So since lioden has begun adjusting events and adding storyline where previously there werent I thought I'd contribute a small idea.

Let Krampus do what Krampus does. And leave the members to save the fate of Lioden again!

Krampus is in his traditional folklore the Anti-Santa. He takes and does not give but there are some other myths that mention that Krampus steals Children as well and eats them... All folklore has a similar character most of them are around year round. In Zulu cultures around our area (of which there are 11 ethnic groups) there's another naughty beast known as a tokoloshe. This little guy is so feared by the people that they place bricks under their bed posts to keep him from causing them harm. And in the African spirit I must express that people from Africa are highly superstitious when it comes to their folklore and as a result I feel that lioden should embrace this little fact.

Each storyline for events has multiple novels with multiple chapters. So keeping to this spirit.

Let's begin.

Novel 1.
Silly season has begun, strange sightings of weird albinoid animals have been spotted all around and the elephants have gone a bit bonkers. But the lions seem in good spirits and naughty spirits too. Gifts have been arriving on the edges of territories and a lot of poop too.

But something unshakable makes you feel slightly uneasy, you've been seeing some things that are weirder than usual. Abnormal tracks on the ground that disappear into the middle of nowhere, random black rocks that are light to pick up and smell like fire are popping up in weird areas and the worst bit is nobody seems to have noticed but you feel like there's something big about to happen.

A strange and smelly old white lion with a chin full of overgrown fur and a pointy looking hat on his head has started appearing in your territory. You approach him.

Introducing Nicholas.

He's unusual and speaks of his weird brother always causing havoc who has mysteriously escaped the cave they managed to lock him in to wreak havoc across the Lioden lands.

He asks you to complete some quests to try figure out what his brother is up to or if the creature is his brother at all

1. Find tracks.
2. Find coal.
3. Something else (mind is mushy with this)

He thanks you for your assistance and gives you a thing (stink bugs and/or a rare event item possibly or just stink bugs)

You go back to visit Nicholas, he seems a lot more jolly as you see him speaking to a crowd of dwarf lions with pointy ears. He seems to be giving them some instructions.

He notices you and calls you over, you ask him if he found his brother and he shakes his head. Unfortunately not. That's why he's sending his little helpers to have a look and bring some ease to the Lioden lands as more and more strange things keep happening.

You offer to help.

You are assisting the small lions in finding Nicholas brother when you suddenly get seperated in a dense dried bush area. A lot of the area has been pushed over and destroyed by the elephants and nothing seems to be making a sound.

Suddenly you are hit on the head with something. You see a piece of coal a little way off.
You hear a maniacal and creepy laugh. Then you see the shadowy figure rushing between the twigs.
You demand to know who's there. Angry that you've been used for target practice.

"It's meee it's meee it's Krampus you see" you hear the response.

Krampus? Silly name. You eventually spot him still and watching you and God is he ugly. He wears a strange headpiece of wildebeest horns and has like his brother, a very overgrown chin, his tongue pointy and long raspberrying you from afar.

You strut towards him bravely. Telling him how his brother has been looking for him. He snickers and tells you that he's not done yet. He has a holiday to take over. He vanishes. Leaving in his wake a set of blackened paw prints and no tracks to follow. Huh... Weird?

Novel 2.
It's been a few days and the Lioden lands are still keeping their festive tune. The silly season continues as per usual and slowly but surely lions are being greeted by strange weather phenomena.

You haven't seen hide nor claw of Nicholas or Krampus but on occasion see Nicholas little helpers running around with gifts in their mouths or looking up to no good. You've even made use of a few to deliver some good and bad messages to your neighbours. Cheeky you but oh what a fun time.

You are down by the river drinking some water when you notice a reflection not your own staring back at you. It's Nicholas but he's looking a bit more well kept and rounder than you remember? The weird hat he wears has started to bloom little red and white flowers from it.

"We need to talk" he says and sits beside you. He looks tired but keeps a jolly demeanor. He explains that he's been impossibly busy of late and hasn't had time to find his brother and his little helpers have had no luck either. He wants your help again.

Thus start the quests. For a total of 5 days he sends you on quests to gather supplies to trap Krampus. He thinks it'll be easier to trap him than to track him. After each quest you get a little reward. Stink bugs and maybe a new decor/gift material.

You finish your quests and build the trap and you and Nicholas spend a day lying in wait. But it's boring and he falls asleep. You're barely keeping your eyes open if it weren't for his Ho Ho Ho snoring you'd be asleep too.

Suddenly you hear the trap spring and a cry!

You run to it. Nicholas sleepily following you. You're greeted much to your dismay with a distressed lioness. "My cub! My cub is gone!" she cries. You help her out of the trap and she explains that her cub has gone missing and all she could find was a set of charred paw prints. She says she's not the only one and that she's seen so so many mothers around the lands looking helplessly for their cubs.

This is news to you but Nicholas just sighs and eerily states that the trouble has begun.

(optional for this is that cubs get a flavor message in prides saying they were nearly taken by a smelly and strange black lion with weird horns)

You demand Nicholas tell you why exactly his brother needs to be locked up and so he does. He says that Krampus is evil and likes to cause ruin and chaos. He mentions that Krampus likes to eat cubs and this is why he is locked up. He's usually an okay guy year round but this time of year he gets dilly and goes crazy.

You tell Nicholas that he needs to get Krampus under control. And he agrees but he can't do it alone. If Krampus is already kidnapping cubs, then he's very powerful and he'll need lots of help to stop him.

You agree to help and he offers you the assistance of one of his little helpers. (gives you a battle boost in explore)

Explore encounters with black wildebeest start appearing more often they seem like huge fans of Krampus. So you get fight and follow options to see what's going on.

You also encounter more distraught mothers and fathers looking for their cubs. And manage to rescue a few from the sacks the wildebeest are carrying around.

You eventually manage to follow one and find Krampus' hideout. There are dozens of cubs sitting around unsure of where they are.

You rescue them. All of them.

But vow to put an end to Krampus madness.
Get stink bugs and cub themed decor/wildebeest decor
End Novel 2.

Novel 3.

You approach Nicholas with Krampus location. He's looking bigger and jollier than usual, better and less smelly.
He explains that he is still too weak to take Krampus on himself and asks you to do more quests

(mainly gifting and pooping based quests, he takes pooping in good humor)

You do but he is still not strong enough. Together you come up with a plan that if you fight Krampus perhaps you can weaken him enough for Nicholas to fight him.

You go to Krampus lair and you battle him. You win. And he's weakened.

You tell Nicholas and you rush off with him before Krampus has time to recover. You along with Nicholas battle Krampus again and win! Krampus is caged once again and the joy of the festivities is restored.

For days after you are thanked as the hero of the Lioden lands for saving the cubs and saving the holidays.

One day you are summoned by a little helper to see Nicholas. As you approach the meeting point you find him next to a weird sled like thing attached to 8 kudu with strange ornaments on their horns. He's speaking to them. What a weird guy. He's looking all fat and happy and his sled is covered in gifts and poop. The last ones of the season it seems. He thanks you for the help you gave him. He's incredibly grateful that you helped him put his brother in his place.

He hugs you and gives you a solid goodbye before hopping on his sled and loudly bellowing odd sounding names in a sing song tune! The kudu all begin running and without batting and eyelid. Begin flying! You shake your head in disbelief as you watch the crazy white lion disappear into the clouds. Shouting something about Sandy Claws. Fresh snuh coating the Lioden lands.
(end of story rewards. Stink bugs and special decor or an applicator)

End Novel 3.

At the end of the story another little store opens run by one of Santa's helpers. It offers some cute little Christmas themed decor. Like a hat and Krampus horns and maybe a Krampus eye applicator or like Chin beards etc...

Anyway this is all a concept and idea that I had. It's not really a done deal and can be changed dramatically but I just thought a Krampus and Santa thing would be cool.

Obviously I did think about the liodeners that don't celebrate Christmas etc... But this is just kinda a storyline that works... I'm sure there's more but this is what I could think of.

Hope you guys like it.

it'd be cool if there was also an evil storyline! like how you can support Heaven or Hell in October? Evil lions can help out Krampus, maybe give him cubs in return for more rare items. There should be a limit so people don't over use it- maybe something similar to Gorilla Enclave? (one per day, must have x thing, more complicated quests get higher rewards) While my main king wouldn't ever offer a cub, my bad karma side would, yknow?

-edit: just realized i posted this on my bad karma side, whoops

I was thinking about that too and I was going to write an alternate side but it was going to take me forever to work out the kinks of two sides but I also really like that idea!
