I saw someone mention this earlier, so can't take credit for the ideas, but haven't seen an actual suggestion made and the idea definitely deserves consideration and visibility (if you're the person who came up with it, lemme know so I can credit you properly): some way to incentivize gifting to make it more fun or mildly beneficial to the gifter would bring the focus back around to giving rather than the begging/popularity contest this month can easily devolve into.

1. Gifting Leaderboards
Pretty self explanatory, put up a leaderboard up on the event page to give people a goal to strive for, make it fun. Probably best to give them more spaces than the regular leaderboards, give more people the opportunity to place on them and see where they stand. Maybe have a separate leaderboard for pooping.

2. Stink Bug rewards for gifting
Note: I am NOT saying give out a stink bug for every gift/poop given, but gifting could have a small chance of granting the giver a stink bug. This event already has a really low currency payout compared to the others and I imagine people would appreciate even a chance at earning a few more. If coding allows it, maybe gifting something from a player's wishlist gives a higher chance at a stink bug (though I know a lot of wishlists, mine included, aren't really reasonable enough to be used as a gifting reference since people also use them as personal goal trackers).

Opinions, thoughts, tweaks, and addendums are more than welcome.

I'd like this, I must have gifted 200+ people already (Since I had prepared for this event) and I'd like some StB since it is already slightly difficult to get them

It might also be good to 'structure' the gift-giving somehow and reward people for certain accomplishments, like giving a certain amount in a day, or giving under certain conditions (until you run out of a particular item, for example?). That way even people who couldn't make leaderboards would feel more motivated.
