Trigger Warning: Blood, Death, Loss, Murder
[This is a generally very dark post! If you would prefer not to read it please send me a PM to get a shorter synopsis with less important information]

The storm raged on, the world cold and the puddles deep. PineClan's camp was muddy and cold, and the clan stood around in a tight circle, shoulder to shoulder, up against the trunk of the tree the Chieftains used for announcements. Perched on its lowest branches, Timberstar's gaze was cold, his fur held flat to his body.

Below him, the small, underweight warrior Ashblaze stood ankle deep in the mud, her tail lashing. "PineClan's tyranny has gone on long enough," she shouted, her ears flattened and her pupils contracted into slits, "we have forgotten the old ways, the true ways. In the eyes of the stars, this is unacceptable!"

Gasps of concern, anger, and discomfort echoed around the camp, and Ashblaze ignored the soft, pitiful questions of her apprentice, Cinderpaw. The young cat was at the edge of the circle, her whimpering barely audible over the sounds of the storm. Ashblaze's voice continued unabashedly, but she wouldn't look in Cinderpaw's direction. "The clan's beliefs were once in a brilliant and vibrant afterlife, a clan in the night sky, StarClan! They are all who are good and pure in life, all who deserve to be remembered. And we are denying them that right. Who are we to do that?"

She turned away from Cinderpaw and towards the other side of the circle. "The Rogue Clan, they have knowledge of fire, a force we view as untamed, wild, unyielding. And yet, they can not only create but control it!"

"ENOUGH!"

Timberstar's voice was deep, commanding, cold. "Ashblaze, daughter of a Turnclaw, your testimony is over and the evidence is clear. You are a Turnclaw, just like your father, spreading filthy lies to try to turn my clan against one another. You have poisoned our youth, and tried to do the same to our ranks. We will not fall for these dirty lies. You are sentenced to death."

Cinderpaw's voice split the air, and lightning crackled down in the distance. She screamed a single, heartbroken word, "NO!", and tried to lunge forwards to her mentor's side, but was deftly restrained by the massive white scarred Guard, Brokensnow. Timberstar lunged for Ashblaze from his perch, and her lips quirked into a smile. She dove forwards, anticipating his movement, and Cinderpaw strained against Brokensnow's grasp.

The lightning crashed again, and claws flew as both cats crashed into one another again and again. Things were going downhill quickly, and the sheer violence with which both cats fought was unmatched by anyone. Thunder was rolling across the sky, and the two broke apart, both bleeding, though Timberstar more profusely. His eyes were narrowed, and suddenly he smiled.

The Chief leaped for Cinderpaw, his claws outstretched for her throat. Ashblaze's movement was quicker than the eye could really catch and for all who could attest, the Turnclaw was suddenly there, in front of Cinderpaw. The blow meant for the apprentice landed squarely on Ashblaze, and their weight sent them tumbling over the young cat and skidding across the ground. The PineClan leader was knocked unconscious as his head smacked into the ground, and Ashblaze rolled back onto her feet, her limbs quivering as blood poured from her throat, beginning to bubble at her lips and nostrils.

The entire clan stood still in shock.

Ashblaze's terrified eyes turned towards Cinderpaw, who had been released as Brokensnow flew to her Chief's side. Cinderpaw lunged towards her mentor, and Ashblaze tried to take a step towards her before collapsing, eyes flashing left and right as she fought to breathe. Blood was fizzling and spitting at the gash in her throat as well, and when she heaved in a breath a whistling could be heard.

"Cinder.... paw..."

Cinderpaw was hysterical, screaming, crying, pawing at Ashblaze's face, both paws pressed to the cut in a vain attempt to stop the bleeding, but as she heard her name rasped, she leaned in close to hear what only a few others would be able to grasp.

"Juno... burn body... token..."

Ashblaze's voice cut off suddenly, and she began to jerk, her legs tensing and peddling. Within second, she was dead, and Cinderpaw's hysterics resumed.

---

This is where our journey begins. Timberstar's consciousness has returned, and Cinderpaw has become comatose, but no warrior escaped the horrors of the night. What are their reactions? Will they continue on as normal? Or begin to confront their deepest fears?

Frecklepaw|6 Moons Old|Apprentice|Cream/Chocolate Spotted Tabby Female Hetero Blue/Green Eyes| Location: Pineclan Camp|Mentions Indirectly: Briarstar

Frecklepaw was curled up in her nest in the apprentice's den, her nose buried into her tail. She stared blankly outside, still numb from the events that had just taken place. She was surprised and somewhat delighted that there were other cats who shared her misgivings about the way Pineclan worked, but her delight had turned to horror quite swiftly after seeing what happened to cats with such thoughts. Shivering, she turned her head away from the den entrance and sighed heavily, trying to muster the will to go see what duties she could do for the day. Frecklepaw began to think about what Briarstar would say to her if she saw her younger sister still curled in her nest and decided that the scolding she would get wasn't worth a few more moments of comfort. Standing up, she stretched her limbs one by one before emerging from the apprentice's den. Blinking to adjust her eyes to the light, she scanned the camp to see if she could find someone to tell her what to do for the day.

Briarstar|20 Moons Old| Chieftess| Torie and White Female w/ Green Eyes|Location: Pineclan Camp|Mentions Indirectly: Frecklepaw, Cinderpaw

Briarstar was curled tightly into a ball in her nest. The events with Ashblaze and Cinderpaw and shaken her and left her feeling many emotions. Mostly she felt angry. Angry that a clanmate had betrayed the clan, and even angrier that she tried to poison the mind of one of their youth, the very future of the clan. Aside from that, she felt confused at how she had missed the signs of a Turnclaw in their midst, and had cursed at herself under her breath, vowing to be more vigilant and harsh in her vetting. Briarstar had yet to see how Frecklepaw was doing, and even though she knew her sister was loyal, she just had to make sure that her mind hadn't been reached by the poison of a Turnclaw.

Willowshade|Warrior of Pineclan|Cream and Gray tabby female, with blue eyes|Location: Camp|Mentions: Jaystep, Open

the camp had started to settle in the aftermath of the recent fight, but Willowshade never felt more awake. She strode on unsheathed claws, her head weaving back and forth in exhilaration at what she had been witness to. It wasn't the first time she had seen Turnclaws killed by their Chief, but it never ceased to impress her, the sheer will and power their great leader contained.
"Did you see? That move he used to slit her throat. It really is advanced, of course Ashblaze couldn't match Timberstar." she relayed the observations of the fight to any cat who would give her their ear, her tail tip twitching in delight. It had been a marvel like always, to watch such a great warrior fight. Willowshade could only hope to match them someday.
Her icy gaze twitched towards the ring where the clan had been formed, the remnants of the nights battle slowly getting washed away from the rain. For a moment, she imagined herself there, surrounded by her clan, claws ready to tear down any who resisted. the thought sent a pleasant prickle down her spine, only adding to her energy.
A movement caught the corner of her eye, and she spotted Jaysteps familiar pelt, her back and forth pacing now aimed his direction, a purr rumbling deep in her chest in greeting.
"Jaystep! Please tell me you havn't already organized a hunting patrol without me. The rain might have flushed out some prey, and if not, I feel I could chase down the wind with the energy in my limbs today." She bumped the tom with her shoulder rather teasingly, his being a guard meaning he gained the sweetest bits of her personality, and the admiring gaze reserved only for those stationed above her.
----
Frostheart|Turnclaw kin of Pineclan|scarred, Unkempt white and brown she-cat with pale blue eyes|Location: Camp|Mentions: Frecklepaw

Frostheart had been still for so long, she could have been mistaken for dead had it not been for the faintest rise and fall of her chest, and the slightest hint of blue from her down-turned gaze. The scene from earlier played over and over behind her eyes when they were closed, but when they were open, she could still see the claw marks in the mud, the blood not quite erased from where Ashblaze had taken her last breath. She had made sure not to react, moons of suffering under Pineclans rule had trained her in that, but now on her own in the ferns at the fringe of the camp, she couldn't help but tremble. That could have easily been her, thrown to the mercy of her clanmates and chief. Ashblaze had been a fool, to speak her mind against the cats who ruled them. Nothing had been achieved, nothing had changed. The cats of the clan still milled about, went to sleep without a second thought, not realizing and not caring Ashblazes death was as much on their claws as Timberstars.
Frosthearts eyes had widened, and were flickering back and forth over the muddied ground, her heart beginning to race. Nothing changed. Like Ashblaze, she was going to die there, and wander the night sky forever lost. For a moment, she wondered if her heart would burst from the pressure and fear of it all, and then a soft voice played through her mind.
'Stop fighting. You can never win. Who are we to stand against those with power? Keep your head down, accept your place.' Frostheart felt herself grow still once more. Those words had been spoken, the last words by her brother as he had met Timberstars claws. Accept your place.
The sound of words roused Frostheart, her tired eyes finding the pelt of Frecklepaw, though stopping before she could see the apprentices face. It would do no good for her to catch the younger cats eye, and Frostheart had little to say to anyone, let along a cat who was practically still a kit, and especially not anything to say to the kin of Briarstar.

Frecklepaw|6 Moons Old|Apprentice|Cream/Chocolate Spotted Tabby Female Hetero Blue/Green Eyes| Location: Pineclan Camp|Mentions Indirectly: Willowshade, Jaystep, Frostheart

Movement caught Frecklepaw's eye and she turned her head to watch Willowshade bound over to Jaystep. She shuddered at how exhilarated the she-cat looked, knowing full well how into Ashblaze's trial Willowshade had been. Frecklepaw didn't know how WIllowshade could do it, how she could be so invested in this lifestyle, to be so excited over the killing of a clanmate. Frecklepaw sighed inwardly, wishing that she could share in the she-cat's excitement and feel the same way that she felt. It certainty would make her life a lot easier.
Turning away from the two cats, she gazed around the camp, catching sight of Frostheart. She felt pain in her heart when looking at the tattered cat. It wasn't fair that a cat had to go through such pain for the mistakes of their kin. As much as she longed to talk to her and comfort her, she knew it would do no good. She and Frostheart would both get into trouble for it, and she did not want to cause the she-cat any more pain, so she tore away her gaze.

Sunbird|20 Moons Old|Shaman|Golden tabby Mollie|Mentions Directly: Cinderpaw, Timberstar, OPEN|Mentions Indirectly: All|Location: Camp

The shaman pushed her way through the camp entrance, a scowl was on her face. In her jaw's, she had borage leaves, burnet leaves, burdock root, and broom tightly clamped. Her amber eyes were fixated on her destination, the shaman's den. The she-cat did not to speak with anyone, if any cat dared to cross her path right now, they might be in danger of having their ear torn. Quickly moving across camp, the shaman did not acknowledge her clan mates, as she passed by Willowshade and the other cats.
Reaching her den, Sunbird pushed inside. Once reaching her den, the she-cat let out a sigh. The shaman's amber eyes fell on the only other cat in the den, Cinderpaw. Passing the unconscious apprentice, the gold tabby she-cat headed for the herb store. Inside she placed the herbs in their rightful places, stepping back the she-cat looked the store over. It was relatively well stocked, still the weather was good, so it might be an idea to head out again. Taking an ivy leaf, the she-cat pulled out some goldenrod and cobwebs. Although Timberstar would probably complain like a badger with a thorn in its paw, Sunbird needed to check on the chieftain's wound. Walking back, to the main part of the den, the shaman let out another sigh. Leavin the ivy leaf, Sunbird walked over to Cinderpaw. Pawing at the young she-cat's side, just to make sure that she was not just sleeping, the shaman shook her head. Nothing, like always. Reaching over, she grabbed a wet piece of moss, pressing the wet wad of moss to the apprentice's mouth, she dripped water into the young she-cat's half open mouth.
The she-cat sort of felt bad for the apprentice, she just hoped that the Turnclaw had not corrupt the young cat's mind too much. Placing the moss to the side again, she went to pick up the ivy leaf. Heading for the den entrance, the she-cat paused for a heartbeat and looked over her shoulder back at the apprentice, Sunbird then turned back and continued out. Once she reached the outside, Sunbird looked around for Timberstar. Her amber eyes could not make out the chieftain, so she sat down and started to prepare the poultice. Her eyes keeped gliding over the camp, keeping an eye out for the large tom.

Falconkit|4 Moons Old|Kit|Thick furred calico tom|Mentions Directly: OPEN|Mentions Indirectly: Lavenerkit, Skinktail, Cinderpaw, Ashblaze, Timberstar|Location:

Falconkit was tightly curled up in the nest he shared with Lavenderkit and Skinktail, the kit's back was against Lavenderkit's. Hearing some noise outside, the young tom drew his fluffy tail over his nose. He did not want to get up yet, not this soon. As the camp became more and more busy, even he could not sleep any more. Uncurling, the kit let out a large yawn. His blue eyes went to the nursery entrance, as his eyes adjusted a bit, Falconkit remembered what had happened yesterday. Not moving too much just yet, so he would not wake his sister, the young tom placed his head on his paws.
Skinktail had ushered both of the kits inside quickly, as things started to ecelate. They had seen Ashblaze confront Tiberstar and then, they had been pushed back into the nursery. Unbenounced to their mother though, he had managed to open up a small hole in the side of the den. Through this he had been able to see the last moments, the moments when Timberstar killed the Turnclaw. So that was death, the kit thought. He was brave, ever since he could remember he'd wanted to be a brave cat, but could he really kill? Closing his eyes, the young tom could still see the look on Ashblaze's face. How was Cinderpaw? He thought. His tiny claws dug into the nest, as a new thought sprang into his mind. He was 4 moons old now, he would be a 'Charge' now. Once he realized this, Falconkit could not stay laying in the nest anymore. Standing up, he made sure that he would not disturb Lavenerkit too much, the kit walked to the entrance of the nursery. Peeking his head out, he breathed in the the warm air. Would he be chosen as a 'Charge' of Guard or Chieftain? The calico kit thought, his paws where itching at the thought. The again, he looked back at his sister, Lavenerkit would probably have more luck than him. Who cared, he could go out of camp now- under supervision- but it would be better than being stuck in camp. Pushing his way all the way out of the nursery, the calico kit sat outside. Wrapping his long tail around his paws, Falconkit looked around camp and started to clean himself.

Lavenderkit || Female || 3moons || Smokey black pineclan kit with emerald green eyes || Location- Pineclan Camp || Mentions- {Direct} Falconkit {Indirectly} Ashblaze, Timberstar, Willowshade, Briarstar

Lavenderkit was drawn out of sleep by the commotion cause by Willowshade, she heard something about the prior day's events. Lavender hadn't seen any of it, but she definitely heard, It sounded pretty bad. Lavenderkit wriggled away from her moms side and padded on as quietly as she could to the nursery entrance, seeing her brother sitting outside the den. She dropped into a crouch and began to creep towards the other kitten. The tip of her tail twitched every so often as she crept forward, but she tripped over her own paws as she went to jump, she left the ground but crash landed to the right of Falconkit.
She twisted back onto her feet and shook out her pelt, "What are you doing?" she inquired, "You look like you're thinkin' about something." Lavenderkit sat facing the older kit, her head tilted waiting for any response.

Falconkit|4 Moons Old|Kit|Thick furred calico Tom|Mentions Directly: Lavenerkit|Mentions Indirectly: Sunbird, Willowshade|Location: Camp

His blue eyes moved over the cats in camp, pausing for a moment on Willowshine. How could the warrior be so energetic? The young tom opened his mouth in a big yawn and closed his eyes for a moment. Suddenly he heard something behind him, Falconkit looked back over his shoulder. Seeing Lavender fly towards him, the Falconkit lifted up his right paw, just to make sure she would not land on it. The young tom lifted up his eyebrow and he chuckled, "Nice landing", Falconkit commented.
He was a bit surprised, that she made it to her paws again so quickly. "Well.. you know", Falconkit said, not knowing how to explain it. "I'm 4 moons", the kit simply stated. Would Lavenderkit know what he was thinking about? Lifting up his leg, he pawed at the band around his leg. The badger claw dug a bit into his soft paw pad, what would his real token be? He wondered. "Do you think a Guard or Chieftain will notice me?", Falcon kit asked his sister. Spotting Sunbird come out of her den, Falconkit scowled, "I hope Sunbird did not notice me, I don't want to become a shaman", the young tom stated.

Briarstar|20 Moons Old| Chieftess| Torie and White Female w/ Green Eyes|Location: Pineclan Camp|Mentions Indirectly: Timberstar, Lavenderkit, Falconkit

Briarstar carefully stepped out of her nest, careful not to wake Timberstar. Looking at the tom, she made a mental note to remind him to get his wounds checked out. She rolled her eyes at the thought of that, knowing he would complain and try to get out of it. Once she was clear of the nest, she stretched out her muscles, flexing her claws into the soft dirt. The tortie slipped out of the den, seating herself just outside of its entrance.
Gazing around camp, she felt content. Cats were beginning to wake, and life was carrying on like normal. It was almost like the previous night had never happened. She watched Lavenderkit try and sneak up on Falconkit, and twitched her whiskers in amusement when she tripped. She'll grow into those paws someday, she thought to herself. Briarstar watched the kits idly for a few moments before scanning the camp once more.

Lavenderkit || Female || 3moons || Smokey black pineclan kit with emerald green eyes || Location- Pineclan Camp || Mentions- {Direct} Falconkit {Indirectly} Ashblaze, Timberstar, Briarstar, Jaystep, Brokensnow

"Oh Yeah..." She kept forgetting that Falconkit was a moon older than her, "I don't know." she said, her voice rising sharply in thought near the end of the simple phrase. She looked over to the Chieftains' den, then to Jaystep and guard-to-be Wilowshade. She stood after a second, "I bet that they will when you get to go out though!" she exclaimed, realizing as a charge he could leave camp- heavily attended of course, but it was more than what she could do. "You could be the youngest cat to get a REAL token!" she said naively.
The kit bounced twice on her paws before nudging Falconkit's shoulder, "No need to worry, as long as you do what you're told, you'll be fine."

Timberstar | PineClan Chieftain | 36 Moons | Tom | Camp | Briarstar ; Sunbird ; Ashblaze
Timberstar, though he was not woken by his mate's movements, was called into consciousness soon thereafter. The absence of Briarstar's warmth was enough to rouse him slightly, and after that the sore muscles and sharp pangs from open wounds brought him the rest of the way to awakening. He grumbled audibly, opening his eyes slowly one at a time, huffing air out of his nose rather irritably. Morning was here, even if it was still clouded over and dark. He made to rise all at once, and grunted, quickly dropping back down onto his belly, realizing that this was far from the right approach. With another irritable puff of air, he gathered all of his limbs underneath him and rose slowly, cautiously, waiting for his body to acclimate before beginning to move. He moved up to be alongside Briarstar at the entrance to their den, looking out across the camp silently.

One of his cuts, a particularly deep one that had reopened his shoulder injury, had begun to bleed again, staining along his spine and down his front leg, but he ignored it, dropping onto his haunches next to the Chieftess. He gently nuzzled her neck fur as a morning greeting, before turning back towards the more active camp. There was still some evidence of the battle from the previous night in the mud, dark pooled blood mostly cleared out but deep markings in the earth and impressions left from bodies hitting the ground remained. He swished his thick tail across the ground, and caught sight of Sunbird doing something with her little... herby things. He knew full well that she'd be coming for him soon.

Jaystep | PineClan Guard | 44 Moons | Tom | Camp | Willowshade ; Ashblaze ; Timberstar
Jaystep's heavyset frame was planted firmly near the entrance and exit of the warrior's den, where he waited to jump unsuspecting warriors and assign work to them. His piercing blue eyes locked onto Willowshade when his unofficial apprentice pranced towards him, obviously still living the thrill of the night before. He had to agree, it was a great example of the things that their Chief could do when required. He gave a little smile, and inclined his head slightly to the young warrior. "No patrols yet. If you feel up to it, it's good practice to try to organize one yourself," he offered with mild amusement in his voice. It really was good for Willowshade to try it out, if she were to become a guard at any point she would need to know how to pick and choose cats for patrols and keep things organized. He turned back towards the clearing.

"And of course," he added under his breath, as though conspiring about something, "Timberstar's battle skills are advanced. Before he was Chief, we fought together many times. That throat slit move was a bit of a specialty of his." Jaystep chuckled slightly, leaning back. "Someday maybe we can teach it to you," he said, enjoying the idea. It would be good to get some actual training in with a competent warrior sometime soon.

Briarstar|20 Moons Old| Chieftess| Tortie and White Female w/ Green Eyes|Location: Pineclan Camp|Mentions: Timberstar, Sunbird, Frecklepaw

Briarstar heard her mate's movements in the den, his grunting signalling that his wounds must be bothering him. When he emerged, she returned his greeting and let out a soft purr. She began to gently groom the stained fur on his shoulder, being very careful to avoid the wound, wanting to wait for Sunbird to inspect it before she touched it. She stopped for a moment and gazed at him. "You should go let Sunbird check your wounds, I hear she's been looking for you." She glanced at the shaman, observing her semi-irritated expression. "She doesn't seem too happy today, so I wouldn't want to irritate her further if I were you," Briarstar said, with a mischievous tone to her voice. "Besides, we need to discuss a choice for Frecklepaw's mentor."

Sunbird|20 Moons Old|Shaman|Golden tabby Mollie|Mentions Directly: OPEN|Mentions Indirectly: Lavenderkit, Falconkit, Brierstar, Timberstar|Location: Camp

The she-cat looked around, as she saw the rest of the clan start to wake up. Even the kits had come out, her golden eyes moved over them, just to make sure that they were alright. Everything seemed fine, the kits were talking, what about? Before she could think further though, the she-cat spotted movement near the chieftains den. Turning, the saman saw that both, Timberstar and Brierstar had woken up. Even from her position, the keen eyed shaman could see the chieftain's wound had reopened and had started to bleed again. Sunbird shook her head, returning the pulp to the ivy leaf, the she-cat turned and headed inside of her den again, to fetch some more herbs, to stem the tom's bleeding and numb the pain he was probably feeling, though knowing him he would never admit it. What did these cats have, about admitting when they were in pain? It would make her job far easier.
Inside, Sunbird grabbed a dandelion leaf, a few dock leaves, and a horsetail bushel. Briskly heading outside again, the shaman chewed up the horsetail and mixed it in with the goldenrod. Sitting up, she looked the poultice over, this should be good enough. Looking to the chieftains again, she wondered if Timberstar would come over or if she would have to walk up there too him. Gathering her herbs and cobwebs on the ivy leaf, Sunbird prepared for both.

Falconkit|4 Moons Old|Kit|Thick furred calico Tom|Mentions Directly: Lavenderkit|Mentions Indirectly: |Location: Camp

"Haha, you're right", Falconkit said, "I won't just be the youngest, but I'll also get the biggest token ever", the young tom boosted. "I'll defeat a bear and take one of its fangs, as a prize", Falconkit said, puffing out his chest. He was going to be great, Falconkit was going to prove to all that he was worthy of becoming a guard or even chief.
A mischievous smile suddenly came to the kit's face, as his blue eyes moved back to looking at his sister. "Let's play", Falconkit said, falling into a crouch and then jumping at Lavenderkit. The young tom made sure not to jump with all of his strength, he was a bit heavier, taller, and more muscular than Lavenderkit. This probably was, because his parents had been quite big and he was a tom, so he would be a bit more muscular than the she-kit. Letting out a roar, as he landed just infront of his sister, the kit bared his teeth. Reaching out his paw, Falconkit- instead of smacking Lavenderkit- placed his large paw on the she-kit's head and ruffled her fur. All the while, he had a smug smile on his face. This whole thing would probably get him smack, by Lavanderkit. Although he knew this, he was having fun playing around.

Willowshade|Warrior of Pineclan|Cream and Gray tabby female, with blue eyes|Location: Camp|Mentions: Jaystep, Frecklepaw, Frostheart

Willowshade's tail tip twitched several times back and forth, with glinting eyes at Jaysteps words.
"I would chase down the leader of those rogues myself if you or our chiefs but asked." she purred, and while the tone was light, it was not untrue. Her icy glare swiveled around the camp, but before she could choose cats (many of who still seemed asleep) she heard Jaysteps latest words, and her head snapped back towards him, this time unable to contain the rather excited raise of her hackles.
"I could think of no greater honor." She stared admiringly at Jaystep for a moment longer, then gave a small shake of her head.
"As for patrol," her eyes caught Frostheart lurking on the fringe of the camp, and then fell to Frecklepaw, who seemed awake at least.
"Umbraclaw, and Frecklepaw, they can take Frostheart since she does't look like shes doing much, and," she rolled her eyes at the white warrior, then paused, looking towards the apprentice den, knowing her next choice may be slightly controversial.
"Cinderpaw. As much as I hate to think of the Turnclaws poisoning the minds of our apprentices, one can never be too careful and it will be good to see how Ashblazes death effected her performance. Besides, using her paws will strengthen her, physically and mentally." She turned towards Jaystep, hoping this was acceptable.
"Any cat who is able and not scheduled for a later patrol, can hunt in shifts so that we are both filling the prey pile, as well as keeping the camp adequately guarded."
Her plumy tail wrapped around her paws, and even though she was not an apprentice, she couldn't help but feel the faint stirrings of wanting to impress the older, more experienced tom. She did not waver in her words however, and when she finished she held her head high, confident as always.

Frostheart|Turnclaw kin of Pineclan|scarred, Unkempt white and brown she-cat with pale blue eyes|Location: Camp|Mentions: Frecklepaw, Falconkit, Lavanderkit

Frostheart could practically feel Frecklepaws gaze on her, and her head bowed even lower until the sensation passed. She didn't like being seen, it only led to trouble. Even still, she knew sitting around would lead to harsh words as well, so she began to slowly creep from her resting spot, wincing slightly as she stretched one of her back legs. The cold and wet of the rain had stiffened the injury, and caused her to limp slightly as she moved further into the camp, stopping to sit now where she could be given orders, but far enough away to feel 'safe'.
She realized however, almost to late that she was exceptionally close to the nursery, and as the squeaks of the kits met her ears, she couldn't help but prick them in dull interest, watching the two play. It was such innocence, and for a moment she almost felt joy at watching the pair.
Then, she realized too soon, it would be more claws to avoid, more mouths to feed, more orders. She shuddered, and folded back into herself, this time watching the kits not out of curious interest, but mild fear and suspicion. No cat was innocent in this clan, no one was safe from the order of things.

(Lol sorry if Frostheart is so...dark.)

Lavenderkit || Female || 3moons || Smokey black pineclan kit with emerald green eyes || Location- Pineclan Camp || Mentions- {Direct} Falconkit {Indirectly}

Lavenderkit let out a little squeak as Falconkit pounced, stepping back a bit expecting him to land on her. He landed in front of her and she began to play along, letting out a little hiss as he ruffled her fur. She swat at his paw softly before changing her aim to the other kits body, she attempted to bat him on the shoulder a couple times before crouching and pouncing at the older kit.
She let out a giggle, "I'm the bear, you have to beat me!" Lavenderkit exclaimed referring to his token statement.

Timberstar | PineClan Chieftain | 36 Moons | Tom | Camp | Briarstar ; Sunbird ; Ashblaze ; Frecklepaw ; Umbraclaw
Timberstar's whiskers twitched when Briarstar lapped at the fur along his back, cleaning the blood off of his spine. His whisker's twitched irritably as she spoke about him visiting their Shaman. His fur fluffed down along his ruff, and he flicked his eyes down to the ground, no longer watching his Shaman's movements. He rolled his neck and looked over at Briarstar when the Chieftess mentioned her younger sister's mentor. With a deep, rumbling voice he said a few short words. "Umbraclaw. Spoke with her before the trial."

The Chief had never been one for long woven stories and elaborate dialogue. He spoke few words, with few semantics, but his point was clear. Umbraclaw, who he knew to be a close friend to his mate, and a strong Guard, would be mentoring Frecklepaw from this point forwards. His original choice would have been to relegate Brokensnow to mentoring Frecklepaw, as she had been tried multiple times as a mentor, but alas... Ashblaze's little stunt had left him a little short pawed in the mentor department. The heavily scarred guard would be in charge of fixing what damage the Turnclaw had left on the apprentice.

He rose onto his paws, and nodded in Sunbird's direction, letting Briarstar know where he was headed. Then he slowly made his way across the camp, thinking it better to get his wounds dealt with early rather than waiting too long for the Shaman to get irritable. He dropped onto his haunches at her side, and bent down to make it so that she could reach him. He was very large in comparison to her, and this way they could both be back to their normal chores sooner rather than later. His whole body was littered with scratches in a way he had not experienced before. It angered him slightly that a Turnclaw like Ashblaze could have done so much damage to him. Without his little trick shot at Cinderpaw, he truly believed that his opponent could have gotten the better of him. He swished his tail with frustration, waiting for Sunbird to begin her work.

Jaystep | PineClan Guard | 44 Moons | Tom | Camp | Willowshade ; Ashblaze ; Frostheart ; Umbraclaw ; Frecklepaw ; Cinderpaw
Jaystep's cool blue gaze studied Willowshade as she thought, studying those who were awake with thoughtfulness in her eyes. It was good practice for her to work out patrols, one of the many jobs which she may be entrusted as a Guard. His tail swished as she spoke aloud, puzzling through her ideas and delegating work in a relatively even manner. When she mentioned Cinderpaw, his whiskers twitched, though he did not speak until she was finished outlining her plans for patrols for the day. When she was finished, sitting and looking at him with her ever present confidence, he inclined his head slightly.

"All sounds well to me," he said evenly, "save for the fact that Cinderpaw's remained unconscious since we took the body of the Turnclaw from her. Your reasoning is sound- the moment that she is determined fit for duty by Sunbird, an assessment will be issued and her training will resume in earnest, but as it stands... not much we can do for a half dead kit. With any luck, Sunbird can get her up and moving by the end of the week- we can't bear to lose too much time on her 'mourning'."

Carefully he rose onto his paws, and called out to the cats around him. "Umbraclaw will be leading a border patrol with Frecklepaw and Frostheart," his voice was deep and commanding, "Willowshade and I will be heading out on a separate hunting patrol. Brokensnow will be in command of camp duties for the day, speak with her if you wish to organize another patrol. We expect everyone to have gone out today!"

He turned to Willowshade, and nodded at her with a small smile of approval. "Time for a little exercise of our own," he said much quieter, as though they were keeping a secret. He intended to show her some of the most important things about the terrain in their home, maybe snag some prey on the way if they could.
