After having come back from a long hiatus, I was interested in seeing the new bases. Cloudburst was one of the few that caught my eye. I thought it was pretty straightforward to breed a Cloudburst but that’s not the case for this base. I believe it’s a combination base (correct me if I’m wrong), and can only be bred during the wet season. That sounds pretty “special” to me. Besides, if this base was so common to begin with then there’d be more than two pages worth of lions having this base. Cloudburst behaves much like special bases do already. It’s hard to obtain, and once you have it it is still hard to breed for since you’re restricted to just the wet season. Make Cloudburst a black medium countershaded special base. Please let me know your thoughts, no matter if you support or not. Thank you! TL;DR - change rarity category of Cloudburst base from Common to Special |

Yeah I must admit, it doesn’t really make sense to me either that it’s common rather than special...and I can’t really see that changing just the rarity category would do any harm. So support! Would it be cheeky of me to suggest adding a TL;DR to your original post? I feel like maybe something like the following would simplify things for those skimming the post, and hopefully make more people support? Rather than worrying that you’re suggesting other aspects of the genetics should change too, if you see what I mean :) TL;DR - change rarity category of Cloudburst base from Common to Special 0 players like this post! Support! My side queen is a Cloudburst and I only stud her during the wet season. With the requirements for breeding, I really don't think cloudburst should be a common, it really needs to be special. I'm also biased because its my second favorite base. >>; 0 players like this post! Like? |

I think the main reason Cloudburst is common and not special is to help boost a bit the chances of it appearing. Think about it, special genetics have a lower chance of "triggering", and Cloudburst being a combo base and having the season condition - you can only try for it during 3 days, then you have to wait 9 days until the dry season passes -, if it were special instead of common it'd be even harder to breed  0 players like this post! Support. As for the point berenos made, apparently special bases can have their own pass rates (kimanjo was nerfed more then other special bases) so maybe they could keep the odds of obtaining cloudburst from base parents (assuming its rates are too different from other combos) the same it is now but especially with the new definition for special bases... it matches for how cloudburst works and every other combo base is special so t makes sense to me that it'd be special. 0 players like this post! Oh.... ok did not know that. That still seems odd though. Special definition says one parent needs the base in order to pase- combos fall into that category and then some. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Okay kinda pulling from the comment above While I disagree with the rarity being "common" I don't believe it should be special. Here's why. Special bases are bred when one of the parents already has the base, and, if I'm correct, the parent bases (of Cloudburst) range from common to rare. In cloudburst's case, you don't need to have cloudburst to pursue this goal to begin with, eliminating the possibility and reason to become a special. The seasonal chance poses a challenge, and that's why I don't believe it should be common. I recommend tweaking the suggestion to have it as an uncommon OR rare base.
