I put it out of character since I didn't know where to put it Hello!! I wanted to make a head for my fursona, but I'm having problems with materials and prices,I'm from Spain and I don't have much money to be able to afford all the materials at once. -I wanted to know if anyone who knew about fursuits could recommend some cheap material like some fabric, I already know where to buy the foam. -I also think I will have to order it personalized because of the strange color of my fur, so I would like to know how much a custom colored fabric approximately costs or if there is any furry fabric that is cheaper than faux fur. ^^ The other materials, such as teeth, nose and ears, I don't know what materials I could use (I want the nose to be soft) and I don't know what material and paints are used for the eyes. -I want to make a kemono and I saw that they have a strange dome in their eyes, I would also like to know how to make them, if they can be bought or do I have to mold them myself. -Is it better to use a free base for the head that someone else has made, commission a base or make my own??? (Also,If the color of the fabric costs depending on the difficulty, I leave the color code of my fursona here in case it is useful #8893A5 )  0 players like this post! Like? wrong board, i would put this in free for all, but i can help. i used to make fursuits! i used fursuitsupplies.com for materials, but im not sure if they ship to spain. they have lots of colors and do custom runs if nothing is close to what you want, but its more expensive to do that. you can also order small 1 inch by 1 inch squares to test how the color looks in real life, how it shaves down, etc for paw pads, nose, teeth, etc, i used minky fabric, which they sell there. its very soft and you dont have to shave it down. also, for heads, i recommend short pile fur (1 inch or shorter) so you dont have to shave as much. on that website, they call it beaver/seal fur. you can buy eye blanks on that site or if you have a 3d printer or access to one, you can get the files to 3d print them yourself. i have some eyes saved here. you can also 3d print a head base if you have access. unless the character has a very unique head shape, its easiest to just use free models. i have some saved here! some similar color fur to your fursona could be this, this, or this. they have more similar colors in their past custom runs, though, but theyre no longer available for purchase. 0 players like this post! TY!! ^^ I don't have access to any 3D printer, the only one closest has been broken for 4 years and they don't want to fix it, it is a very good idea to buy the square ones to see in real life what it will be like ^^ also,What paint could I use for the eyes so that it doesn't cover the holes? 0 players like this post! i recommend either using sharpies or buying pre-made ones on fursuitsupplies if they have the color youre looking for. they have them here! 0 players like this post! Like? |

for a kemono style, you could give them an open mouth with mesh like the eyes if you wanted to get a bit more air in it or you could build a fan, but that can be difficult to do 0 players like this post! Like? |

its called a balaclava. it helps to absorb sweat. it has a hole for your face, so it shouldnt make it any harder to breathe. 0 players like this post! Like? |

ok thanks!! ^^ The eyes are waterproof, there is one very similar to the ones on my fursona (the light blue one) so I think it will work for me,To shape the foam, is scissors recommended? I saw electric saws but I have a phobia of blades (like cutters, knives, tools with blades) 0 players like this post! Like? |

Is foam suitable for head foam? (that thick foam that looks a lot like the one in the videos) And approximately how much foam do I need for a furhead? (and the cm width which are optimal) 0 players like this post! Like? |

i like this foam for using on heads! i use 2-4 inch foam. if youre going completely from scratch, i would get 2 or 3 just to be safe, depending on the size of the foam, especially for the first time. if youre using a base, i would only get 1. 0 players like this post! Like? |
