Hello again!
I know I just posted a question earlier today, but I have a new thing that confuses me.

So on my lionesses' pages, I can put them as hunter (which, self-explanatory) or broodmother. What does it mean to make my lioness a broodmother? I already bred with one of my lionesses, and she was a hunter, so clearly that is not a thing.

If I put her as a broodmother, can she still hunt? I think not, because my lioness couldn't hunt before when she was neither. If that assumption (inability to hunt) is correct, how would she level up?
I feel like I'm missing something here, and I'm worried it's something important.

Thank you!

It highly depends on how many cubs you plan to keep at any one time. Having 1 or 2 lionnesses to hunt its your best strategy as once a hunting lioness reaches level 10, they're bringing back just as big and as many carcasses as a 5 lioness hunting party would. I'd keep more broodmothers than I would hunters so you don't have cubs die because you didn't have enough broodmothers to protect them

The number of broodmothers is going to highly depend on how many cubs you have since they can only care for 5 cubs per one broodmother. Plus your territory size will only allow you 1 broodmother for every 10 territory spaces. Since you only have two lionesses, I would use one as a hunter and one as a broodmother

She cannot hunt if she is set as a broodmother unfortunately.
It's broodmother or hunter for a single lioness.

Hunter will hunt for food for your pride, of course. And Broodmothers are able to protect cubs so that they do not die. They gain experience from protecting cubs

Ahh. I see. So, do I need a single broodmother for the entire pride, or do I need like... a team of them? I only have two lionesses right now, but I was thinking of making a hunting team. Does it work the same with broodmothers, or will one be enough as long as I don't go overboard with like, 10 cubs at once?

A broodmother can only protect up to 5 cubs (or 6 with nurturing personality).

"The amount of Broodmothers you can have in a pride hinges on your territory number. You can have 1 broodmother for every 10 slots, and the game rounds up to the nearest 10." -the wiki

All right. Well, I'm still very new, so I wasn't planning on doing any breeding en masse just yet. Thank you for the warning though! I'll keep in mind that I need to make sure to have enough broodmothers at any one time.

You guys are really fast at replying! And super helpful too, I really appreciate it. :)
