Hey guys - I'm Cala, back with another love it or hate it idea. Usually I'm posting on the other suggestions board, but this time I'm here with an idea surrounding Piebalds! I'd very much appreciate if you could read through the entire thread (or at least skim through) - as I have a secondary suggestion for this idea, which has a notable difference to the first idea. Anyway, let me kick this off!

Please do read each section fully, as each idea differs quite a bit :)

Recessive Piebald
Okay, so genetically speaking - at this time, Piebald is only passed by the specific carrier on Lioden. Symmetrical will only ever have Symmetrical, Clouded will only ever have Clouded. You have a chance at two differing types of Piebald if you breed two different types of Piebald together - ie, Clouded x Piebald means you have a small percent chance at either one of those piebald patterns to pass. What I would like to propose is a new Piebald mutation, which contains a recessive gene. This Piebald will have the ability to pass every piebald pattern available at a very very minimal chance. It would act much like the piebald gene in real life, whereby an animal doesn't have to have a piebald colouring in order to pass piebald. Confused? Let me clarify what this would involve specifically for Lioden.

You would have a solid coloured king - who looks just like any regular non-mutation lion - but he would be a recessive piebald carrier. This means he has the ability to pass the piebald mutation, even though he doesn't look like a piebald or have the actual piebald mutation itself. This would enable him to pass ANY of the piebald variants currently available in the game, just like a Primal can pass any primal variant. This would only pass at a very minor percent - something akin to the pass rate of Smilus (possibly even Leopon), to prevent the over-population of Piebald in-game. He would also have the ability to pass the recessive piebald gene as well, which would have an even LESS chance of passing, to help control and maintain the number of piebald mutations appearing.

Hidden Gene Recessive Piebald
My second idea for this mutation varies. While the off-set would be the same, in the fact that it would grant the ability to produce every piebald variant, the way it appears on your lion would be much different. This would involve an entirely new feature being added to the game, much in the way of the hidden mark system - only this time, it would be a hidden gene. You would take your lion to the hidden gene pool, or stone, or wherever - pay a certain amount of GB (so also a GB sink for Lioden) and have your lion 'tested' for the recessive piebald gene. Obviously the chances of your lion having the recessive piebald gene will be extremely slim, but the chance is there all the same. Lions would need to be tested before adulthood (2 years old; beyond that the lion becomes ineligible for testing). Even if your lion happens to carry the recessive piebald gene, it will NOT be active unless you unlock it - so you cannot just breed your lions anyway, in the hopes that it will randomly one day pop a few piebalds. In this way, it acts as a kind of 'paid' Adult Mutation. Because it would be an entirely separate system, it would be possible for a Piebald mutation lion to also have a Recessive Piebald Gene, and therefore have the ability to pass all piebald variations - just the same as an Adult Mutation Lions, and even Primals, and non-mutations. (<- This could be altered to being only available to non-mutated lions if people feel it would open the market too much).

Also, instead of either of these "variations" being called Recessive Piebald, I think they could have a neat name like "Grand Piebald" / "Royal Piebald" / "King Piebald"; something fancy. Or just Recessive Piebald could work as well. Name suggestions also welcome!

I hope any of this makes sense!

I would very much appreciate any feedback on this, positive OR negative, and would love to hear views on BOTH ideas - particularly in relation to your vote. I'd love to know which idea you are voting for or not voting for.

Thanks guys :D!

I like the first idea & it could be called Royal Piebald. :)
