Estimates current as of 6th September, 2019

This is a rough guide for players to help determine what might be worth keeping in terms of resale or profit values. Lioden is a diverse game, and you can still successfully play following your own personal preferences, there isn't an exact market for specific traits - it quite often just comes down to whether or not you like the look of something! However, this guide shall hopefully help point newer players toward what may be considered among the player-base to be held to a slightly higher value than others, and give a vague idea of the types of attributes that might be worth keeping. Please bear in mind, this is not gospel - none of these traits are guaranteed to get a higher price, and is simply a guide I've created on my own personal observation of current market values. I invite people to make their own observations in the comment section below, or even list a few of your own personal favourite traits, that way players can see for themselves what the public determines to be desirable :D

Remember; This guide is indicative only, and based on my own personal perception of market values. My observations take into account the current apparent popularity of said attributes, and are not indicative of price alone. Popularity is inclusive as it is a representation of how likely something may or may not be to sell, regardless of the overall value. Other players may or may not hold the same views, but this is just a broad estimate of what I have noticed in the trading center and forums. Some people may value their lions higher or lower than what is indicated here.

Manes

This category may be somewhat vague, as manes are typically valued by personal choice. What one person might love, another might hate - so manes are quite hard to gauge in terms of value. For this section, I have categorized manes based on their individual qualities, which may or may not contribute to their value.

Factor Manes
These manes are a 'factor' mane, meaning they have the ability to breed the Royal mane type when paired with another factor mane type. They aren't usually more valuable than other mane types necessarily, but they might be easier to sell if someone is breeding for the Royal mane type.
x

Applicator Manes
These aren't typically valuable. Blade mane is probably the least desired from this group, and Diabolic the more popular - however, you may find some players have preference toward some of these manes, and these applicators may be sold for a minor sum.
oMXzgbJ.png

Event Breed-Only Manes
These manes vary in their value - Pariah and Tsavo usually are a niche market, loved by a select few who might pay extra for this attribute. Royal and Savage mane are probably the most popular of this group, with Royal seemingly the more desirable.

Eyes

Bear in mind that eyes are often chosen by players based on what colors can be bred from them - not just for aesthetics. You can see a full guide on eye colors and what colors they can pass via breeding on the Wiki page here.

Average
Eyes in this category might not necessarily increase your pricing chances, but they may sell slightly better than a more common type.
yKY24wY.png

NCL Exclusive
These eyes are found on lions in explore, so are not usually valuable -
but they may acquire a higher value if you manage to combine them with hard to get breed-only attributes.

0pNVN8Z.png

Enclave Applicator
While an applicator eye, they are averagely hard to obtain via the Gorilla Enclave, as the collection of Monkey Teeth can be time consuming. They are not terribly hard to breed, but if you own an applicator of this type, they can be sold for quite a reasonable sum. They are also an appealing choice on bred lions.
KnhslbN.png

Special Applicator
Again, these are applicator eyes - however, they are generally of a higher resale value than other more common applicators, and are usually a desirable aesthetic that people may like to see on lions.
Bb26vAu.png

Event Breed-Only
Lions with this eye type will typically have a slightly higher value, as these eyes are only able to be obtained via breeding.

Bases

This section is going to be intensive, based on the sheer volume of bases and differing rarities. I highly recommend visiting the base information portion of the Wiki, here, as it has more information about how to acquire the bases shown below, as well as a comprehensive list of all bases currently in the game.

NCL Exclusive
You can find these on wild lions in explore, and they aren't hugely valuable - however, they can be sought after for breeding other base types from, or be held more valuable if you breed them onto a lion with other desired breed-only attributes.
nVO3cKK.png

Low Tier
These bases may have a slightly higher resale value due to aesthetics, or ability to pass other bases. Some people purchase specific base types in order to breed specific results, and/or for combination breeding.
4JoucfQ.png
ANH8Qw3.png

Mid Tier
Again, not specifically valuable, but these bases may sell a little better than your common bases.
2Usri8Y.png

High Tier
Not the most valuable bases you can get, but these bases can still get a nice price.
4p3GqYx.png

Low Valuable
Bases from this selection are the higher value non-applicator or combination bases, which may sell at a much better price than others in tiers below.
D0NOg2c.png

Low Applicator
Applicator bases are a little more valuable than regular bases, as they can take a lot of work to acquire. The applicators themselves generally have a higher resale than the bred base, but they can still be worth breeding. These applicators are generally considered a lower desirability to some.

5FSHHMp.png

Mid Applicator
Applicator bases are a little more valuable than regular bases, as they can take a lot of work to acquire. The applicators themselves generally have a higher resale than the bred base, but they can still be worth breeding. The applicators in this grouping are of median value.

High Applicator
These bases and their applicator counterparts will net you a pretty penny, so they're bases worth grinding for.

The Best Money Can Buy
Pretty much like the title says - the best, most valuable applicators that you could put your paws on.
KGCM8wO.png

Low Combo
These bases are definitely worth breeding for, and will net you a comfy price tag. Bases in this category are combination only, which makes them trickier to breed, which pushes up their price tag in sales.

w4lON87.png

High Combo
If you really want a challenge, then these bases are the most valuable combinations you can attempt to breed for.
wA24jvk.png
vsvFa9f.png

Specials
You can only obtain these bases from breeding down from raffle lionesses, so they tend to hold their value extremely well, especially when first introduced.

eGpMK8T.png

High Special
The bases shown here are one of the hardest to obtain, as they are either event specific, or bred down exclusively from hybrids (Leopon and Tigon). Bases listed here may also be the current 'high market value' or hardest to breed base, and something some people are trying to obtain at the moment.

Markings

I would love to include a comprehensive guide of valuable markings, however due to the huge proportion of markings available on Lioden, and personal preference being a motivator toward lion value and pricing, it would be too hard to produce a complete and accurate list of what is or isn't popular. I have comprised a short list surrounding rosettes and mottled stripes, since they are probably currently the most valuable markings in the game.
Other markings that may be worth breeding for or investing in are those that are rare applicator or breed-only, so I highly recommend checking out the markings portion of the Wiki, here.

Rosettes
Rosettes come with variety. Rosette, Soft Rosette and Heavy Rosette are the available body marking types, then you can also get Inverted Rosette, Inverted Soft Rosette and Inverted Heavy Rosette under marking types. I have listed only the onyx-colored versions of the body rosettes, and the white under rosettes of each of these markings, but they come in a selection of colors, from red through to doubloon. Rosettes can appear randomly in any breeding, and can also be inherited with a Random Marking Applicator, though the odds are extremely rare. Check out the Wiki here to read more about rosettes and what colors they come in.

Breed-only Markings
The following markings are inherited from hybrids only, and can only be bred down - as such, this makes them some of the most valuable markings in the game.

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions for this guide, feel free to let me know. Also, I'd love it if you could all post your favourite lion attributes below, to help players gauge what is and isn't worth investing their time into. If you can come back and update your post with what your favourite attributes are, then that is even better :D

I've based this guide on what has been most recently 'desirable value' in terms of players wanting to buy, rather than actual price tags (i.e, I have based things around their average price ranges, but in terms of whether or not they are popular or wanted by the general public would raise the value of a certain base higher than another) - I'm more than happy to shift bases around based on general consensus/feedback :D

It is included in the 'Other Mentions' section below the main image in the Low Combo section :D I tried to cut down on space by not picturing every single base from each segment :)

I breed for Albino bases and Onyx-colored manes combined with a lot of markings, and I've sold surely a hundred or so cubs with these attributes, and its also so difficult for me to find cubs to raise into Queens for breeding - both because the numbers are low and because the prices are so high, so this leads me to believe that Albinos are actually rather valuable. And yet I don't see it on your guide? Just a suggestion but you might want to add it.
