax said he would update the markings soon, after he's had a rest from the no doubt gruelling last few weeks to get all this ready. Thank you for your hard work, Xylax!

Appears at: Birth
Lethal: No
Affects Gameplay: Yes. Leopons have MUCH lower stats and the Males are Infertile.

The Original Newspost on the release of Leopons

The Leopons are called a Hybrid of a Lioness and a Leopard male.
However the game treats them as a mutation, so they are generated the same way as all other mutations. All Lionesses have a tiny chance and the lower their fertility the higher the chance, but it's still a very low chance.
This means items like GMO Cows, Lion Meats and Cotton Root Barks DO work on getting Leopons, as they increas the chance of getting a Mutation in the first place. And sometimes, this mutation can be a Leopon.

As stated before, Leopons have some serious drawbacks.
The first Leopon (this cutie here) had only 35 birth stats, while her mother was around 390stats at time of conception. The father is listed as Unknown, as it's supposed to be some dashing wandering Leopard Male ;) This might also be the reason behind the lower stats, as this supposed Leopard father is probably not a stat-god like some of the King Lions.

Male Leopons can be kinged, but as they are infertile they can't sire any cubs. This means no breeding him to your lionesses or studding him. You can do everything else with a Leopon King you could with a normal Lion, like battle and explore, just not breed with him.

Female Leopons, however, can have cubs and actually have a higher chance to birth more Leopon cubs than regular Lionesses. It is still a small chance though.

First Generation Leopons all look the same with Yellow Eyes, Kimanjano Base, Dudley Nose, White Underfelt and Mottled Rosette.
However, consequent generations of Leopons bred from First Generation Leopons will be able to inherit bases and markings from their Lion fathers, more like we are used to from our normal Lions and Lionesses breeding. This means a Leopon bred from another Leopon might have a different base or more markings.

The new marking Leopons bring to the game is Mottled Rosette and then new base is Kimanjano, which Leopons pass onto their cubs realtively easy (including to their lion cubs I would imagine) but regular Lions and Lionesses will have a much harder time passing these two traits on if they have them.
Mottled Rosette doesn't appear seemingly at random like the Rosettes and Inverted Rosettes we're used to. Mottled Rosette can only be inherited from Leopons

If you're unhappy with their looks, you can use marking applicators and base changers on them! :D

Here are some more sneak previews of a Skyward and a Maroon male Leopon that Xylax posted in chat the day before the 1st First Generation Leopon was born:
Skyward Male Leopon

For the game messages updating on the health of the lethal mutations each day, please visit Ragdoll's Mutation Findings (2nd post).

Conjoined Cubs
2ihpi6v.jpg

Appears at: Birth
Lethal: Yes
Affects Gameplay: Yes

Conjoined Cubs are fused together at the back while having seperate torsos, heads and front paws.

This is the rarest known mutation, as it's only appeared once so far. Sadly that original Conjoined Cubs has died and can't be viewed.
Conjoined Cubs die when they turn 2 months old.

Cyclopia
2ezo082.jpg

Appears at: Birth
Lethal: Yes
Affects Gameplay: Yes

Cyclopia cubs are born with one massive eye, taking up most of their face.

This mutation causes the cub to die on the rollover after birth, making it the most lethal mutation.

Extra Limbs
2ypj8yb.jpg

Appears at: Birth
Lethal: Yes
Affects Gameplay: Yes

Extra Limbs causes the cub to have several extra hindlegs in various stages of development.

Cubs with Extra Limbs die when they turn 6 months old.

Sirenomelia
2n01ytx.jpg

Appears at: Birth
Lethal: Yes
Affects Gameplay: Yes

Sirenomelia cubs have fused hind legs, giving the mutation it's alternate name: Mermaid Syndrome.

Cubs with this mutation die upon reaching 5 months of age.

Ragdoll didn't have the daily messages for this mutation, so I'll add them here:
Birth: "Your lioness gave birth to Cub, a slightly deformed baby. She's unsure if it will survive but it seems to crawl for milk like all others."
1 month: "Cub crawls around using its front legs only. The merged hind legs don't seem to bother it, and it seems to be able to poop just fine."
2 months: "Other cubs this age prance around, but Cub just paws at nearby insects, making it a bit of an outcast."
3 months: "Cub's mom is worried for it - it does not seem to grow much lately."
4 months: "Cub has trouble digesting and hasn't been eating much in the past few days. It meows quietly from pain."
5 months: "Cub passed away due to health complications."

Twin Heads
2aien0h.jpg

Appears at: Birth
Lethal: Yes
Affects Gameplay: Yes

Twin Heads is a mutation where the cub has two faces on a wider head. It has two mouths, two noses and two pairs of eyes.

Cubs suffering from this mutation will die at 3 months.

EDIT: Removed Rarity because too many people complained that they didn't agree with my rough estimates of Relatively Uncommon, Relatively Common, Rare and Very Rare.
So I took them off. Please do let me know when someone manages to datamine exact percentages or manages to get the Admins to tell them.
Until then no rarities or rough estimates of rarities will be displayed.

Ghosting
n46zm.jpg

Ghosting occurs when a mutated lion/lioness/adolescent/cub has a certain marking, but there's no edited version of that marking made to fit the mutation yet. Thus the game will apply the normal version of the marking. This gives the appearance of a "ghost lion" made up entirely of the unedited markings.

In this example it shows a dwarf lion with the correct lineart, base, mane, eyes and nose, but I pretended there were no dwarfism variations of these markings yet for the sake of taking this picture.
(Under White 4, Onyx Brindle at 50%, Leg Spotting Strong Gold, for those who are interested)

zTSobJL.png

There are several items available on Lioden which affect mutation chances, either by raising the chance of a mutated cub in the next litter of the lioness, or by removing a mutation completely.

GMO Cow
gmocow.png

GMO Cows give the best chances of these items to get a mutated cub in the next litter. You feed it to the lioness you would like to try to get mutated cubs from BEFORE you breed/stud her. You will then get a message that she has a higher chance of a mutated cub in the next litter. This will also display on her page under her name until she's bred.

The official description is:
"In response to locust plaguing the crops, humans created genetically modified cattle. Who knows what will happen to lionesses next litter if she eats some of this meat! - [next breeding, high chance of mutated cub but not 100%]"
It's also been stated by Staffmembers that the chance of a mutated cub from a GMO cow is higher than 50%.

Player efforts to get a closer estimate to the actual mutation chance have narrowed it down to somewhere between 60% and 80%. I know this is still a rather wide guess-area but so far results from different topics have varied wildly.
If you have anything to add to this, like a closer estimate of mutation chance, I would love to hear it! <3

GMO Cows are available in the September Event shop for 150 Jewel Beetles. You can also try to buy them from other players via the Trade Center or Branches.

Lion Meat
lionmeat.png

Lion Meats are your second best bet if you want a higher mutation chance. Like GMO Cows, you have to feed it to your lioness BEFORE breeding her for it to have effect. It affects the first litter bred after you feed the item to her.
Their official description is:
"Cannibalism is unnatural enough to cause your lioness's next breeding have a low chance to result with a mutated cub. (Chance is much greater than 1% fertility would have, but lower than GMO cow)."

This would mean the chances of Lion Meat are below 50%. Player estimates so far are somewhere around 30-35%

Lion Meats are available in the January event shop. You can also try to buy them from other players via the Trade Center or Branches.

Cotton Root Bark
cottonbark.png

Cotton Root Bark is the third item which can be used to increase mutation chances. CRB, as it's often abbreviated to, works a little different compared to GMO Cows and Lion Meats.
CRB has 2 fuctions. It's primary function is that it aborts the current pregnancy and starts a 3day cooldown before the lioness goes into heat again. However it also increases the lioness' chances of having a mutated cub in the next litter. It specifically says it increases the chance of a Lethal Mutation as well.

The official description is:
"This herb induces a miscarriage. Lioness will be breedable again in 3 days. Her mutation chance will increase, as well as lethality of the mutation."

So far CRB mutation chances are estimated to be somewhere between 10-15%.

Cotton Root Bark is available from the Oasis for 1GB.

Safou Fruit
safou.png

Safou fruit completely REMOVES a mutation from an existing cub/adol/lion/lioness. It can remove both Lethal Mutations and Non-Lethal Mutations.

The official description for Safou Fruit: "Ancient lion medicine for removing bad genetic mutations from the body. (1 use)"

Safou Fruit is available from the Monkey Shop for 1000sb.

Other useful items for mutations, namely Freezing them permanently onto your account:

Jellyfish
jellyfish.png
"This item will freeze a chosen cub forever in time. It will never age, get hungry, won't be trade'able."
This Jellyfish works on CUBS ONLY!!! This means it will NOT work on any lion 1 year or older.
Jackpot prize from the Slots game. Can be bought from other players.

Turritopsis Jellyfish
jellyfish2.png
"This item will freeze a chosen lion forever in time. It will never age, breed, hunt, won't be trade'able. Buy frozen slots to hold more immortal lions!"
This Turritopsis Jellyfish works on ADOLESCENTS AND ADULTS ONLY!!! This means it only works on lions that are 1 year or older.
Can be bought at the Oasis for 5GB.

Thank you, Crow (#38307), for your suggestion to add the Jellyfish to this thread <3

It got so big that I decided to make a seperate topic for it, where it wasn't smushed down by an ungodly long list of mutation pics and items :P

Compared to other mutations, Melanism is more common than Overgrown Teeth in my experience.
Mutations themselves are still pretty rare though, so perhaps I should rephrase ^_^;

@Shineira are you planning on adding the planned mutations to the list, or only those already released?
