 This thread is part of the Ilanga’s Adoptions clan, although anyone can adopt cubs here. Please check it out, we’d love to have some new members! You are still welcome to request cubs, but keep an eye out for future changes! Welcome! This is one of Lioden’s longest-existing cub adoption threads, created in October 2018. It has since expanded into multiple shelters and a clan. It’s named after the owner’s first broodmother, Ilanga. All of the cubs here are free for the taking, as long as they are marked as “Adoptable”. All you have to do is write a quick roleplay, even if it’s just a couple sentences long. Once you’ve read the rules, you can speak to one of the broodmothers at the adoption center and let them know which cub(s) you would like! Rules -Please DO NOT kill/tree/sell a cub you get from us! They are looking for permanent homes. -You can adopt as many cubs as you like! Just make sure that you can actually care for all of them. -To make things easier for us, please specify the name of the shelter or broodmother you are adopting from in your roleplay. -You don’t need to include a link to the cub, just their name. -We generally have a first-come, first-serve policy, but if someone puts more effort into their roleplay or message, we might choose them instead. -Please do not argue with the decision of a shelter owner. However, if you have a problem (such as a cub not arriving, or receiving the wrong cub), don’t be afraid to reach out to us! -If you break the rules, we may prevent you from adopting a cub here in the future. -We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Born during the poaching season, Vikela lost many of her family and friends to vicious attacks when she was just a cub. She witnessed firsthand the deaths of countless cubs, and made it her mission to protect as many as she could in the future. She trained as a warrior alongside the pride’s other guards before becoming a broodmother, and as a result, she can seem quite tough and intimidating at first sight, especially to outsiders, who she distrusts. However, despite being a bit overprotective at times, she is popular among her pride and a hero to the cubs she raises. Once you’ve gained her trust, she will be loyal until her last breath.
Despite being an elderly lioness, blind in one eye and beginning to lose her hearing, Khatiba is as sharp as ever. She may not be as fast as she used to be, but she keeps a watchful eye on the playing cubs from her resting spot. When they grow tired of running and wrestling, they gather around her to hear one of her stories. She loves to tell the cubs about legends passed down through the generations, of vicious battles and ancient gods. She is gentle and kind, balancing out Vikela’s fiery energy. You may have met her daughter Kuhle at the clan’s stockpile.
Amina is a very trustworthy lioness. She would die before she saw any of the cubs she protected be harmed. Her goal in life is to find a good home for each and every cub she can. She is confident, kind, and most important to her, gentle. If any cub gets hurt in her presence she will be sure to rush to it and care for it to the best of her ability. Though she may get suspicious of some lions, she does her best to trust every lion and lioness she comes across.

Vikela studied the king for a moment. Deciding that he seemed trustworthy, she nodded. “Yes, you are welcome to take them. An unfamiliar lioness with oddly-colored fur that sported dark, obsidian swirls slunk into the den, her long tail grazing the slightly dusty ground. With twinkling, excited eyes, she mewed, "My name is Tzuyu," (pronounced chewy btw) "Im here on behalf of my king, Suho, as your probably can tell by my scent." Her fur had the warm fragrance of redwood and vanilla, a scent that had attached itself to Suho. "Old king," Tzuyu continued with a scoff. "He's not even ten years old and he acts like he's about to retire, he's too lazy to come here by himself..." "Dont talk about Suho like that," A cold yet smooth voice warned just as a female adoloscent trotted after Tzuyu. The female's voice was mature-sounding despite her age. "Have some respect." Tzuyu wrinkled her snout, opening her jaws to say a snappy remark, but before even a breath left her mouth, the adoloscent graced the amused broodmothers with a bow that swooped low to the ground. "Pay no attention to my mentor," She said, voice still laced with that sensual maturity. "She acts more like a five month old cub than an adult, lets get on to business shall we?" With a flick of her tail, a proud-looking adoloscent dashed in, a blur of blue and red fur, followed by another streak of fiery red. "We have two cubs to deliver, and I'd also like one for myself. My name is Byunhyun, and I am the next queen of Suho's pride." "What do you mean for yourself?" Tzuyu gasped, eyes glinting with both curiousity and alarm for the strange heiress of their pride. "What are you going to do with-" Byunhyun laid a piercing glare on her mentor that caused shivers down Tzuyu's spinal cord. "Nothing," She murmured quietly. "I would like that one," Byunhyun motioned to Shell, a beautiful multi-colored female watching them with mixed emotions. 0 players like this post! Reyes was getting a bit older then he liked, and his lionesses grew weary of him, he'd produced some offspring and they'd grown into beautiful lioness' in another pride. Reyes made his way towards the cave, where a bunch of cubs and teens sat, Reyes glanced around, trying to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. He looked to an approaching lioness, "Hello, Do you by chance know if this gorgeous lass is up?" He asked, pointing to a gorgeous Lioness named Katrina. @Loey Vikela watched the two new cubs charge into the den, then sat in front of the lionesses, her tail twitching in annoyance. She said nothing, but narrowed her eyes, staring at the sinister adolescent with suspicion. After a moment of tense silence, Shelela padded over. “Don’t be so unkind, Vikela,” the older lioness said. Turning to the newcomers, she said “of course you can adopt that cub. Her name is Shell, and she’s been looking for a home for quite a while.” @My Heart Be Broke Isiphepho nodded. “Yes, that’s Katrina. She’s becoming a fine hunter, I’m sure she would be a very valuable addition to your pride.” Three cubs charged past, one of them bumping into the newcomer, and a fourth began trying to pounce on Isiphepho’s tail. She laughed. “Sorry about all the chaos. We have a lot of cubs right now, I’m very grateful that you came here to adopt one.” 0 players like this post! Like? |

Days later, a familiar lioness softly padded in, her steps light and feathery. Her abdomen was swollen and her fur puffy, indicating she carried a litter within her. Her beautiful eyes clouded for a moment as she saw her old home, memories of playing with her old friends flooded her head. Aubrey, now named Tiffany, poked her head in with a smile. "Hello," Was all she could whisper for a moment, scents that stirred nostalgia filled her sensitive nose and chilled her bones. Forcing herself to continue withot sobbing, Tiffany forced a wider, brighter smile and continued. "Suho would like another cub, and since he let me choose myself, I would love the red one with white markings. She's pretty." She pointed her snout in Penelope's direction, where the red cub was chasing after a butterfly that matched her fur. "Oh, and Suho wanted to donate Glacier here," She added thoughtfully, urging the pale blue colored adoloscent forward. Suddenly realizing something, Tiffany froze and her shoulders slumped. She could not scent her favorite broodmother, the one who had been like a mother to her. So much so, that she had caught the habit of calling her mother. "S-Shelela... Do you know where mother- I mean Khatiba is? Is she out hunting?" In her heart, she knew that was a lie. Khatiba never left the den, her older bones preventing her to do so. 0 players like this post! Ambrose walks in, strutting her stuff. "Hey, aren't you giving away cubs? Im looking for a beautiful cub, preferably a teen, my standards are pretty high." Ambrose turned around and saw Safari, her fur was a silky light brown, and she had little cheetah spots covering her whole body. Ambrose walked towards her and said "Oh my gosh, your so gorgeous!" And then, Ambrose turned back around and said "How much is she? or is she free? I would love to take her in!" Her tail wagging excitedly. 0 players like this post! (Sorry it took so long to reply! I’ve been busy lately) @Loey Shelela smiled sadly. “Khatiba passed away recently,” she said, moving forwards to comfort the younger lioness. “I know you and her were quite close.” Isiphepho and Vikela padded over to greet Tiffany as well, then backed off to give her a moment to grieve. They took Glacier with them, leading her towards an empty nest in the back of the cave and sending Penelope over. The cub sat patiently, waiting for Shelela and Tiffany to finish their conversation. “I’m glad you came back to visit,” Shelela said. “Feel free to come back any time you like.” Turning to Penelope, she added “you are always welcome too, of course, along with any other cubs who came from here.” With that, the two former orphans left the den and began the journey home. @Tsunamí Isiphepho stifled a laugh at the overexcited lioness. “All of the cubs here are free,” she said. “Our only goal is to get them into homes. You are certainly welcome to take Safari.” The adolescent ran forwards to nuzzle the broodmother one last time before following Ambrose out of the den. 0 players like this post! Like? |

(lmao, im so sorry I keep taking cute cubbins, but I have a lot of territory so why not) It was quite a surprise that Suho himself would show up. The large primal male padded into the den, half-hidden in darkness, his whiskers twitching. The soft rustle of leaves was heard as he trotted forward to meet Isiphepho. "Hello," The king purred in greeting. "I'd like another cub. Unfortunately, I do not have another to bring." His eyes scanned his surroundings, and once he laid eyes on Kaitlynn, he knew it was her. (It’s okay! This thread used to be pretty popular but now you’re one of the few people who still visits so I definitely appreciate it) Isiphepho purred, welcoming the king. Him and many of his pride members had become friends to her, as they visited so often. “That’s Kaitlynn,” she said, nudging the cub over to the king. “She’s becoming a pretty good huntress. Orbis padded into the cave, looking at the cubs that ran around and played. He'd heard of this place for cubs from a close ally of his, Sibro, who was also the king of a pride. His gaze fell onto two cubs, Glacier and Kaitlynn who had caught his interest. He walked up to one of the lionesses watching over the cubs, Shelela. "Excuse me, do those two happen to be available? I feel they would fit in well with my pride," Orbis politely asked, gesturing towards Kaitlynn and Glacier. (Adopting here since I'm kinda getting low on space on my main. i can't seem to get enough of cubs who catch my eye haha) 0 players like this post! Like? |

The king smiled, his ears perking up at her words. "Ah, that's good. My pride is known to shelter the best of hunters," He couldn't help the pride that was laced in his words. The cub, Kaitlynn, gazed curiously at the large primal in front of her, before letting herself be picked up. "Thank you very much. After Im long gone, I'll tell my heiress to still visit this place," The king mewed, surprising as his voice was deeper than most.
