Some tips I've learned over time: Don't "tick"- aka, use long flowing lines to get a basis of what you want, the only thing you ever need short lines for are bits of fluff here and there, like the neck. Use references! With the one wolf facing forward, having the head like that is like making it break its neck to get that way, look at good front facing references. The shading on the face looks nice though, keep it up! 0 players like this post! Like? |

I like the poses of the sketchy ones to the right! They're much more unique than the typical, standard side/front poses that people usually do. I think that the position of the head on the more developed figure in the center looks somewhat off. I can't totally explain it. 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Alpha thank you! I'll definitely keep it in mind! @Elliot Yeah, I think that the tilted head kinda makes it weird looking 0 players like this post! Like? |

I like what you’re doing with the fur there, very pretty and I love the colouring. The lines are really sketchy, but I’m guessing you’re going more painterly so it’s not the most important thing to clean them up - especially since you say you’ve hardly started. The head of the middle one seems a little craned though, I don’t think a dogs neck could bend like that... Maybe you can alter the body position a little to the side instead of changing the head, so you can protect the gorgeous colouring you’ve got there? Or you could rotate it to be less straight down, I think that would fix it too. Also I don’t know how realistic you’re going with this, but the eye of the middle one is at a weird angle - maybe rotate it to be more parallel to the snout? And the ears could totally be in the current position, but depending on breed I think they’d be a bit more perpendicular to the snout? Some dogs just look like that though. For composition I’d say maybe have the others dropping back a little more, forming more of a V? To put some perspective in there and emphasize the middle one. Or you could pull the right ones a little forward to have them in a straight line, it seems a little weirdly between the two compositions at the moment. Hhh I’m not good at giving critique, hope this helps though! (Also sorry I write too much, I’m all but throwing a book at you my dude.) 0 players like this post! Like? Yes, that's something I forgot to mention: I love the detail in the fur and the shading that you have on that part of the muzzle! I don't have a quality editor or a tablet, and I can't do that shit. ygvuhjbkl 0 players like this post! Like? |
