 This thread is part of the Ilanga’s Adoptions clan, although anyone can adopt cubs here. Please check it out, we’d love to have some new members! You are still welcome to request cubs, but keep an eye out for future changes! Welcome! This is one of Lioden’s longest-existing cub adoption threads, created in October 2018. It has since expanded into multiple shelters and a clan. It’s named after the owner’s first broodmother, Ilanga. All of the cubs here are free for the taking, as long as they are marked as “Adoptable”. All you have to do is write a quick roleplay, even if it’s just a couple sentences long. Once you’ve read the rules, you can speak to one of the broodmothers at the adoption center and let them know which cub(s) you would like! Rules -Please DO NOT kill/tree/sell a cub you get from us! They are looking for permanent homes. -You can adopt as many cubs as you like! Just make sure that you can actually care for all of them. -To make things easier for us, please specify the name of the shelter or broodmother you are adopting from in your roleplay. -You don’t need to include a link to the cub, just their name. -We generally have a first-come, first-serve policy, but if someone puts more effort into their roleplay or message, we might choose them instead. -Please do not argue with the decision of a shelter owner. However, if you have a problem (such as a cub not arriving, or receiving the wrong cub), don’t be afraid to reach out to us! -If you break the rules, we may prevent you from adopting a cub here in the future. -We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Born during the poaching season, Vikela lost many of her family and friends to vicious attacks when she was just a cub. She witnessed firsthand the deaths of countless cubs, and made it her mission to protect as many as she could in the future. She trained as a warrior alongside the pride’s other guards before becoming a broodmother, and as a result, she can seem quite tough and intimidating at first sight, especially to outsiders, who she distrusts. However, despite being a bit overprotective at times, she is popular among her pride and a hero to the cubs she raises. Once you’ve gained her trust, she will be loyal until her last breath.
Despite being an elderly lioness, blind in one eye and beginning to lose her hearing, Khatiba is as sharp as ever. She may not be as fast as she used to be, but she keeps a watchful eye on the playing cubs from her resting spot. When they grow tired of running and wrestling, they gather around her to hear one of her stories. She loves to tell the cubs about legends passed down through the generations, of vicious battles and ancient gods. She is gentle and kind, balancing out Vikela’s fiery energy. You may have met her daughter Kuhle at the clan’s stockpile.
Amina is a very trustworthy lioness. She would die before she saw any of the cubs she protected be harmed. Her goal in life is to find a good home for each and every cub she can. She is confident, kind, and most important to her, gentle. If any cub gets hurt in her presence she will be sure to rush to it and care for it to the best of her ability. Though she may get suspicious of some lions, she does her best to trust every lion and lioness she comes across.

The large primal male padded up to the entrance of the den, dark red fur gleaming in the sunlight. He was flanked by two females, one a beautiful silver-gray and the other a faded red and orange. He gazed around at the various cubs running and wrestling in the shade of the cave, and noticed a brightly colored adolescent sprinting back and forth. He smiled, showing off his long fangs, when another cub caught his eye. She was younger, and her fur was pale gray. She sat alone in a corner, silently observing the other cubs. The primal turned and walked over to Cula. “My name is Lord Beron,” he said. “I would like to adopt those two,” he added, pointing to Silk and Kei. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Cula was about to respond when Vikela walked over. “I thought I recognized your scent,” the fiery lioness growled. “We haven’t had a visit from your pride since I was just a cub.” She sat with her eyes narrowed and tail twitching. Although she has a right to be cautious.” He paused for a moment, then continued. “The former king of my pride often took cubs from here, but he was a cruel leader. Alexander had heard word of there being lions who were helping adopt out homeless cubs. This had interested him enough to bring him out of his pride and go venturing. Alexander was strictly a loner- didn't like conversing with others, so he was putting in a great deal of effort. Alexander was an eye-sore in the terrain, all white and pink hues. On his left was his queen, Absinthe. She was old, too old to breed but still had a wicked glint in her eyes. She was a grey lionesses with multiple stripes across her sides, giving her the appearance of a hyena. Absinthes oldest daughter, Princesses Snow flanked Alexander on the other side. Absinthe had been in the pride since before Alexander had been born and her family had always been royalty. Absinthe was more of Alexander's political partner and Snow's next heat would create the next of Absinthe's lines. Of course Snow had already had cubs, but with unimportant males. With the simple promise of a heir, Alexander was dazed by snow. Alexander didn't even really lead the pride, Absinthe and Snow did. When the group found the entrance of the den, Absinthe hobbled in without a word. Ignoring the broodmothers she assessed the cubs, one, in particular, catching her gaze- Leah. Leah looked up at the male. “Hello! You have really pretty fur! Why does it look like that? Do you have a big pride? Can I come live in it?” Cula hurried over, cutting off the cub’s never-ending string of questions. “Sorry, she really likes to talk. Cula was trying to separate two arguing cubs when she noticed the male sitting in the shade, watching her. Leaving the cubs for another broodmother to deal with, she padded over to him. “Hello,” she purred, “are you here for a cub? His silvery mane ruffled gently in the breeze, and a sadness veiled his eyes. But there was no falter in his strides, splattered white paws moving him forward with confidence. Quite a few lions had appeared, surrounded by even more cubs. Pango couldn't help but smile. It had been so long since he'd been around cubs. His forest hued gaze swept the den for a broodmother, and fell upon a striped lioness. He smiled and approached her, sending forth a rumbling greeting from his chest. "Hello there. I've been interested in cubs and watched a few of them play. I think I'd like to adopt Loony Lovegood, Tallie, Shell, Serina, and Jade. ( :o) Hephaestus, covering for Aphrodite as she was nursing, smiled to the sad-eyed king. Her claws flexed slightly, but it was simply a stretch as she stood up, shaking her fur off. Stepping down with the certain cubs he had spoken up around her, humming happily to the king. Her personality seemed to be cooling from the fiery hot mistress to the tamed dam of the pride, perhaps that was something to be aware of? Nonetheless, she sat by the king. "These ones, yes?" "Umm... hello?" Mumbled a very young king. He saw shapes in the dark cave and continued talking, more confident in every word. "My pride has many lionesses and a few lions. Most of them have terrible skills, and I would like to make my pride better. Therefore, I would enjoy taking in a new huntress into my pride." He looked around and saw a young lioness sitting there, staring at him like he had four heads. He shook his mane out and looked around. He stared into the dawn eyes that were staring right at him. A large king of brown and tan hues with the shimmers of an ethereal pelt strode forward, accompanied by two elderly lionesses. One was scarlet with ebony stripes who wore the regal look of a queen, and had the circlet to prove it. She was quite old, however, and her walk was supported by a not-too-old-but-still-elderly gray lioness. This one boasted no markings, but she had the kind expression of one who had protected many young cubs. The trio had taken the trip after a hunting party had reported sightings of a place where cubs were given to loving pride. Their king, Zukoheart, had brought his leading broodmother and his queen to attempt to take in a cub. Upon entering the adoption centre, Zukoheart’s patient gaze landed on a cub with gray and blue fur, who sat alone with a brooding look on her face. The king approached her carefully and rumbled “Hello there. What’s your name?” She looked up, startled, and answered, “Karin.” Zukoheart glanced around for the broodmothers who ran the centre. Meanwhile, his broodmother Dovecloud, who was waiting with Queen Leafblood, was approached by a brown-ginger cub named Blight. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Blight was still thinking about the best way to talk the lioness into adopting her when Amabala walked over. “Hello,” she said, addressing the three visiting lions. “I’m assuming you’re here for these two cubs?” The king nodded, and Amabala purred as the cubs followed him and his lionesses out of the den. 0 players like this post!
