Princess-

Princess walked downstairs to her twoleg, Tristan pouring chicken flavored cat food in her blue plastic bowl. Chicken flavour was her favorite flavor of cat food.
She took a few bites before looking up. In the window, a squirrel was running left and right trying to find some nuts. Catching Princess's fascination, she hopped up on the windowsill watching the squirrel. Her one blue eye going back and forth. She pounced at the window before smacking into the hard glass. Her paw almost slipped off the slippery windowsill making Princess almost lose her balance. Luckily Princess caught it before falling. Princess walked over to the back door of the house. Her own little door was built into a bigger door for Princess to walk in and out of her yard freely. She walked outside, the warm grass making noises as she stepped. She hopped up on the fence of her garden and stared out into the forest. Sometimes she wondered what life would be like if she had lived out in the forest. She even had a few dreams. But Princess had a loving home with food when she needed it, water, shelter, a soft and comfy bed, and her favorite, EAR SCRATCHES!! A purr escaped her throat.

Totally was like: Oh look. I'm feeding a cat. I feel special)

Shadow stretched and then trotted out, going through his rounds of searching for some means of getting food. He wandered about the neighborhood, running from the children who saw him and wanted to pet him. He wasn't one for these twolegs and the little ones were the worst of them all, always chasing and trying to grab him. He shuddered at the thought. He eventually spotted one of the kittypets in the neighborhood sitting on the fence. "Watch out! Stare too long at the trees and you'll actually leave your home!" He said teasingly, knowing how much the kittypets loved their beds. He had yet to meet one who actually left their home. He himself had been born without human protection, called a "stray" and "diseased" even though he was fairly clean and very healthy.

Princess-

"Well". "I actually thought about leaving before". Princess looked out into the forest. She knew someday she would leave, maybe not today but some day. Princess gave herself a quick groom. Princess wasn't scared to go out there but she didn't want her owner to worry. Princess's pink collar jingles as she laid on her fence and played with it, a bit fascinated. She chewed on her collar and clawed the bell. She thought it was fun to play with and liked the way it jingles.

Shadow tilted his head. "Oh?" He questioned with amusement. He moved closer and circled her. "You would dare leave your life of always being fed, always having something to play with, having soft things under your feet when you walk, and a warm bed at night for life in the cold, dark woods where everything is out to eat you?" He asked. He couldn't believe it.

Princess-

Princess stopped and looked over the forest. She gulped before hopping into the forest. "Is this better"? "Oh no please help I'm gonna get eaten". Princess said sarcastically. She liked the smell of the trees actually and the way the leaves crunched. Princess got carried away and rolled on the ground playing with her collar.

Shadow watched her, shaking his head. He crouched down and stalked closer, knowing that that collar was also a security feature. That thing told her where she belonged. He couldn't help it. The second he got the chance, he pounced on her, his teeth grabbing the collar and with a few shakes, was able to slip it off her, though still in tact. He didn't plan on keeping it or throwing it away. He was simply having fun. "And without this? Are you ok knowing that you are called a stray without this collar?" He asked.

"I guess". Princess said, a bit surprised. It was a good toy to play with and she liked hearing the sounds the bell made. Princess was wondering if she had made a big mistake. She shook off her coat her one eye looking off into the forest. "I heard there where other cats in the forest but I don't believe it". Princess shook her head.

Shadow tilted his head some. "I've seen them from a distance when I go into the woods." He said. "They're strange. They seem to have some sort of ranking system I guess. The names are odd too. Nothing like what the twolegs call you kittypets or what my mother called me." He said, offering her collar back. She seemed fine and he felt like his fun was done but he did have an interesting topic to talk to her about now.

He shrugged. "A little damage only shows what you survived though." He said. "Scars mean you suffered something and lived to tell the tale. I personally believe they should be shown with pride, but also acknowledge as they are a warning too to avoid the thing that hurt you if possible."
