Tori skipped through the forest, eager to see the arena. Bluejay perched on her shoulder while Tori's bodyguard trailed behind her, clearly exhausted. Even though the journey from the castle to the arena was a long way away from the castle, Tori didnt feel tired at all. Ok, maybe her legs were aching, but she chose to ignore the feeling. Bluejay perked her head up as the arena came into view. And may I mention that it was HUGE!

Tori blinked in awe for a few moment before shaking her head and running down the hill, into the arena. But before she could take a few steps inside the massive building, Tori was met with hundreds, maybe even thousands of people everyone. Suddenly feeling shy, Tori grabbed her hood and pulled it over her head, covering her snow white hair. Bluejay flapped her wings slightly, wanting to get out of this big crowd as quickly as possible.

River had been in the large building for a while. She eyes moved up towards the entrance door where large amounts of people moved in to take their seats. A light chatter filler the arena as people spoke about what was going to happen throughout the evening, she rolled her eyes slightly when her discolored eyes watched as some burly men pointed to her direction and laughed. She almost growled at the sight but knew it would be a matter of time before she would be able to put their foot in their own mouths.

It wasn’t long before people stared their way to the roped off area in the middle of the dirt arena. River studied the fighters as they began to pick each other off. One man stool out to her the most, he continued to beat his opponents and was leading the ring by the time she was guided to the ring. A black cloak hid most of her feminine features and it wasn’t until she was in the ring until she pulled it off and tossed it to the side. She straightened herself and let the man look her up and didn’t before he began to keel over laughing

“How am I suppose to fight a GIRL!!!” He boomed abs walked up to river and shoved her slightly. River didn’t hardly move at the advance and just waited patiently for the ref to call the fight. “Get our of here” he growled at her abs looked over to the ref, waiting him to escort her out. But the ref didn’t “she paid to be here” the ref said and shook his head. “If you think it’s so easy just beat her quick.” He huffed and finished the paperwork before getting ready to start the fight and ushering the man to back off of her until he said.

Tori hurriedly found an empty seat and sat down, noticing that her bodyguard wasn't with her. She just shrugged with a small half-smile on her face before she looked at the ring where people fought for who knows what. Bluejay snicker quietly as female pulled down her hood in the ring. Tori watched the female closely, wondering if there was some kind of mistake in the rosters. Females were usually outside of the ring, not in it. Right? Tori hushed Bluejay before focusing her direction back to the battle that was about to begin. She wasn't particularly comfortable with watching people fight over some gold, but she knew she had to find herself a new bodyguard.

~ Why do I need a bodyguard when most can't even keep watch over me for more than 2 minutes? ~ Tori asked herself. She escaped the watchful eyes of most of the previous bodyguards that her father had appointed for her. She mostly ran away because she didn't like them , so if she chose, then maybe Tori wouldn't run away? That' what her father thought anyways.

Tori yawned slightly and waited for the fight to begin. "I just want to get out of here..." She murmured to Bluejay, who chirped quietly in response. SHe knew Bluejay would rather be laying in her small bed, eating, or sleeping on her lap than being here. And honestly, Tori felt the same.

River watched as the ref corralled the man backwards to get them a few feet apart. She took a deep breath as the ignorant man continued to laugh and shake his head. When the ref finally called it, River didn’t move. She let the man mess around a little more before he began to move towards her. He reached out to put a hand on her shoulder. River made quick movements and grabbed the mans hand pulling him forward and ducking under his arm and using her upper leg to hit him and knocked him off balance. The man stumbled and turned around quickly, a women fiery in his eyes and he charged after her.

River kept her body low and took the blow, it winding her slightly before they began to grapple on the ground. He landed a few nice fits on her jaw and nose, causing her lip to split and her nose to bleed, but it wasn’t long before she was able to get into the position she wanted. She lifted her legs and grabbed his head and pulled them straight into the ground. Throwing a square hit in his jaw. Her flew backwards and wiped his bleeding face and flew towards her, reaching for a knife in his boot, which wasn’t aloud, and she put her arm up in defense, receiving a slash. She winced before acting quickly and twisting the blade out of his hand before using her body momentum to kick over him and put the man, who was now on his knees, in a head lock. She held the blade flush to his throat and hissed ”Just because I can beat you doesn’t mean you get to cheat from your uncontrollable boy anger.” Her voice was deep and rough. She then released the man and threw the knife across the ring and the ref came up to scorn the cheating man. She wiped her nose with the back of her hand and stood up proudly.

Tori watched the fight, wide-eyed. Sure, she expected the female to land a few good hits on the man, but she hadn't expected that the woman would win so easily. Before she gave it much thought, Tori leaped up from her seat and half ran, half jogged past a few people and towards were the female warrior would exit the arena.

Tori slowed down near the thick wooden doors and panted, waiting for the woman to come out. Bluejay sat on Tori's shoulder, amusement dancing in her eyes. Tori leaned against the wall, waiting for a chance to talk to the older female.

River collected her winnings fairly quickly, before the angry man tried to put a group of people to jump her for embarrassing her. She moved towards the door swiftly. She pulled a rag from her back pocket to wipe down her face, she mumbled to herself softly as she moved out the door, her eyes wondered to a women who seemed to be waiting for her. She rolled her eyes slightly and tried to avoid the women but she knew she probably was still going to be stopped. She let out a loud whistle, letting her hybrid know to head in from the forest and meet her.

Tori glanced up, spotting the female. She gave the seemingly older woman a smile and stated, "Hi! Uhm...great job out there! You really surprised most of the crowd" Tori tried to start up a converstaion, but she wasn't really good at it. Blueish just glanced River up and down before beginning topics her paws slowly.

"I'm in a need of a bodyguard, well at least that's what my father says..." Tori rambled on, clearly nervouse. She hasn't spoken to many people , apart from meeting occasional servants and guards in the halls of the castle. "...and I think that you would be perfect for the job!' Tori finished, glancing up at the female with a hopeful going on her light blue eyes.

River grumbled to herself lightly as the women approached her and began to speak with her. She didn’t pay much attention until she had to. She slowed her steps and came to a stop, fully turning to face the women, the blood covered rag held against her arm. ”What is in it for me. Why do I want to guard people who can’t protect themselves from a fly.” Her voice was low, she didn’t want to be mean but the royals had always done bad things when it came to her. They were all privileged and didn’t care about people like her.

Leo chuffed from the tree line that was a few yards away. She looked towards the trees before returning her gaze back to the woman.

Tori huffed slightly, deciding to ignore the female's first statemeng. "Well for starters, you would get paid, plenty" Tori began explaining the benefits of he come get guard while Bluejay narrowed her eyes at the Black lion in the trees. "I think we could also get you a room in the castle" Tori went on and on, her good skipping a bit, revealing her snowy white hair.

Tori finished off with a proud smile, hoping that the female would take up her offer. After all, she would get a bodyguard either way. Would it be a cranky old man or possibly a friendly woman was up to her, and she wasn't going to let that chance fly by without trying to catch it.

River looked at the women for a second, debating her offer, she didn’t know why though, she got plenty from the fights she does. After a few long moments she went to go speak but a loud low growl rumbled through her body. The black lion, twice the size of a normal lion stalked slowly out of the trees, his eyes narrow and his gaze hungry to protect his owner.

”Leon.” River spoke with a stern voice, the lions large eyes moving to her, not willing to disobey the women. He walked slowly in their direction. ”He must be aloud to come.” She said, watching the large creature move smoothly and slowly over to her, his eyes watching the women and her pet, ready to defend if anything were to happen. He almost stood as tall as River, and his mane was long and groomed out. He walked up to river and pressed his head against her in a small greeting but took a firm stance next to her.

Tori was a little spooked by the sudden appearance of the lion. She however recovered pretty quickly and smiled softly. "Of course he can come!" She replied and looked at the majestic lion in front of her, fasinated. Bluejay however wasn't find of the idea to have a giant lion wandering the castle walls. The tiny creature chirped in protest, but Tori only hushed her, getting an angry glared from Bluejay.

Tori soon decided to just pull down her good completely, letting her silky smooth hair down. She stated down at the ground, wondering if the woman was interested in the offer. She the looked up and added, " I'm Tori by the way" She made a small hand gesture to Bluejay, "And this is Bluejay!"

River almost scoffed at how excited she seemed. Honestly she didn’t understand why she had taken this offer, she was living a fine life outside the walls. She cleared her throat slightly, preparing to speak. ”My name is River and this is Leon.” Her worlds were confident. She raised her hand and ran it through his thick mane, he resisted the urge to fall into the women’s touch. They had a special bond, she had found him 3 years ago as an abounded cub, he was small at the time but that doesn’t speak for now.

A low growl pulled her from her throats as her opponent from the ring approached, his anger steaming from his ears but his thoughts of revenge were stopped as Leon moved infringement if the women and let his growl grow, flashing his white teeth in anger.

“You have to have cat protect you, weak.” He hissed and rolled his eyes, River chuckled, ”I don’t. I already proved I don’t need him, so try again with an insult.” River then watched as Leon moved closer to him and corralled the man off before turning back to Tori.

Tori smiled at the woman once more before lowering her gaze as the man from the ring approached them. The fighters here honestly spooked her. They were big and muscular, and probably able to squish her and Bluejay without much of an effort. She was grateful that the lion named Leon scared the man away. After the man left, Tori silently cleared her throat before looking up. "ts nice to meet you! But if you want to take the offer, you should come with us" She stated, seeing that her temporary bodyguard had finally fount her in the crowd of people that was starting to form.

Tori really wanted to stay here a bit long, and not to watch the fights. She really wanted to explore the woods next to the arena more. There were a lot more fascinating things out there than in books. And knowledge could only get you so far... Experience is the best kind of knowledge, well in Tori's opinion at least. Bluejay sniffed at Leon from afar while waiting for River's response to the offer.

River looked around, seeing the group of people starting to grow a little more, she hated being around large amounts of people. She grumbled to herself before she let out a deep sigh. ”If your kingdom is trying to pull something and baiting outlaws like me to go with you and then trapping us then I’m letting Leon do with you what he pleases.” River earned lightly and took the lions mane in the fist of her hand.
