It was decided that the flood event was a bit outdated and not as well enjoyed as most months, so last year the June event was completely overhauled, with an all new Egyptian theme, event mechanics, etc. Wiki page about the new event is here.

That meant all the Flood Pit items from the old version of the event had nowhere to go, so they changed it to a seasonal feature - every wet season the Flood Pit is accessible, and items can be bought with SB. New things are added to it every now and then too, in keeping with the flood theme.
