Per Cake's desires, I did a little test of what I think a purple base could look like. Of course, there are a lot of natural purples, but remarkably, the giant Indian squirrel has strikingly rich colouration in its fur, varying from tans to deep browns and reds which often appear a beautiful purple in the sunlight, so as Cake decided, it'd be a lovely colour for a feasible fur colour for a lion. Cake suggested "Damson" as the name for this base. So here's a mock up of it.
mibltJt.png Here's it without lines.

Now, obviously that one comes with some pretty distinct markings, because of what the squirrel's look like. Which is why I decided to make another purple base that is markingless, and just has the countershade aspect. I've decided to call it dahlia, because it reminded me of the purple dahlia flower.
EDIT:
So since I wanted to do it anyway, and feedback has led this to be a better idea, I edited dahlia a bit. I think this would need a different name, but it's a deeper purple than lilac, with softer saturation, which I think looks nice, if not so bright.

I did add some brown to this like with the damson, to help soften it a bit. If you have a name suggestion for this base, feel free to let me know!

If you like the idea of having deeper purple bases, and not just lilac, please give your support! If you have any suggestions that could improve it, let me know! And if you don't support, that's fine. But the argument against natural colours seems a bit moot with how many lovely and interesting colours we already do have for lions on this game. ;)

Thank you very much for your consideration!
Cordially, Herr

Purple is such a beautiful colour, and the markings are amazing.

Dahlia is a little bright for my tastes, but I adore Damson! Supporting ^.^

Dahlia is a bit too purple for me. I would love a deeper purple base than lilac, but it looks like too strong of a purple, especially on the points that make the whole thing stand out. As for damson, I think it might work better as standalone markings than a base, because it really just looks like the dahlia base with markings on it.

I actually made the damson base first, and then made dahlia afterwards, but I appreciate your input. I'd still like to keep these ones bright, though perhaps another suggestion would work for a less saturated purple?

No purple lions. Absolutely not. No support.

I dont get lioden. No green lions, but purple, red, and blue? Awwwwright.

Also (sorry to double post) if you read the description, the animal is not purple. It's seal-brown. If anything the light is making the fur APPEAR purple. Light shines on a black cat, they look red.

Mammals don't come in purple, it's doesn't happen.

@Jackster, neither does neon pink ie. Cinnabar. If your only argument is that it doesn't occur in nature, it's not a very good point given how unrealistic Lioden is ^.^'

So why shouldn't we have green lions then, hmm? Lioden itself was against that. What's so special about purple?

I wouldn't be adverse to seal-brown that looks purple in places depending on where the light shines, but as it stands now, Dhalia or Damson or whatever you're calling it is to...eh. May as well be the pink panther you've got up there.

https://portraitsofanimals.files.wordpress.com/2010/09/092610-sunshineonmyshoulders.jpg The sun makes certain parts of this black cat's fur appear reddish-brown. The sun could make this Seal colored lioness appear purple. Easy fix.

One, we already have purple lions; lilac. They're an in-game thing, and while it's certainly more subtle, it's still purple lions. Two, they might have something planned for green, and there are plenty of green base suggestions. Which, again, this is just a suggestion.

And yes, I did read the description. Which is why the first one is more brown than purple, just to make it look nice, but also still keep to a "realistic" colour. Though; We have cinnabar and glacial bases. Bright, absolutely not found in natural mammal fur colours. So while I appreciate your feedback, and yes, I should have said they appear purple and are not purple, I don't very much appreciate how you stated it.

Sorry, but I'm going to have to not support this. As much as I think it's a neat idea, I really don't like the thought of a lion mimicking the coat colours of a squirrel. The most contrasting base we have on Lioden so far is Unholy, and even then, it blends together nicely.
This base you're proposing, Damson, has almost no flow, and has very stark changes in colour. I struggle to see how any markings aside from perhaps white ones would look good on this lions. And I say again, I don't like the idea of a lion's base fur colour to mimic that of a squirrel. I don't think Lioden could get more unnatural.

As for the Dahlia base... if Lioden ever gets purple lions, I think it should be a more 'natural' purple. (Like lilac.) Yes, I know we have things like cinnabar, but on a lion, with one or two other markings, it almost looks natural.

Again, I'm sorry, but I don't support these bases.

@Jackster, Easy there, this thread isn't about green lions, it's about these two suggestions. Green lions being rejected and whatnot has nothing to do with the two bases Herr has come up with, so let's avoid using that as a reason for them to not get accepted, hmm? It's a smidge childish in my opinion because it's 'if I can't have this then they can't have that' logic.

Personally I'm not a huge fan of Dahlia just because I'm not a bright-base fan, but I'm not hating on it because of my own preferences. c:

Thank you for your input, Lia-Lin. I understand. ^^ And I agree in some ways, but it was something Cake wanted to see done, so I gave it a shot.
