So I might have misunderstood the wiki on something. I was under the impression that as long as you also met the breeding requirements, that lion scrotums could pass the rare mane muties. However, with today's litter failure and the "as long as there are no extraneous requirements" part of the description it looks like they can't be used at all for them. So which is actually the case?

EDIT- That's what I was asking, if it works on Imperial/Noble/Succubus. Should have said that, sorry. So if I understand you correctly it does if you also meet the requirements, I just had bad luck?

As R said above, it's only 25% chance to pass a mane mutation, which makes it a 75% chance that it fails. It says this in the item description.
Nothing on site is guaranteed (except gnawrocks passing a mark)

You can't use a lion ball on every different mane mutation. It only works on a few of them; i.e. Imperial.

Edit: I've been told that it works on all mane mutations.

"Location: Slap Shop (February)
Fed to female before pregnancy.
When given to female, her mutation has 25% chance to pass in next breeding (Hybrids excluded). This effect triggers last if bred cub still has no mutation. Uses GMO/LM slot.
CLARIFICATION: The effect triggers last, meaning it will have a chance of occurring if both CRB (if used) and fertility fails. Does not last until future breeding. This can be used on any mutated female with the exception of Leopons, Tigons, and Primals.
This item does not guarantee a 25% pass rate for the Double Uterus mutation. Instead, it guarantees a 5% chance of passing."

Lion Scrotum description text. I was under impression lion Scrotums work on all mane mutations (though not done often). Might be worth a modbox.

Yes it can be used on specific mane muties, and you can use a Ochre Saltlick to make the requiered mane pass from the mother to the cubs - to make sure there's definitely a cub Lion Scrotum can work on, if it triggers. It's still 25% chance it'll work but at least it wont be prevented from working if none of the cubs have the needed mane!

Addition to what I said above, the cub needs to have royal mane for the lion scrotum to work as well on Imperials. If the cub doesn't have the royal mane, there's nothing for the lion scrotum to trigger.

It should work on all of them yeah.
I'm not sure of the requirements of noble passing from a noble lioness yet, I've modboxed it.

As for imperial, the cub needs to have a royal mane and mom a lion scrotum used in the breeding.
But still it's only 25% chance.

@Mad Hyena 3/4 of the cubs were females with Royal but none were AMPs, I'll keep that in mind for the future though

Yeah in that case that was simply a strike of bad luck! After all, 25% doesnt add up to 100% with 4 cubs - it always rolls 25% and may fail on all.

Lion Scrotums only have a 25% chance to pass the mother’s mutation, so it's possible that It just didn't work. Otherwise, as long as the mane mutation doesn't have requirements as far as the parents need to have specific mane types, the Lion Scrotum will be able to pass it on (although, as said, it's not guaranteed and only a 25% chance).
