okay so we all know what cocoa beans are, hopefully. and if you dont then im deeply sorry for your chocolateless life.

so, chocolate is poisonous to many animals, including felines, including lions. typically when ingested in a moderate amount it will just cause the animal to throw up and feel sick, but if ingested in mass quantities it can lead to death.

my suggestion for a cocoa bean item would be that it can be used on a lion to make it "throw up" and gain anywhere from 5%-20% in their hunger bar. there would be a daily cap of 5 maybe and the flavor text for the cap would say something along the lines of "Better not eat anymore, youre feeling too queasy." in addition for each cocoa bean eaten there is maybe a 10-20% chance that it can take away 1-2 stats. or if the item doesnt cause a lion to lose stats (since thats a big, sorta counterproductive risk) , there could be like a 40% chance that it takes away 10-30% energy (maybe a lion cant eat a cocoa bean without having energy?).

so why do i want this item? i think an item will be very useful when trying to get stats. many stat items are food items and require lions to be hungry and right now you just have to wait for your lion to be hungry but with cocoa beans you could be able to build up stats at a quicker pace, even though it comes with a risk.

[EDIT] to stop the rise of stat monsters lions with higher stats would lose less hunger percentage (could be as low as just 1%). very high statted lions would lose no hunger, therefore the item would be ineffective on them. it makes sense because a strong individual would never throw up from some measly little beans, right?!

a cocoa bean could be bought in the gorilla enclave for maybe 30+ monkey teeth or as an event item. or it could be gained by winning a game. really whatever seems most appropriate

please comment your feedback and/or suggestions below! im curious to hear what you guys think! also sorry if this has been previously suggested, i looked around for a bit but didnt find anything but i could have been wrong, oops.

- the risk of losing stats is too high to invest
- the price of monkey teeth may be too high to invest
- if a lion were to lose stats as a result of eating cocoa beans they could specifically lose strength stats since throwing up makes you feel weaker
- this item could cause stat monsters to build stats way too quickly (suggested that the item is expensive with a heavy consequence to counteract this)
- barring high stat lions from using the items isnt fair (suggested that the MONSTER monsters get barred, others high statted lions lose maybe 1%-5%?)

This is a pretty interesting suggestion! It would definitely be nice to have something that lowers our hunger. I always make the mistake of spamming explore and then my lion's hunger bar going to 0%. before I remember I have stat items. As long as the item isn't OP as fuck, I don't see why it can't be added in-game!

Many items like this have been suggested before to lose hunger, and I see you add how it can make you lose stats or energy as well, but I still can't agree.
We're trying to slow stat monsters, and even though this can remove stats (if you want it to be that way), I don't think it can help really.

No support. If we made a way for a king with 10,000stats to be able to lose hunger then it doesn't matter if there is a chance for stat lose. The small stat lose wont affect anything is 5-20% hunger is removed. That is 7 Egg yolks a lion can eat. And even though getting 15 stats from one yolk is rare, that still gives that lion a chance for 105 stats. And with a 5 a day cap? thats potentially 100% hunger lose and 525 potential stats gained. If repeated daily that is 15,750 Stats, in one month. And to be honest, it wouldn't just be the stat monsters using it. Anyone could use it. Meaning stats is now just the same as NCL markings. Any king could easily get 1000+ stats in just a few days. So it's a big no from me.

yeah thats why i think it should be a pretty expensive item with pretty heavy consequences, i agree it could get OP pretty quicky and thats why theres a lot of restraint and cost to come along with it

maybe lions above a certian number of stats would be unable to use the item? although i dont know how "fair" that would be or if coding could allow that

maybe something like the higher stats a lion has the lower the hunger percentage they would lose. and a very high statted lion would never lose hunger. it also makes sense cause a strong individual would be ~too stronk~ to throw up from some measly little beans

lioden already does things like nerf stat monsters and make cubs born from high stat parent(s) much lower, basically lioden coders are trying to control stat monsters, so while id like to get my king a few extra stats a day, i just cant see mods being ok with this

@glo -- that is another thing i was concerned with, if barring high statted lions from using it is "fair" or not, but it does control stat monsters. and i propose that it only gets barred from the true MONSTERS

See with something like that, making it where stat monsters couldnt use it, it would be like discrimination and it would be the same as if they weren't allowed to use egg yolks. No one can't be singled out from using an item or not. If a newbie can use it then the owner of a stat monster must be able to do it too.

@taccato -- i mean there are other "unfair" things like that on lioden, like certian explore encounters where you can find sb only go to people with i think less that 3000sb. and for a lot of stat monsters nothing really is hard for them to get with their massive stocks of sb, gb, and items. i dont think one item will ruin their day.

I still get the sb encounters and i have 10,000+ sb.

And it isn't the point of 'They won't mind' It's the point of it would be breaking the rules. Singling people out or discrimination isn't allowed. That's like me flat out saying X, Y, and Z have to many ferus mutations, they aren't allowed to get any more or use/get the herb.

@tacatto -- yeah thats why i put "fairness" in the concerns section. but i also think mutations and stats (as well as stats and live everything else in the game) is very different. because there is an ever-changing, never guaranteed market for mutations, markings, bases, etc. but people are always going to want high stats. and with mutations, markings, and bases there is very little guarantee unless expensive items are used. but there is always a guarantee that your lion will get hungry on the next rollover. so i think limiting accessibility to stat gaining items is more reasonable than accessibility to mutations and other things like that.
