The Third Lioden Hybrid - The Jaglion

What is a Jaglion?

A jaglion is the unlikely offspring produced from a male jaguar and a lioness. While seemingly bizarre and outlandish to many, jaglions are actually among one of the more recent hybrids to be successfully produced. Although they are bred less often (thankfully) than ligers and liligers, there are two jaglions, Tsunami and Jazhara, who were born at Bear Creek Sanctuary in 2006. The two are still alive to this day, although their parents have since been separated to prevent more accidental jaglions. The two creatures seem to be healthy, and sport a very unique appearance in comparison to leopons.

While I do wish to show you a side-by-side comparison of a jaglion vs a leopon in terms of appearance, the images on Bear Creek have been copyrighted, and they have stressed their desire for their images not to be reposted. Instead, I will provide links to Bear Creak Sanctuary's jaglion page, as well as the link to the leopon wikipedia article.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THESE PEOPLE DO NOT GENUINELY CARE FOR THESE ANIMALS, AND ARE NOT A TRUE SANCTUARY. DO NOT PLAN VISITS TO THEM SIMPLY BECAUSE I'M USING THEM AS AN EXAMPLE OF JAGLIONS.***

How would they occur in Lioden?

A good, valid question! After all, jaguars live in South America, not Africa. However, you know what other impossible hybrid is coming to Lioden in 2018? The tigon.

Tigers are known to roam Asia, and while a certain subspecies of lion, the Asiatic lion, also roams Asia, the two lack overlapping ranges. Alongside that, it is heavily hinted at that Lioden takes place in Africa proper, and not in Asia, judging by its flora and fauna. However, we still get tigons. This is because, at least from what I've heard, that a tiger escaped from a zoo, or was perhaps an exotic pet that broke loose. While such occurrences are unlikely, it is still going to be apart of Lioden's lore. Such a scenario could easily be the same case as the jaglion's jaguar father.

A jaguar escapes from an African zoo and takes shelter in the jungle. Not too unlikely, given how poor the humans in this game seem to be at keeping animals where they should.

UPDATE!
A jaguar encounter was added in the December of 2017! This male jaguar is in search of a lioness to protect him. Maybe that lioness will do a little more than just protect him...

Fun Jaglion Facts!
1. Male jaglions don't have a mane. At most, they have a little bit more fluff on their chests.
2. Jaglions can be melanistic if their jaguar father is.
3. Jaglions are smaller than their mothers, but larger than their fathers.

*** More Info on Bear Creek

Bear Creek allows visitors to handle cubs, which is both stressful and unhealthy for the cubs. These cubs are taken away from their mothers before they are weaned to be bottle-fed by visitors and staff while they are still "cute". Once these cubs grow up, they are often left in awful conditions. Along with that, their production of the Jaglions shows how careless they are towards conserving wildlife. Hybrids serve no conservation purposes. Cub handling is cruel. Do not support Bear Creek, and please, don't take this suggestion as me advocating for them.

I think they should add a melanistic jaguar who can only be encountered in the tropical forest area (tis a jungle) and will maybe wear a color

His story is that he is a pet
And at first u think he is a leopard
After you get encounters where you help him learn how to be wild (hunt/avoid traps etc)
and somehow like the tigon you get an encounter to boost your chances at a little hybrid

Melanistic so that you get a chance to get your own little shadow lion

Just an idea

I support this too because tigers and leopards already have their hybrids represented here, so why not jaguars? Lions, tigers, leopards, and jaguars are all part of the genus Panthera, which means they can breed with each other.

Also, I hope this time it would be less of a pure RNG?

Yes! Yes! Yes!

This video shows two rare jaguar-lion hybrids (jaglions) recently produced at Bear Creek Sanctuary in Barrie, Ontario, Canada.

The argument with that Tigons shouldnt occur in Lioden really got me there. Yes, I support, as long as this hybrid is made APPROPRIATELY HARD to get.

Sadly I don't support as much as I love jaguars. A Jaglion doesn't fit well into this game, especially since it is completley devoid of any mane since this game is, infact Lioden. You may also say that the Jaglion is different from the Leopon, but it's so similar I don't see a point in adding it, sure, it's a bit lower to the ground and a bit stockier, but that isn't enough to justify the time and effort it would take to add a new hybrid for me. Also, my biggest arguement! It just looks like a darker colored Jaguar, it doesn't look like a hybrid at all, other than the fact it's slightly bigger which doesn't matter unless you have a comparisson of what a normal jaguar looks like constantly, kind of like a coywolf which you can barely tell from a wolf. If I were to look at that animal without knowing it's a hybrid i'd think it was just a jaguar, because thats what it looks like. But that's just how I feel about it.
