What if, one morning, you woke up as an animal? Now, I'm not talking about a onesie or having animalistic grumpiness- and yes, ignore the fact that we are animals already, but you know what I mean. A real, furred, scaled, finned, or feathered animal. That'd be crazy, right? Not gonna happen...

Right?

On that note, what would you do if that did come to pass? Would you try to figure out how to get back, or would you prefer to stay in this new form?

Max|Female|Hetero|16|Wolf (golden-brown) Crush: open

Max was getting all of her stuff ready for bed. She put her homework down and yawned, knowing she had to wake up early for school the next morning. She started walking to bed when she started to feel weird, like some feeling inside her that she didn’t understand. Shrugging it off she went to bed.

When Max woke up something felt... off. She got out of bed and realized she was shorter. Confused, she looked down at herself. She leaped back, terrified at what she saw. Big brown paws in place of her hands, and she was covered in fur. She ran over to look in the mirror, thinking she was dreaming. When she looked in the mirror, terror ran through her. In the glass, staring back at her, was a huge golden-brown wolf.

Hope | Female | Mute | Pan | 16 | Calico Cat | Crush: Open

She had stayed up late last night, perhaps a little too late working on a painting. It was around 4am when Hope had finally passed out at her desk. A little after 6 hours after she passed out, she drowsily blinked her heavy feeling eye lids open. She was tired and sluggish, and didn't really feel like moving. 6 hours of sleep was more than usual for her, but it still wasn't a lot and she was quite sleepy still. Eventually, after many tired blinks she was finally able to keep those green orbs of hers open. Huh, how strange, her desk seemed a lot bigger. And so did her sketchbook. Actually, everything did. Confusion swept over her as she swiveled her head around, why did everything look so huge all of a sudden?
Perhaps she just needed some coffee. Yeah, that was it. She just needed some sweet sweet caffeine and then everything would be normal. Hope attempted to swing her legs over the side of the chair so could stand up, but found herself launching forward onto the floor. She squeezed her eyes shut in pain as she lay sprawled out on the floor. That, had really hurt. She tried to get up again, but something felt weird. Finally, she had the sense to look down, and what she saw completely freaked her out.
Furry, actual, cat paws, were attached to her legs. She leaped to her feet, and did what probably looked like a scared dance. What was happening to her? Completely freaked out she collapsed to the ground, and rolled over, trying to wipe the cat off her. What the hell had happened? Did she take some weird drug or something? Hope sat up, and tried to remember if she did. She hadn't ever done drugs before, so it probably wasn't that. And her brother was also definitely not a druggy, he was far to sweet and innocent. Perhaps her mother had drugged her? No, no, impossible, she had slept at her office again. The only logical explanation seemed to be she was still asleep. Yeah that was it. She was sleeping.
Rising to all four paws, the she-cat trotted over to her bed quite clumsily and made a sloppy leap up. Hope probably spent about 15 minutes, trying to fall asleep and wake back up again, but it wasn't working. A heavy sigh escaped her lips, perhaps she wasn't dreaming. But if she wasn't dreaming, what was going on?
Desperate for answers, and still trying to see if she would wake up, she race out her room to the hallway. Thankfully, it appeared her mother forgot to shut the door again so she was able to just walk out the apartment. She and her family lived at the top floor of the apartment building though, so she had to figure out how to get down the stairs. The young calico definitely looked quite ungraceful as she stumbled down the stairs, slipping and falling. She must have made a lot of noise as well, since one of her older neighbors, Mrs. kahk, came barreling out of her apartment. A loud, angered, gasp erupted from the old woman's gaping lips, and to Hope's own surprise a shocked and terrified meow escaped from her.
Quickly, she leaped down step after step as Mrs. Kahk chased after her. However, when she got to the last floor, the doors were closed. Mrs. Kahk advanced on her, and Hope pressed herself against the door, wincing as she awaited to feel Mrs. Kahk's sharp, untrimmed nails in her skin. However, that didn't happen. Instead, to hope's relief and dread the old woman opened the door and physically kicked her out with her crusty foot.
Hope skid across the ground, and just laid there for a moment. After a few seconds passed, she stiffly got back up on her paws and found her self instinctively shaking out the dust from her fur. The calico cat looked around herself at the once familiar neighbor hood that now felt so new and strange. She was scared, and didn't exactly know what to do now, but she was pretty sure she wasn't dreaming or on drugs now.

"And they thought me broken that my tongue was coated lead. But I just couldn’t make my words make sense to them. If you only listen with your ears... I can’t get in."

Charles | Male | Bi (hardly ever likes guys) | 18 | Dark grey leopard | Crush: Open

Slight language warning
Charles stretched his jaws open in a long yawn as he woke up from a quick nap. Curiosity immediately sparked inside him, something felt weird about that yawn. He opened his mouth again. Woah. That was weird. Oh well, he had to get up now and finish his homework. No time for investigating strange yawns.
Charles attempted to get out of bed, but his legs also didn't seem to be working. Confusion swept over him like a tidal wave, as he tried to stand up. "What?" He uttered to himself confusedly. Glancing down he noticed to furry paws were where his hands should be. He raised one off the ground, then gently set it back down. Blinking with confusion, he lifted it up to his face and wiggled each toe individually. This was so weird. He tried to think about why this might be happening. He didn't think he had taken any drugs recently, the only drugs available to him right now anyways were his ADHD medications which he had voluntarily stopped taking.
His tail tip twitched with stress as panic swept over him. Wait. His tail tip? He swiftly turned his head around, and glanced back to gaze in awe and surprise at his tail The young boy felt panicked, but also a little excited as he swished his tail around a bit. Okay, this was really cool, but super weird. What was going on, and what was he?
With a quick but clumsy pace (he was still getting used to four paws), he trotted over to the bathroom, leaped up on the counter and gazed at himself in the mirror for a full five minutes at least. Wow. He was a leopard. He was a goddamn cat. A huge cat, a huge spotted cat. How awesome, leopards could do some pretty cool things. Although lions were cooler. God, being a lion would be epic. Why wasn't he a lion instead of a leopard? Wolves were also so scary awe-striking. Anyone would be impressed by a wolf. Why couldn't he by a wolf or something?
"Goddamn't Charles, I hate you. Stop getting distracted and think you useless bastard," He growled at himself in the mirror. "What could possibly be going on? He said, thinking aloud. "I know what I need to do," He finally decided after a few minutes of contemplation. "I need to get outside, and find out what is going on. I might be able to find something out there."
And with that, he leapt off the counter and raced back into his room. He always kept his window a bit open, so it wasn't too hard for him to use his leopard nose to push it open all the way and squeeze through. Swiftly, he used his hind-legs to propel himself off the windowsill and through the air. He landed squarely on his parents's flower garden, but that was fine. He'd fix it later. Or not. It didn't matter much to him.

Logan

Logan grunted, suddenly feeling horrible. It was so hot... and for some reason, there was something heavy resting on him. Wheezing, he pushes at what was on him- it felt like cloth. Did she smother me again? He wonders, thinking about his mom. Logan hates using blankets, as it made him feel confined. She probably though I was cold or something. Logan tries lifting the fabric again, and sees a bit of light. He felt strange crawling towards it- like it was going on too long, and he shouldn't be taking this long. Peeking his head through the material, he felt some tingling on his face, near his nose. Reaching up to wipe off whatever was there, he notices something- everything was huge!
Staring wide-eyed, he scents the air. Wait, what? He sees a reflection to his left and looks that way. What stared back, distorted by the metal of the can, was a mouse.
He yelled- though it came out as a squeal. Panicking, Logan puts a hand- er, paw, to his chest. What the hell?! Suddenly there was a commotion outside his door. His mother came in, broom in hand. "Logan?" She asks, looking around. "Where are you?"
He tries to call out, "I'm right here! don't you see me?" But instead voiced a series of squeaks. His mother spots him and screams, then begins smacking the bed with the broom. Squeaking out his fear, he darts up to the window sill and stares at her. She uses the broom to push him out the open window, then slams it closed behind him. The only thing he could think of was, God... I hope those cats stay out of the yard tonight, as he looks to the house beside his.

Alex

Alex was a cat person. His mom was a cat person. His three sisters were cat people. So you can say that the English family had a lot of cats. Twenty-three is a lot, right?
Whenever a new cat showed up at their door, they thought nothing of its sudden appearance, and took it in. But when the twenty-fourth showed up in their son's bedroom, while he wasn't even there, a lot of questions arose. The cat could only stare at them, and appeared to gag at the sight of the wet cat food that was put in front of him. He kept raising his paws to look at them, as if he weren't sure what they were.
"Mooommm??? Alex found a dumb one!" one of his younger sisters yelled, not looking away from him. The cat meowed at her, an odd look on his face. The three sisters oood and awed at him. Suddenly feeling nauseous, he runs out the back cat flap and vomits into the flowers. He didn't notice the black and white mouse in the neighbors yard, now staring at him.

Drew was chilling in his animal form..no one knew because his mom and dad didn't care. They were dog loves- specifically Dobermans- so it was an easy life. Kibble? Non-existence. He had steak instead and it was nice.

Vance | Male | Pan | 18 | Blue Pit Viper

"Aaaannnndddd….done." The teenager proclaimed, promptly shoving his homework into his bag. It was late, and he would have been done earlier if said homework wasn't math. For the most part, his senior year wasn't too big of deal for him, but he was god-awful at math, and he wasn't afraid to admit it.

He walked up to the terrarium in the corner, opening the lid. He picked up something, and his hand returned with a ball python in it. The albino ball python curled around his hand, tongue flicking out. His parents had never allowed him to have a snake - he had just recently gotten Edna, and he loved her to death. Now, he lived in his own place; or rather, his housemate, who was two years older than him, had kindly allowed him to stay, as long as he paid rent.

He let Edna slither up his arm and slide around his neck for a few minutes before yawning and deciding that putting her back and heading to bed would be best. He did just that, depositing her back into his cage before heading to the bathroom, getting ready for bed.

He woke up the next morning smothered in sheets. He shook his head, dislodging the blanket from where it was caught on his head. The world seemed....weird, today. The colors were muted, as if he couldn't see them at all - like he was caught between being color-blind and being able to see the colors around him. He tried to move his legs and sit up.

That did not work. Instead, his entire body slid off the bed and hit the floor. He attempted to right himself, flipping over, when he realized everything seemed much smaller. He turned his head towards the mirror on the opposite side of the room, panic filling him as he realized he couldn't feel his legs. He shimmied rapidly, and his head jerked back in horror at the thing staring back at him.

A snake. Not just a snake, a literal pit viper.

He was staring into amber eyes, the pupils in slits, the blue coloring of the scales shining from the light hitting them from the lamp across the room he had left on last night. He turned his head, looking at Edna, who seemed to be staring at him from the corner of her home. "I'm not sure if I like you right now, Edna." He thought. All rational thoughts had apparently flown out of the window. Like his legs.

Cryo | NSDT Retriever

"Are you done with your homework C?" His mother called up the stairs to his bedroom. He could already picture her dissapointed face when he would unfailingly come home with F's on the report card this semester. But, it didn't matter. As he pulled his blanket up over his head, obscuring his vision in darkness, he responded with a muffled 'Maybe.' Even though his mother knew he wasn't, he couldn't bring himself to flat out say No. He was supposed to be a good child. But maybe trying to be the good child like his older sister - who was now probably in England studying human behavior - wasn't his style. He just wanted a relaxing life. Nothing to serious. Nothing to hard, but everyday he found himself faced with the responsibility of protecting his mother from his father who was never home. Throwing himself into the ring every night just to be able to pay for this stupid house in this stupid neighborhood.

"Goodnight, C," She hollered up the stairs before he heard her faint footsteps receding to the other side of the house. He knew she worried about him. Heck, he worried about him. Showing emotion to anyone but her was weak and in this era, he couldn't afford to be weak.

"Night, mom," He whispered to the air before closing his eyes and doing his best to sleep.

When Cryo awoke, something felt . . . different. He stretched and realized something was wrong. Why was he facing the foot of his bed? Why did . . . Oh God. He looked down and what met him was a pair of white paws attached to orange legs. Paws as in dog. Fur as in animal. Panic rose in his throat and he let out a bark, freezing for a moment as his brain tried to process what the litteral fudge had happened to him and why.

"Cryo?" His mother's voice came through the door and he held completely still. She was allergic to dogs. He loved dogs. He'd never been able to have and now here he was, as a dog. "Do you have a dog in there? We agreed no dogs . . ."

The blanket fell from over his head as he raised it at exactly the same moment she opened his door. Her eyes stared at him for a tense moment before looking at his open window. "What are you doing in here, buddy?" She asked fearfully. "Where's my son?"

He looked at the window and then at her. Maybe if he jumped, she wouldn't have to risk an allergic reaction as he could already start appearing on her face. But she only nodded. "Left you here and run away huh? Did he think it was going to be funny to see me break out in a rash?" Her voice was cold and angry, like she had actually expected Cryo to betray her like that. He growled and his fur bristled, but it was all because he hated her assumptions. He would never do anything like that.

And that's how he found himself outside, tail tucked under him and ears flat as he stared at the shut door to his house, wondering just how it had come to this. Didn't she understand it was him? Didn't she even try to speculate that her son might have been the dog? But what he didn't know was that his mother was inside the house, crying and ringing up her son's phone multiple times, only for it to end with his voicemail. And as he stared out across the neighborhood, he wondered if he was the only one that this had happened to, or if there were more.

Max|Female|Hetero|16|Wolf (golden-brown) Crush: open

After a while of just staring at herself in the mirror, Max heard her mother calling her name. Panic rose up inside of her. Max’s mom couldn’t see her like this! But she was too late, her door swung open revealing her mom. She screamed when she saw Max and ran into her bedroom, probably to call animal control. Max decided that she had to get out of there. She clumsily ran out of her room and through the back door that her mom leaves open, and into the small wooded area behind their house.

After a while of walking around she became exhausted and started to take a nap, curled up next to a tree.

Nothing new

Charles | Male | Bi (hardly ever likes guys) | 18 | Dark grey leopard | Crush: Open | Interacting with: Drew

Charles had begun padding along, in search for answers, and to just explore and get used to his new legs. The young leopard was not quite as shocked as he should be, yes, he was quite surprised and found this whole situation incredibly unbelievable, but he was just going with it now. He was ignoring and working through the disbelief, figuring that he had to do something. He swayed his fluffy tail with glee with confusion underlying his happy emotions. He felt stronger and faster, and he noticed his pace was a lot quicker than it would be if he was a human. However, despite all the positives he found from being this four-legged creature dappled in spots, he did not like the fact that his vision was all... Weird. Colors just weren't looking the same, everything looked less cool and colorful. Eh, oh well. That was just a small setback. He was a leopard, and that was awesome. But how the heck was he going to explain this to his family?
His thoughts were halted as the sound of a bark rang through his ears. He stopped in his tracks and curiously thought for a moment. What would his interactions with other animals be like now? Would he be able to talk to them? Because that'd be pretty awesome. Curiously, he lifted his nose and sniffed the air, and wow, there were so many things he could smell! One scent that seemed to be stronger and closer than the others was something that smelled like dog. So it probably was the dog that he heard bark.
Excited, he followed the scent that he caught, his paws protected by their pads smacking the ground as he charged forward. Quite soon, he found himself skidding into someone's yard, and there in the yard was a doberman. Unsure what to do, Charles just stopped and stared at the doberman. He knew dogs wagged their tails when they were happy, so he gave it a try, unsure what he was doing.

Logan | Alex

He stared at the cat, not sure what to do. It looks like a new one- most of the cats they have over there are missing an ear, a tail, or even some fur. And none of them looked like that. The cat finally stops vomiting and looks up. And... it seems to be staring at him. Usually his boxing instincts would have kicked in by now, but everything was out of wack- he just stared at the cat who slowly approached him. Small chest heaving quickly, the mouse can do nothing but squeak out- "Please don't hurt me- I'm not a mouse, I'm a dude!"
The cat stopped for a moment. Squinting it's eyes, it asks, "Logan? That you?" The voice that came out of the feline was that of his best friend, Alex.
"A-Alex?" He lowered his paws from over his ears and stared at him.
"Oh my god! It is you! What the hell is happening?!" The cat- Alex- yowls, completely freaked out.
"I dunno, man. But this is wack," He said, putting a tiny paw over where he thinks a mouses heart is. Then, scampering up Alex's arm he sits on his back and looks around. "Everything is so damn huge..." he mutters, looking around.
Alex just shakes his head and walks out to the front yard. They look around, completely lost on what to do.

Max|Female|Hetero|16|Wolf (golden-brown) Crush: Open| Interacting with: Hope

Max yawned and woke up, hoping she had woken up out of that horrible dream. She looked around and sighed... definitely not a dream. Instead of moaning about it she decided to test out her new body. She let out a massive howl and laughed, her laugh sounded funny too, like a wolfy chuckle. She sniffed the air, realizing her senses were incredible compared to how they were before. She could smell what felt like everything for about a mile, but a certain smell caught her off guard.... it was like a cat, but not fully. She sniffed once more and headed in the direction of the smell.

After a few minutes of sneakily traveling through the neighborhood she could see a cute calico cat. The thing was, she has seen other cats. This one felt different and she couldn’t put her finger on it... or paw. She slowly approached it slowly not wanting to frighten it, then when it saw her she got down on her two front legs, stuck her tongue out, and started wagging her tail, hoping to seem friendly.

Hope | Female | Mute | Pan | 16 | Calico Cat | Crush: Open | Interacting with: Max

The young feline's ears flattened instinctively as dread filled her when she heard the patter of paws approaching her. Cautiously, she slowly swiveled around on delicate padded paws. Pale green orbs widened in shock, and her fur bristled in surprise. She had expected to see something like maybe another cat or perhaps even a dog, but what she saw was a wolf. A huge, golden brown wolf. Now when she was a human she thought wolves were quite cool and adorable. But right now, she was a cat, a small creature in contrast to a wolf. Hope crouched there, frozen in fear. She didn't know what to do, if she ran the wolf would probably catch her. If she tried to fight back, she'd most definitely end up dead. And it wasn't like she knew how to climb trees yet either.
The calico's gaze darted this way and that and occasionally it would rest on the wolf. It actually looked quite friendly judging by its stance, but for some reason she blew that off as just a trick. The wolf probably wanted her to think it was friendly so it could have an easy meal. How had a wolf gotten here anyways? Wolves didn't live around these parts, so maybe it was somebody's exotic pet on the loose? That would explain why it hadn't attacked her yet. Fear struck through her with sudden sharpness though as she realized it would probably realize pretty quickly that it could kill her.

Charles | Male | Bi (hardly ever likes guys) | 18 | Dark grey leopard | Crush: Open | Interacting with: Drew

"I-uh... Charles stumbled upon his words, struggling to figure out what he wanted to say. Finally, "Wow," he breathed in awe. "I guess I can understand animals now! Epic!" The dark leopard gave the dirt beneath his paws a small few scratches of excitement, his eyes shimmering. Once again, Charles was a bit too clueless on how to act so he just stood there for a minute, until finally he realized he should introduce himself. And probably apologize for just charging onto this dog's land without an invitation.
"My names Charles," He introduced himself cheerfully, "Sorry 'bout just charging onto your land. I got a bit excited. Just not used to being a leopard I guess?" He told the doberman, questioning himself as he spoke. "Ya see, I was a human. But I woke up a leopard. Pretty crazy , right?" He laughed, finding his own words unbelievable. God, this day was insane.
