Hello all! I was wondering if any one else does a fair bit of traditional art? I paint with soft pastels, draw in pen, graphite and pastel pencils. I'm also trying to learn how to paint in acrylics and draw using coloured pencils (oh, and a bit of sculpting, but I'm horrendous at it so far). My subjects are mostly animals, although I have done the occasional object or landscape (and very VERY rarely a human). I just feel uncomfortable doing people because it feels... weird. I don't know, it's something I need to get over What about everyone else? Have any of you got experience using acrylics or coloured pencils? Would love to hear what you all do, and how you go about it.

Thanks for stopping by!

I mainly just sketch with normal wooden pencils.
I don't like paints or really anything that isn't a wooden pencil.
I really, really hate watercoloring. Always been bad at it and I find 0 joy with it.
Acrylic painting is fun... but the last time I painted it took all of my free time away, I was so stressed out to the point that it physically affected my body, my wrist was in deep pain, and I didn't touch anything art related for a month.
Colored pencils I use, but I never really color my art since it's all usually unfinished.

Humans are pretty hard to draw, especially since it's hard to remove mistakes with traditional art. I do find animals easier to draw, but most of my characters are humans so I really have to force myself to draw them... which 10 out of 10 times will never get close to being finished.
So basically, I hate art yet I still do it because I want to be able to publish me and my boyfriend's story one day, so drawing is a must.
