I am not supporting nor not supporting until I see a mock up as I'm not entirely sure exactly what is being suggested/how it would look on the LD base.

On the base side of things, are you thinking something like Asiatic colored with more gold hues?
On the mane side of things, it seems that you are suggesting something similar to that of the Unholy mane?

I understand, that makes sense.

For the base, yes, that is a good parallel to what I am thinking. The Asiatic base is a bit more bold in the distinction between colors than what I am thinking, which is a bit more of a blend between the two colors, but otherwise yes. The smokier color on the Asiatic base would be more of a golden brown hue, while the tan coloration of the Asiatic base would be a slightly more bold golden cream color, which fades much more gradually into a lighter cream color in place of the more white of the Asiatic base. The tail would have a bit of each color, with the golden brown hue at the very top (hardly any), with most being the golden cream color, before just barely managing to fade to the lighter cream color before taking a turn and fading into a much darker black/brown color which engulfs the base of the tail around the tuft, and the entire tuft. I'm not sure if I explained it well, so let me know and I'll try doing so better if I didn't.

The mane, at the very basics, could be called similar to the Unholy mane, but there would be some distinctions. The Unholy mane is much darker of a color than the "Classic" would be. Focusing on the lighter color of the Unholy mane, which is like a dark chestnut color, on the "Classic" it would be a much more bold golden color, with light cream-shaded accents to accentuate the main golden color. This color would take up much more of the mane than the brown of the Unholy mane does, being most of the front, and top. There also wouldn't be a fade from one color to the next, instead they would be much more distinctly different. The secondary color, the much darker brown/red of the Unholy mane would instead be an almost-black brownish color that only appears on the underside of the mane and chest are, with some spread to parts of the mane that touch the back of the lion, but nowhere near the face area.
The Cream Half marking image on the Lioden Wiki is closer to the look I am thinking about, but with less blend.

Ah! That makes sense! Thank you for helping me visualize. I think it would be a wonderful little addition to the LD bases!

Until I see a mock-up, I can't know for sure, but I think it might be interesting to have it be a BO base between the NCL specials for a bit of a challenge in breeding and to pay homage towards its roots. I would especially like to seen this done if the base is put into the special genetics.
