You know what sucks the fun out of this game more than anything else I can think of? Nesting. Nothing says compelling gameplay like having to scroll through a long list of materials to either nest lionessses one by one or generate Nesting Materials one by one so I can... nest lionesses one by one.

I understand nesting is there to drain the economy of things like feathers, but let's take a look at what nesting actually does for your average player:

-Adds needless downtime to project planning

-Forces you to move materials in and out of storage if you don't want a giant list to scroll through

-Removes realism (yes of course every lion in Africa flings a couple feathers on the ground before shitting out cubs)

-Over-penalizes with a complete wipe of a litter if you fail to nest, holding every player hostage to this mechanic

A change really needs to happen here. If nesting is going to stay, we HAVE to be able to generate nesting materials at Monkey Business in a more click-friendly fashion. This is agonizing on desktop - I can only imagine how terrible it is if you only play on mobile.

I propose this: let us group feathers and plants and whatnot in the same way you can group-select items to sell at Monkey Business. None of this box-ticking. You click generate and the game spits out however many Nesting Materials you would expect given the amount of uses you entered, plus change if there is any. I don't know how you would improve the mobile version of this as mobile is obsessed with making you select stuff one by one in every drop down menu anyway.

TL,DR; Either revert the game to its previous nesting-free status or let us batch craft nesting materials if the mechanic is staying.

It didn't really change anything, it was meant to discourage people from flooding the TC with cubs. Clearly, it didn't.

Definitely looking for an easier way to nest on mobile, but, I feel like just lowering the amount of uses a nest needs materials of would be nice, like, down to 5 (just by one) gives you on average, 1 more nest per every 5 nests you would normally make, sure it's not a huge increase, but it's something, and it would be helpful, especially for newbies who don't have a hoard at all

If that was really the reason, that seems like the wrong solution to the problem. Why not just further incentivize chasing cubs?

Lowering the amount wouldn't help AT ALL, that's just more clicking people have to do when making nests. It would actually make the issue worse.

Aardwolf you'd think they'd have thought it through that way but alas, nope.

people still mass breed cubs though? and flood the tree with junk? so what would really change?

also. @dutch I just mentioned paying to unlock slots because the devs would NEVER simply give you something for free that they couldn't sink their claws on to make money even if for a tiny little bit, thinking every slot is like idk, 2gb. Thats why I mentioned the small payment to unlock space.

Some sort of compromise would be nice, like lionesses auto-nest, but you do still need to have 6 uses of nesting materials available for her. Still uses up feathers/etc, but requires a little less effort

absolutely. the nesting crafting feature is just asinine and does the opposite of save time.

The nesting thing has always been annoying. I’ve lost multiple litters from my piebald girls because I was busy or stressed and forgot about nesting them. I lost my favorite lioness’s last litter because I forgot to nest her. And as someone who pretty much only plays on mobile, I agree that it’s REALLY ANNOYING and takes a ridiculous amount of time.

EDIT: You know what else I just remembered that also bothers me? Nesting Material can be used as an amusement item. Which might be nice sometimes I guess, but it’s frustrating when I spend a ton of time intentionally using non-amusement items to craft nesting materials so I still have enough toys for my pride, and then I accidentally use up the nesting material while playing with my lions. Although I understand how this could be helpful to some people, allowing them to turn leaves and stuff into toys.

I started playing this game three weeks ago I think, honestly don't think nesting is the biggest problem for newbies. I've got so much nesting material it's insane. Only thing is I can see how it's a problem for older players since they have big breeding projects. I'd say I vote to change the nesting system but not remove it.

The best way to fix nesting is to remove it

Breeding was indeed way nicer before nesting was added. I've lost litters too - because I swore I nested, and the game doesn't tell you anywhere on your den that you haven't, so there's no real reminder (I do it every morning after I get my rollover summary - so if it somehow gets missed there I'm boned).

I never craft nesting material because of how tedious it is - I literally just hoard items and buy it from MB. I save my explore craftables for decors. So support for getting rid of it, or making actually making nesting material less tedious so it's worth my time.

I'm not a fan of the idea of removing nesting, but adjusting it so that it can be easier for people is fine with me.
The problem for me with making it like Monkey Business is that I always forget to hold down CTRL, so I have to repeat the process of finding the items I want to sell, and making sure I didn't accidentally scroll over something I want to keep.

Also the idea of it removing realism is just not really an argument. Lioden has some realism, but it for sure isn't realistic at all.

omg - nesting wasn't even an original part of the game?

next to the mood mechanic, nesting is probably one of the biggest thorns in my ass about Ld.
support all the way. I'd love for it to be removed so I can save my feathers
