Thread Rules

Please don't use this thread to discuss anything aside from Battling Strategy
Be polite and respectful to other users, NPCs can have more than one strategy that can be effective against them.
The first move listed in the moves chain is the one that is most effective/most used.

Make sure to keep track of your moves in the Battle, the more data the better!
Some of the NPCs appear in more than one zone - they will be listed in the first zone they appear.
Use CTRL+F to find NPC you are looking for.
Zone images borrowed from Lioden Wiki

Please fill this form for me to collect data:

NPC name:
Zone and Zone level cap:
Moves used in order:
Total stats of King:
Skill:

EXAMPLE:

NPC name: Starving Spotted Hyena
Zone and Zone level cap: Temperate Savannah, lvl 1
Moves used in order: Charge > Swipe > Grab > Pound/Kick
Total stats of King: 666
Skill: 60

There are few strategies that might work on most NPCs:

Charge -> Grab and then I either Pound, Claw or Kick, whatever is more effective; and then if I think I'm too low on health I strangle; because they will either take damage or break free and if they break free I can rest. And they can't damage me while I'm strangling them.
- by vickers (#80696)

Pounce/Charge > Grab > Pound/Kick/Claw (depending of effectiveness)
- by Bat {LightsOFF} (#68800)

Only enemies that require a strategy is hippos and crocs. and that is "FOR GODS SAKE GRAB THEM!"
- by HoneyBadger [Rabid Badger] (#47403)

do not Kick cheetahs, it tends to miss a lot

MAKE SURE TO NOT REST WHILE FIGHTING RHINOS/ELEPHANTS/HIPPOS/WILDEBEEST/BUFFALOS, YOU LOSE TURNS AND THEY HIT YOU ALL THIS TIME - IT'S A WAY TO INSTANT DEFEAT

For angry lioness, I'd recommend pound rather than kick and claw, since they get stunned very easily

I'm not sure how to start a battle with the poachers but spamming claw on all poachers, march or the year-round one, works well :D

hi! i don't know if this thread is still active or if you want to continue to update, but since july has new enemies i wanted to post some information on em here.

Starburst Being: very much like gorillas, if you grab them they will be able to do MASSIVE amounts of damage. you should probably stick to swipes/bites, and if you grab em, either pound or strangle for the stun chance.

Thank you for the input :)
Since I do have a lot less time to keep the thread updated, due to my work, I will be heavily rely on input from players to keep it going.

It will be updated shortly

tip for july event, the wyverns are very much like the dog packs or humans, they are extremely weak to claw

gamma ray beings are very strong, they remind me of rhinos and you should probably be careful when facing them

nebula burst starling (or whatever, these names confuse me theyre probably not accurate lmao) much like normal enemies, face them without worry, use the normal charge then grab etc, etc

More tips and other stuff I've noticed!

Pulsar Wyrm: Has a charge attack, so you shouldn't rest. Charging, grabbing, and pounding worked pretty well for me.

Interstellar Drake: Also has a charge attack, don't rest. Charge, grab, and pound. (Need to fight them more to be sure of this.)

Cluster Drakeling: Safe to rest against; treat it like a normal enemy.

Gamma Ray Beast: More like a gorilla than a rhino, safe to rest against. Don't grab, just charge and swipe for the lowest likelihood of grabbing it. Strangle if you accidentally grab it.

Starburst Being: Also like a gorilla. Safe to rest against. Charge and swipe, strangle if you accidentally grab.

Stellar Windssrah: Can bite you badly for lots of damage, so grab it ASAP. Charge, grab, and pound/claw/kick.

Interstellar AND Pulsar Wyverns: Have a charge attack, don't rest against them. Charge, grab, and then claw--they have soft skin so this should take them down very quickly.

Solar Drakaiva [BOSS]: Charge, grab, and then kick or pound--DO NOT claw, they have thick skin. Unsure if resting is safe against them yet, rest at own risk.

Pulsar Dragon [BOSS]: Charge, grab, and then kick or pound--also has thick skin, so don't claw. Unsure if resting is safe yet.

---

Roaring may sometimes work on enemies--it's not a bad idea to try it out on a few of the normal enemies. I've heard it's a bit of a 50/50 though, and I wouldn't suggest trying it on the ones with charge attacks. Also unsure if it will work on bosses, but I think that it most likely wouldn't, since they're meant to be boss fights.

I also have a suspicion that enemies with a strangle attack are harder to hit after you've been strangled. It may be better to keep your distance, since if your attacks continually miss it'll be hard to recover. However, I'm not sure if this is true or not--I've just noticed that so far, I've been having more issue fighting snakes and such up close due to missing compared to the other fights.

ADDITION TO STRANGLE THOUGHTS: After a few more fights with some snakes and such and comparing them to other fights, I do legitimately think that it's harder to hit them after they've successfully strangled you, however I think that it's more effective to just try and power through it than stay away, since they can also grab you.

So far the enemies that can strangle you are snakes/serpents and the Cluster Dustling!

The full list of enemies is also now up on the wiki!

EDIT: more tips!

EDIT 2: reformatted for easy reading and copy/paste! also included my information from my post earlier ^^

The roar can make any enemy do that if you manage to hit the rng with it, it's a bit like a roulette with it for either outrage, wary fear or run away :)

Burstlings/dustlings are cowards, if you roar at them they have a chance of leaving the fight. I recommend using Roar (it doesn't always work but its better if you try right???) - Charge - Rest - Charge - Grab - Pound (for stun chance)

Stellar Drakelings/Drakelings over all can bite you badly for lots of damage, so I'd recommend grabbing it first and then pounding it to stun it

Radioactive Snakes can bite you badly for a lot of damage if you don't grab them early on. I've found that pouncing on them is super helpful.
