1. What are they? Sneks. Or dangernoodles. As you prefer. :D 2. Ohno sneks are scary!!! Not these ones! Look at their cute little snoots! Give ‘em a boop on their snoot :D They love it. 3. Are they a specific species of dangernoodle? Nope. They’re based off of a decade of owning/handling sneks, and specifically ball pythons, green tree pythons, and emerald tree boas. So, generally, they are sneks, but specifically, they are…sneks. 4. Did you actually draw ALL of the scales by hand?? Yes. Yes, I did. 5. Why would you do that, you crazy person?! Didn’t it take FOREVER?! I am a foolish fool, and did not think about how long it would take until the head and neck were done, and by then, there was about a 0% chance of me erasing it. >_> So I had to finish. 6. Those scales aren’t anatomically correct for ANY species of snek. ;_; i know don’t judge me 7. They all have names and I don’t like any of them!!! That’s ok you can change the name, I just like names better than numbers :D 1. Be nice to each other we are all friends and life is happy and good!!! <3 2. Please don’t resell these. 3. Please don’t offer/bid things you don’t have 4. If you use these guys as characters/post elsewhere/etc. please give credit to me <3 5. USD offers take precedence over in-game currency/items, which I think is fair. : ) And please don’t offer lions. 6. Uhhh idk this seems like a lot of rules 7. But I like the # 7 better than 6 so yay! :D Currently Accepting as Payment GB – SB – USD 1GB = 1200 SB = $0.50 USD Items & Valuation ***I am willing to accept most USEFUL in-game items. Value for all items will be determined by average Trading Center/Branch sales prices (this means the actual amount they're SELLING for, not the "fuckyou" prices you see in Branches LOL)*** ***OASIS Items: Accepted @ Oasis price*** Useful items include: Marking Apps Base Apps Eye Dusts (NOT contacts) Mutation-on-Demand items Sex-change items Breeding Items Poses Currently Not Accepting: Lions Leopons Dwarves Muties Tigons Decor Art Trades 0 players like this post! Incubator Space: OPEN as of 3/23 Our Incubator is a small one, and only has space for 2 clutches at a time! 3/23: Thankfully, the Incubator Maintenance Company has cleared our incubator for use once more! :D Yay! Incubator Space 1:TAKEN By Anvaksta (#16026) (Waiting on payment) Breeding: Galaxy - ID#31 - Female ------ Kronus - ID#40 - Male - Owned by Shadowsspy (confirmed approved) Clutch Size: 3 eggs! Eggs laid: 3/25 Oh wow, all the eggs in this clutch have started hatching! Yay!!! Egg ID #58: This little guy clearly has a dark gray base with 4 markings! Wonder what it'll look like? Owner: Anvaksta #16026 Aww, what a cutie! That green mark is definitely a headfade mark! We can also see some flecks in there, too. There's clearly some kind of almost-black mark there on the cheek, too, but we can't tell what it is. Yay! It's coming out!! We can see more of it now. Looks like it has a spider marking, too!! Yay, looks like #58 is out!! Here's what we've learned: Sex: Female Mutation: None Base Color: Mine Shaft Marking 1: Gray Flecks - Heterzygous Marking 2: Scarpa Flow Spider Marking 3: Swamp Splotches - Heterozygous Marking 4: Pastel Green Headfade - Heterozygous Marking 5: None Egg ID #59: Like its sibling, it's got a dark gray base, and 3 markings, all in similar gray tones! Very sleek. Owner: Anvaksta #16026 Aww, look at the little nose! Those light gray-blue marks could be spider? It also looks like there's a dark fading marking under the spider which we suspect is headfade. And the same almost-black markings as on #58, too. What bright eyes! Ooh it's coming out of the shell! Like its sibling, it definitely has the spider marking, though in a slightly blue-ish color. Those black marks are definitely splotches!! Now that 59 is coming out, we've learned more! Sex: Female Mutation: None Base Color: Shark Marking 1: None Marking 2: Trout Spider Marking 3: Nero Splotches - Heterozygous Marking 4: Gondola Headfade - Heterozygous Marking 5: None Egg ID #60 And number three makes a matching set! This one's a little darker based than the others. We're pretty sure it has 4 markings, although one of them is very, very close in color to the base color. Owner: Shadowsspy #9255 Aww this little guy is shy, he ducked back in the shell at first!! Looks like this one has the same probably-spider marking as #60, along with some patches in a gray-blue color? Hard to tell what's going on with it! Yay, it's coming on out!! Like its other siblings, this guy has the spider mark, in a kind of warmer gray tone. It has the black splotches marking, but also a pale blue side splotches mark, too! And #60 is out, joining its siblings! More info: Sex: Male Mutation: None Base Color: Heavy Metal Marking 1: Pale Sky Side Splotches Marking 2: Zambezi Spider Marking 3: Nero Splotches - Heterozygous Marking 4: Heavy Metal Headfade - Heterozygous Marking 5: None We were right about there being one marking identical to base color. There's a het headfade marking there in almost identical color to his base color. Incubator Space 2: TAKEN by dark dragon (#4756) (Payment Rec'd) Breeding: Biohazard - ID#21 - Male ------ Wisteria - ID#28 - Female - Owned by Ivy (78902) (confirmed approved) Clutch size: 2 eggs! Eggs Laid: 3/25 Oh yay, these guys are peeping too! Egg ID#61 Wow, what a bright one! We've got a bright blue base with 3 markings! Owner: Ivy #78902 --- Name selected: Peri ITSSOCUTEICOULDDIE. Well, either it's pale green with blue banding, or blue with pale green banding! We'll know more once it comes out. There's some kind of orange-ish marking there, too. We can't see enough to know for sure. We're leaning towards blue with pale green banding--and the banding is homozygous! :D We got some splotches in orange, and flames, too!! Everyone's coming out at once it seems! Here's what we know about #61: Sex: Female Mutation: None Base Color:Eastern Blue Marking 1: Turtle Green Flames Marking 2: None Marking 3: Texas Rose Splotches - Heterozygous Marking 4: None Marking 5: Mint Green Banded - Homozygous Egg ID #62: This one definitely takes after papa! Look at that green! And a dark blue base with 3 markings. Owner: Dark Dragon #4756 Awww, his eyes match his colors!! Like #61, this one's either lime green with blue bands or blue with lime green bands. It seems to share the marking on the end of its nose with its sibling, except in a paler color. The banding bred true in these guys! This one is definitely blue with homozygous green banding. Like its sibling, those spots are splotches, and it also has flames! Last, but not least, #62 is out as well!!! Sex: Male Mutation: None Base Color: Persian Blue Marking 1: Saratoga Flames Marking 2: None Marking 3: Mongoose Splotches - Heterozygous Marking 4: None Marking 5: Harlequin Banded - Homozygous Congratulations to all owners on your new babies!!! Please let me know what names you'd like for them all. :) Each snek has a full and complete genome--all Wild Caught critters are rolled RANDOMLY (using random.org for those of you who may be curious) based on pre-determined roll percentages for each section. Here, I will outline each area in which a snek has passable genetics. Read below for more info. Base Color Mutations: Slot 1, Slot 2, Slot 3. (Yes, this means a snek may have multiple mutations simultaneously!! NOTE: Some mutations are allele-locked, meaning they will only appear on one slot. E.G., if Mutations A and B are both locked to slot 1, you cannot have a snek that displays BOTH A and B. You can only have one--bear in mind, you can have a snek that CARRIES both A and B, it will just display the one that is most dominant, but may pass on the less dominant gene as well.) Patterns: Slot 1, Slot 2, Slot 3, Slot 4, Slot 5. (Currently I am not planning more than 5 slots--this is because it will get really, really weird looking very quickly with more.) ** PAY ATTENTION to what gene is listed for each SLOT!! If you breed 2 sneks with a known recessive trait A together, but one has it on Slot 1 and the other has it on Slot 4, the resulting babies WILL NOT SHOW the pattern!! It will be carrying copies of the gene on 2 alleles! ** Pattern colors: Slot 1, Slot 2, Slot 3, Slot 4, Slot 5. (Yes, each slot gets its own unique color genes. Color is NOT tied to the marking in the slot, and the color genetics are present even if there is no marking visible in the slot.) Eye Color: (This will only effect the main color; these are going to be less effected by genetics, because I will match secondary colors to the eye base color, to make sure eyes stay nice looking.) How colors work: Yes, there is a fully coded genome. Each color has 3 components to it, and parents will pass along their genes accordingly. This may result in surprises at times, as dominance between the varying genes can have startling results. FAQ Re: Genetics 1. Are the genetics mendelian? Well--yes, and no. The colors are technically coded similarly to mendelian genetics, and will pass like mendelian genetics, but to give a wider range of colors (and simplify things for myself) I came up with a system that mixes hex code colors with genetic components--resulting in a very wide variety of colors which is mathematically tied to the genes. (I believe there are around 15,000 unique colors possible with this system. I use a hex code naming website to give the colors names, because I cannot name colors LOL) Other than colors though, all patterns and mutations are definitely Mendelian, and once you figure out the dominance of a gene, you will be able to predict breeding results using Punnett squares. 2. Can I see my snake's genome? No. Hey, you can't see it IRL just by looking at a snake, cat, dog, etc, right? Maybe in the future there'll be an option to sequence your snek's genes, but for now, you'll have to rely on tried and true testing methods--looking closely, and breeding. :) 3. Is it possible that wild caught or captive hatched sneks are carrying patterns or mutations that they are not showing? Yes indeed!!! In fact, I highly encourage breeding, because many of the more rare genes are already coded for and ARE being rolled for in wild caught sneks, and most of the time will only be present in their heterozygous (one copy) form. Which means they'll just look like normal sneks, but they could pass those genes on to babies. 4. I didn't get an open incubator space in time and now both are taken. Can I reserve one? No, I'm afraid not. That would be too difficult to keep track of fairly, guys. Keep an eye out and when it opens up next time, hopefully you'll get a spot. All sneks can make babies! Here's what you need to know about breeding: Each breeding comes with a fee of 9 GB. Bear in mind this may get you anywhere from 1-3 snakes, each with 3 pictures. I feel it's a fair price for the amount of work that goes into them. There is limited incubator space available, so breeding will be done by slots. There is only space for 2 Clutches in the Incubator! Breedings will be done in order of request. NOTE: You MUST EITHER own BOTH parents, or discuss a breeding agreement with the owner of the other parent if you want to breed. Discuss among yourselves how babie(s) will be distributed and if you want to pay a stud fee. All I do is get consent from both owners and make the magic happen. :) Clutches may be anywhere from 1 to 3 eggs--with a VERY RARE chance for 4!. All eggs will always hatch. Egg # frequencies are as follows: 1 egg: 20% - 2 eggs: 60% - 3 eggs: 19%, and if you roll a perfect 100, you will get 4 eggs--that is a 1% chance!. This is generated randomly at the time of breeding. Eggs take around 3-4 days to hatch. You will get 2 hatching stage images and 1 adult stage image per egg. Known Mutations & Patterns Please See the Markings & Mutations Guide here for PHOTOS of mutations and markings!! Publicly Available Studs Some users have kindly offered their sneks up for stud to those who would like to stud to them. Please PM them when planning a breeding--details on what they ask for in exchange for breedings will be listed beside their names. **Note that you MUST arrange this with the owners in advance.** Dark dragon #4756 -- Please PM them when planning a breeding--they request that if there is a second egg, they get one - they are fine with 2nd choice. Please note that dark dragon requires that all breedings to their sneks be non-inbreeding. Please check pedigrees for sneks noted as Captive Bred to be sure your sneks are not related. Male - Lupine - ID #3 Female - Caroline - ID #8 Female - Athena - ID#16 *Captive Bred* Male - Biohazard - ID#21 *Captive Bred* Female - Lemon - ID#23 *Captive Bred* ____________________________________ Dittles #120769 -- Please PM them when planning a breeding--They request that if there is a second egg, they get 2nd choice for that egg. Male - Nasu - ID #11 Male - Retatsu - ID#18 *Captive Bred* - No Stud Fee - Hiamovi doesn't require an egg from breedings with Retatsu Female - Kyabetsu - ID#19 *Captive Bred* - No Stud Fee - Hiamovi doesn't require an egg from breedings with Kyabetsu Female - Konfurawa - ID#20 *Captive Bred* ____________________________________ Ivy (#78902) -- Please PM them when planning a breeding--they request that if there is a second egg, they would like it, and are willing to take 2nd pick of eggs. If there are more than 2 eggs, they will discuss it with the person requesting the breeding. Male - Firna - ID#63 ____________________________________ shadowsspy (#9255) - Please PM them when planning a breeding - They request that if there is more than 1 egg, they get one--They request 1st Choice for egg based on clutch color. If there is a dark-colored egg/baby, they want first choice; if the clutch is largely light-colored, they indicate they are fine with 2nd choice. Male - Kronus - ID#40 0 players like this post! Like? Sold Dangernoodles Pedigree List: Acronyms: WC = Wild Caught CH = Captive Hatched (bought as eggs collected in the wild!) CBB = Captive Bred & Born See list below the spoiler - Links to pictures of each animal available there.
UPDATED to pretty table: 3/24. I should have all links working (except for sneks that haven't been publically listed yet, but which are present as ID # placeholders--those should be pretty obvious and I'm not spoiling the surprise ;D ) but if I messed any up, please let me know!!! 3/29: Updated again, accurate as of now! 4/5: HAH MS WORD I HAVE DEFEATED YOU. MS word things all " need to be curly, but HTML/CSS hate curly "s, apparently. So I engaged glorious battle with MS word and won, and now we have a pretty table with dividing lines. Also, we're up to date. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 06/04/19 @ 23:04:06 by Tori (#114506) |
