Changes to How We ModerateToday we are introducing a new system which we hope will be more clear and understandable. Every account now has an "Account Standing". This starts at 100%, and you can view your current account's standing on your Den page near your Account Settings. If a member breaks a rule, they will now receive one of several actions which may or may not affect their Account Standing. A simple reminder will not affect their account standing but will be a permanent record on their account. A warning, social ban or site ban will affect the standing. The notification of the action taken against an account will also no longer be in the form of a Modbox ticket - it will be sent to the Moderator Messages portion of your Inbox. Depending on which rule is broken and the severity of the rule break, the amount of Account Standing that will drop may be different. Account Standing will be replenished by waiting - actions which affect your standing will drop off after a period of time, and although they will be a permanent record on the account, they will not affect the standing for long. Should your Account Standing reach 0%, regardless of what action sends it to there, the account will receive a permanent site ban. All accounts will be starting at 100% Account Standing as of this news post, however if you have a history of rule breaking, you may receive higher Account Standing reductions if you continue to break rules. Any suspensions on site services (e.g. chat, forum, or whole site) that are currently in place will remain. Moderating is not formulaic in nature, we review each case individually and independently of general account history. If you feel you have been treated unfairly in a situation, you are welcome to appeal an action taken against your account by either PMing Abbey in-game or sending an email to support@lioden.com.
- There was an exploit with Safou Fruit allowing users to remove a mutation from a cub that had an adult mutation present. From now on, cubs that have adult mutations will not appear in the Safou Fruit dropdown until they reach the age for those mutations to show up visually. Updates * The Members leaderboards for Most Custom Decors and Most Items in Hoard have been removed. Items in Hoard was massively lagging the site when it was caching and it has also encouraged the hoarding of an insane amount of items which we probably should have foreseen, but alas :) It has now been removed and we will not be implementing it again. If anybody wants aid in removing items from your Hoard please make a Modbox ticket, as we appreciate the pageload will be immense. * Added clarification to the Retirement page: "Additionally, any Pose set on your king will not persist through to the new King."
New Items in June Shops As promised, we've added the Gorilla Enclave's retired Egyptian decors to all June shops. The following decors have been added to all temples: Ankh Scar, Anubis Mask, Buried Sekhmet, Egyptian Makeup, Egyptian Pyramids, Isis Wings [Bottom], Isis Wings [Top], Nubian Pyramids, and Temple of Edfu. The Idol of Seth is now in the Seth Temple. The Idol of Bast is now in the Bast Temple. The Idol of Thoth is now in the Anubis Temple. If we ever add more decors to match the Anubis Mask one, we will separate it in the future as well. A completely new item has been added to all shops: Canopic Jellyfish!  This item will let you resurrect one of your deceased recorded pride members (from your Pride Dynasty) and bring them back in a frozen state, as though they were a living vessel. It will require a free frozen slot within your pride.
The following decors have been added to Monkey Business. The Pride Face Paint decors are available only during the month of June and will return annually to celebrate Pride Month within our community!
Crafting Update The following decors have been added to the crafting area.
Floodpit Update Murk-themed applicators will now show up within the rare tier of the Floodpit!
The Murk base is a Black Countershaded Medium Special base, and is our first attempt at a normal, applicable green base. Thank you for the suggestion! The markings are: Crumbing, Crackle, Shimmer and Feline (1).
GASP! All of this cub breeding caused a new lethal mutation to appear among the lions in Lioden - Cleft Palate! You guys voted for it years ago. Finally, after the big Tigon project, we were able to add it! It is as rare as other lethal mutations, and it has multiple health messages. It will die from malnutrition at 3 months of age, as it will not be able to feed properly.

NEW POLL - Vote for the 2020 Anubis Temple god ally - among other things, you will see decors dedicated to the winning deity!

Y'all played me so good I spent 100 GB prepping for an Alabaster king because I thought we wouldn't be getting a green until Moss Agate, then you release this beauty in a completely different color group that doesn't look good with all the marks I put on my heir  (The base is gorgeous though, thank you for finally adding a passable, applicable green to the game. I'm just gonna stew while I wait for my future Alabaster boy to make me back all of the cash he cost me and admire Murk lions from afar.) i am excited about the Canopic Jellyfish itm. i am aware that you need to have an empty frozen slot. is there a limit on how many deceased pride memembers you can bring back? Admin Response: The only limit is based upon your available frozen slots. As long as you have an open frozen slot, you should be able to revive a deceased pride member! 0 players like this post! Love the new lethal! <3 I'm really glad that the suggested canopic jelly was added too, great addition :) I like the new account standing %, seems fair enough. Hypothetical question though, since (I hope lol!) I don't have any - but is the "permanent record" mentioned for rulebreaks etc something that's visible to the player themself? As in, if you had one (or more), would you be able to see it even after your account standing returned to 100%, so that you'd be aware you could potentially get higher reductions in future for any further rulebreaks? Or is that just a back-end staff thing? Edit to add: thank you for the response, that makes sense. I appreciate the info :) Admin Response: A player could theoretically view their "permanent record" if they do not delete any messages sent to their Mod Messages folder. All actions taken will be sent in the form of a Game Notification to a player's Mod Messages folder, so as long as those messages are held onto, a player could go back and view them at any time. Yo! The new items and mut looks heckin great :0! Though, I have a question! Using the Jar brings the pride members back as auto-frozen, correct? Couldn't that be used as a way to avoid usin' a Turritopsis Jellyfish to freeze a lion before they die, n instead use a probably cheaper, event-available alternative? :0 (Assuming the Jar prices won't skyrocket too much after this month ofc ^^) Or can the Jar not be used outside of this month? Admin Response: indeed! It's available once a year though, so the prices will indeed go up, and finally this lets players experience the full process of lethal mutation in-game 0 players like this post! Like? |

How much higher will your account standing reductions be if you've broken rules in the past? Is it like a percentage increase or what? And can you guys perhaps publish a chart of the level an account will drop for certain common offenses? Also, how long is the "waiting period" you guys mentioned? I completely understand the necessity of this new system, as it will help you guys keep track of rule-breakers much like the laws in the real world. However, in the real world, people have easy access to seeing what punishments they will receive for breaking those laws, even if those can only be estimations. I think if you guys are going to run this place with a law-like system, we should be able to see how those laws work and what happens when they aren't listened to. I don't know if you guys planned to release more information later on, but if this was all the information we were ever going to receive, people are already saying it's not enough. No hate, just want to take action early so these problems don't fester! Again, I understand why you're using it, but the players deserve to know at least the portion of the system that directly affects them. 0 players like this post! Like? |
