With the August event, unlocking the Carrion Beetle shops relies on your own actions in explore. Accumulating a net of 300 Good points unlocks the Preservers shop, and 300 Evil points unlocks the Destroyers.

Currently, if you have the Preservers shop open, the Good actions you do no longer accumulate, and all it takes to lock it up again is one Evil point in explore. So you could spend an entire energy bar gaining, say, 20 Good points with the Preservers shop open, but then you kill one starving animal for 2 Evil points, setting you back at 298 points and the shop is locked back up. The same is true for the Destroyers shop, but with reversed actions.

While I greatly prefer the personal tiers over the actions of the community determining which shop is open, a small adjustment to this feature would make a difference:

Implement a small karmic "buffer zone" for each shop, say 15-25 Good or Evil points. Once you have the shop unlocked, your event bar will continue to keep track of your actions up until that amount of points (so it would peak at 315 Good or Evil points, if chosen.) The shop will remain open as long as the net result of your actions stays above 300. Should you drop below 300, the shop will lock up again, but maintaining an overall streak of good (or bad) behavior will keep it open. So once you've unlocked the Preservers, you would need to maintain your good behavior, but one evil action wouldn't send you back if you've also done good things.

Why am I suggesting this? These karmic safety zones would be useful for players who want decors in one shop or the other but also want the global features to unlock faster, which are also dependent on your actions. The event studs require a certain amount of attacks on humans, which gives you Evil points. The vulture's Peddler shop, which sells the much sought-after buffy balls/grain of paradise, requires dry bones to be collected, and Good actions in explore generally yield you more of this currency (instead of food).

This suggestion has 114 supports and 6 NO supports.

I think it could even be a “lock open” option or something. Once you get it open it could become an option to lock it, and if you want to switch to the opposite shop you unlock it and accumulate 600 of the opposite points (same as the current system). It really is a pain that is locks itself so easily when a large part of the event is gaining certain currency and preforming certain actions that are heavily favored by one side.

The way the shops work this event is very frustrating, I really like the idea of a buffer zone or a way to lock your opened shop.
