After travelling for many miles through arid desert you arrive at a series of clear pools at the foot of a towering mountain range. The shining peaks gleam like the surface of a lake in the moonlight. Your breath mists in the cool night air. As you bend to quench your thirst in the star-speckled pool you feel the fur on the back of your neck stand up on end. As you lift your head, you see on the other side of the pool a strangely coloured lion with fangs that seem too big for its head. Reptilian eyes stare out of a shaggy black mane. Blue fur blends seamlessly with lilac. Muscles ripple beneath faint white stripes. His chilling snakelike eyes lock onto yours and you feel suddenly cold. In one smooth moment he turns and pads silently away. As he leaves you manage to catch him rumble in a deep melodious voice: "Welcome to the Silver Mountains".
