A cold chill blew in through what was supposed to be a bright and sunny April day. Something felt wrong in the air, and everyone felt the chill. In the early hours of the morning, a lone traveler arrived in King Lucios land. The pride, being rather open to travelers, invited him in with open arms. But he wasnt the usual kind of nomadic wanderer. His name was Felix. A king of his own pride. Lucios sister had been traveling, and he had sheltered her for a time.

Morgan had started her travel during the season of giving. She had taken shelter with Felix during the great hunger after narrowly escaping a more malicious pride. In her escape, she picked up a traveling companion. Queen Gloria. They traveled during the time of aphrodisia together. Unfortunately, after that season, a plague of hunters and poachers roamed the lands they traveled. And in the end, Morgan and her companion ended up trapped by humans. Felix had witnessed the terrible scene, and thought it would be kind to at least deliver the news to Lucio.

Lucio was wracked by grief. During a time where the lands were filled with prey and the pride was doing well, he could do nothing but mourn. Unaware if his older sister was alive or not, or held captive somewhere. He knew it was his fault, Allowing her to leave and do something so dangerous. He couldn't help but blame himself. He held on tightly to his other sister, Making sure she wouldn't leave as Morgan did. He made all of the cubs aware of the dangers of leaving, and forbid them all to travel on their own.

All of this talk of leaving, all it did was encourage Antimony's imagination. He was born the day the news of his aunt was delivered. His entire childhood was filled with her stories. He was determined to travel like her, and maybe finish her story. Creating his own adventure , and maybe easing the fears of his father. He knew lionesses were more vital to the pride, and he would Never be the heir anyway. If he ran off, who would miss him?
One of Morgans daughters, from another prides king, Begged him not to go and disappear the way her mother did, but no amount of begging could change his mind.
Until he was able to travel, Antimony taught himself shamanism the way Morgan had, and the skills he would need to travel alone.
Morgan had miraculously escaped her captors and made her way back into the pride. While she settled down she spotted a rather troubled cub, and encouraged him to follow his dreams. She tucked a flower behind his ear, much like lucio had done for her

Story: (TW for some blood, violence, and similar themes.)

Antimony was still just a cub when he left his pride, cutting through the grasslands between his pride and the closest one to it with extreme caution. He wasn't a young cub to be sure, but still a cub nonetheless. The start of his mane was just starting to come in. He was very much aware of the dangers all around, creatures lurking, just waiting, ready to snatch up a small lion like him without a moment's warning. He'd have to move quickly if he wanted to arrive in one piece.

Morgan's words had played on loop constantly up to the moment he made his decision, and they still did as he walked now. Maybe this is what distracted him, caused his mind to wander just long enough to get lost.

Not even a day into his journey and already he'd messed up.. oh, what luck.

That's when he met Mufa.

The intimidating old king lunged at him out of nowhere, claws flexed forward and eyes dangerous. But the large male halted just inches from the trembling cub's fur. He jerked back to avoid crashing into the young shaman, eyes lingering on Antimony's apparel.

On the flower tucked under his ear.

Mufa's eyes lit up with recognition, then with something.. else. He smiled, and chuffed almost playfully.

"Whoa there, young lad. Sorry for the scare! I was just messin' with ya." His smile was a tad too sweet. Antimony had to swallow the growing lump in his throat.

"O-oh, no problem, sir. I wasn't-uh, wasn't scared at all."

"Hah hah! Sure, my dear boy. You seem like a brave sort."

Mufa officially introduced himself and told Antimony that he was the king of a pride not far from here. He offered to escort the cub there. It can't be safe for him to be wandering around alone, after all.

Hesitantly, Antimony accepted his offer.

The two arrived at Mufa's pride in hours, just before sunset. After showing the youngster the pride's broodmother Elysian, Mufa retired for the night. The pretty broodmother asked the cub what his name was and where he was from and Antimony immediately took to the kind lioness, pouring out his tale for her. She was very nice and seemed interested in what the young male had to say. However, she had this sad look about her that he couldn't quite place.. was it pity? Concern? How confusing..

Elysian then proceeded to tell Atimony a bit about herself. She told him how she was named after her glorious pelt and clean blood, and was a treasure in Mufa's pride. This.. also confused Antimony, and he didn't understand everything she was saying, but it sounded cool anyway!

It was the same with every lioness he met, it seemed. The weird looks, that is. They all looked at Antimony the same. It was really weird. This usettled him greatly, and as he fell asleep by the broodmother, these worrisome thoughts couldn't help but slip into his dreams..

Lions, all trapped in a cramped cave. He couldn't any of them apart, all just faceless creatures of varying shades of cream, golden, red and black. There weren't many, but it was more then enough to fill the den.

There it was at the entrance. Just looking in, claws and fangs bloodied and dripping.

He was staring at them. The monster was staring.

It's eyes were dangerous.

It's claws flexed forward.

The lions around him were panicking now, thrashing, fleeing in all directions, tramping him and each-other in the small space.

It moved forward.

The struggling intensified, and now the air was filled with screams..

Antimony woke with a gasp, fur prickling and claws sinking into the nest he lay in. Elysian stirred and rolled over to comfort the cub, shushing him and telling him it was alright as she groomed the raised fur along his back flat. Antimony didn't go back to sleep that night.

That morning Mufa entered the cave Antimony was staying in with another lioness at his heels. He told Elysian that she and Antimony were going to be joining this new lioness in another cave. Elysian seemed nervous, but just nodded and ushered Antimony to his feet.

The new lioness introduced herself as Renny as they made their way to their new cave. Renny was a traveller whi had just arrived that day with her horde of rodents, who scampered around her feet and crawled over her fur as they spoke. She was a peppy thing, Antimony noted.

Mufa seemed distracted as he led the three to their new cave, stopping just outside it and grunting expectantly.

Elysian led the cub in and gasped. Antimony looked to where she was staring and blinked a few times as his eyes adjusted to the light.

There in a dark corner of the den lay a beaten, trembling old lioness. Small scratches and bruises littered her entire pelt, and one eye was swollen shut with a particularly nasty looking swipe. Elysian shielded Antimony's eyes with a paw and looked on in horror, expecting the worst. Renny rushed to the beaten lioness's side, whom stirred and turned to look up at the newcomers. Her eyes were dull and devoid of hope. Her ears drooping. She regarded them all solemnly, lips curling downward further and brow scrunching. A great sadness had befallen her features.

"I didn't realize he was so sick as to bring a cub here." She rasped sadly, eyes meeting Antimony's, who was growing more and more scared as time went on.

"What do you mean?" Renny asked the wounded lioness as she cleaned her many scratches.

"He's brought us all here to die, don't you see? He's going to kill us all. He.. I already watched him kill.." The wounded lioness whimpered, letting her head fall into her paws.

Antimony's heart ached for her, and he rushed forward to help Renny with cleaning her wounds despite Elysian's protests. Antimony looked to her face, trying to meet her eyes though she kept looking away.

"Who are you?" He simply asked, voice calm and even. The lioness finally met his gaze, face still partially hidden by her paws and tears began to collect in the corners of her eyes.

"I'm Genevievi, a traveller. Mufa invited me to his pride eight months ago. I was only supposed to be here for three.." Those tears began to flow now as she stifled a sob. "I came here with another traveller, Diku. Mufa.. He led us to this cave. There was another traveller here. She said he'd trapped her in here for a month!" Elysian gasped at this, ears flattening to her head. She'd come to sit by them too now.

"What? You must be mistaken. Mufa wouldn't just.. Trap a lioness in here for a month, he-"

"Oh? I've been here for four." Genevievi stated spitefully. Elysian's mouth shut abruptly, eyes staring at her paws in disbelief. Antimony frowned, his brows knitting.

"I'm a traveller too. So is Renny." He nearly whispered. Genevievi chuckled humorlessly.

"Of course you are. He has some sick obsession with us travellers, I tell you." She takes a deep breath, and settles back down. Her gaze is one of silent frustration. "Well, best get cozy. We'll be here for a while."

And they were.

As the days went on, sitting in the darkness, Antimony grew restless. On the first day Renny had made to bolt for the door despite Genevievi's warnings not to, and several frightened yowls later she was roughly tossed back in, a set of fresh and bleeding scratches dripping scarlet down her face. She just laid there for a while, curling in on herself with wide eyes. Her paws shook even as Antimony approached to clean her wounds. Genevievi watched with interest.

"Looks like we have a little shaman with us, ladies." She chuffed in mild amusement, eyes soft as she watched the cub.

"Well, actually, I was studying shamanism before I started travelling. I can't do much without any herbs, though.." He muttered. Genevievi looked surprised.

"Oh? Really? A young lad like you?" She blinked. "Well, you'll be quite the talented little shaman, I can tell." Her smile widened, but then her frown returned. "Or, would have been." She cleared her throat as silence fell upon them all once more.

On the second day, Mufa visited.

It was just to drop off half a zebra and a large tortoise shell filled with water but they all held their breath until he left. The collective exhale after his tail disappeared out the entrance was audible.

It was like that for about a month, just the four of them there in the dark with only each other to talk to as they waited for Mufa to bring them their meager meal. Elysian and Renny tried to lighten the mood with jokes and stories, but it didn't help much.

Antimony missed the sun. He missed his herbs.

Another few months went by, and by now Antimony's mane was starting to look more noticeable. He groomed it proudly, and Elysian commented on how handsome he already was, and how strong and big he'd be when it came in full. He liked the compliments, even if Genevievi rolled her eyes or shook her head sadly when she overheard.

It had been four months in when a new lioness was tossed into their den snarling.

The newcomer leapt to her feet as soon as she landed roughly, tail lashing and blazing blue eyes darting around the cave as they adjusted to the light. She snarled all the while, all claws and bared fangs.

"Who's there? I can hear you! Come on and fight me already! I won't go down easy!" She'd roared, her pelt shimmering blue and red as she glared fiercely into the darkness.

Antimony came forward slowly, carefully into view with his head low and submissive. The newcomer seemed surprised to see the young male, and her tail thrashing came to a stop. She seemed to settle down, face switching from fury to pity in seconds. "Hey, little fella." She said tentatively. "What's your name?"

Antimony introduced himself and the others, and learned that this fierce new lioness was named Spinel. She was a traveller too, of course. Apparently she'd wandered too close to Mufa's territory on her way to another king's, and was captured and brought to their den.

As she settled down she told them that she had known Mufa before she became a traveller. She was led to believe that he was her father as a cub, and he'd killed her grandmother in front of her. That's when she ran away to travel. On her journey she met Felix Dowwe, a king from a nearby territory. He was Mufa's brother, and her real father.

Antimony listened with perked ears, feeling a mix of pity and awe at all Spinel had been through.

"Felix was expecting me today. He'll come looking for me, I'm sure." Spinel finished her story with that, and for the first time in nearly a year, Antimony felt.. hopeful.

Just like Spinel had said, just two days later Mufa strolled into the den with a larger king behind him. The felis immediately locked eyes with Spinel, who sprung to her feet. Mufa snickered.

"Well, aren't you eager~" He grinned, eyeing both her and the primal male. "This is the one in heat. You can have the agreed payment when you're done." Mufa sat back expectantly. The primal male stared at him.

"Uh.." His voice was quieter then Antimony imagined it. Gentle, but gravelly. Mufa narrowed his eyes.

"Well? What are you waiting for?"

"Could we have some, ah, privacy, perhaps?" The felis was forcing a nervous smile. Mufa huffed.

"Sure, whatever." The older king growled and turned to leave. As soon as he was out of sight Spinel rushed to Felix and embraced him.

"Oh, Spinel.. I was worried when you didn't come when we agreed, and then Mufa told me he had a sha lioness in heat, and I just knew it was you.. oh, are you alright? He didn't hurt you, did he?" The primal male, who Antimony was certain was Felix now, sniffed her pelt, his nosing lightly brushing over the wounds Antimony had cleaned just two days ago. Felix's eyes slowly grew more angry. "That monster.." Felix seemed to notice Antimony and the others now. "And who might you all be?"

Antimony explained what had happened in the last year to Felix in detail, and the king's expression became one of horror and pity. When Antimony was done, Felix sighed and looked down at his paws sadly

"It's true, then. He really has gone mad. I.." Felix swallowed the growing lump in his throat. "I thought that, perhaps he could be saved but.. I'm afraid he's too far gone now." Felix narrowed his eyes and stood. "I'm so sorry you all had to endure this cruelty. I will help you all escape, and put Mufa to rest." Felix's eyes shone with a new determination, and Antimony felt as if his heart had leapt out of his chest. This was really happening- they were going to escape!

"And just how do you plan on doing that?" Genevievi huffed skeptically. "Surely you've noticed- for all his age, he's strangely powerful. He has some sort of evil power backing him. How do you expect to defeat that? You won't stand a chance against his dark magics."

"And he won't stand a chance against us if we manage to overpower him. I think I can sway Alexander, his heir to help us. He's not the kindest lion, but he's not nearly as cruel as Mufa.. yet. He's not very fond of him either." Felix was deep in thought now. "He might even thank us, now that I think about it. He's quite the ambitious lad.."

"Then I'll help, too." Antimony could hardly believe the words coming from his mouth, but they were already out there, so..

Felix blinked in surprise. "You sure son? You're a bit young. I don't want to drag you into this.."

Antimony shook his head. "I want to help. And while I'm not the best fighter, I can at least help distract Mufa while the others escape."

"Me too. There's no way I'd miss this. I want Mufa to perish at my paws." Spinel added with a snarl, claws digging into the ground.

"..Alright then. So be it. You all wait here, and I'll be back later tonight with Alexander. We can try to escape then, and if Mufa finds us.." He paused, taking a deep breath. "Then I, Alex, Spinel and Antimony will fight him so the rest of you can head towards my pride. We'll meet you in the large patch of brambles halfway there."

After just a bit more discussion and some brief directions on how to find Felix's pride, Mufa could be heard approaching the cave again.

"Alright, that's more then enough time. Get out here, Felix." Felix looked to the group of travellers one last time and gave them a knowing nod, briefly brushing against Spinel once more as he passed her and left the den.

Antimony practiced flexing his limbs and sharpened his claws as the evening drew on, fur prickling with anxiety. Best case scenario was that they managed to slip away before Mufa found out they'd gone, though that was unlikely. Mufa was determined to guard their den obsessively. Antimony knew he'd likely end up having to fight..

But he'd never fought a day in his life! Even during training as a cub, he'd much rather sort and memorize herbs then wrestle with the other males. But Mufa was experienced in it. He killed lions for fun! How was he supposed to fight an evil, magic tyrant like Mufa?

He wouldn't have to worry about that for long, because soon enough Felix approached the den once more, and by the sound of it he had company.

Alexander and Felix slipped into the den quietly, and the others got to their feet. Felix motioned for them to follow, and Antimony fell beside him and Alexander.

The young sub had a fluffy, flowing mane and dark patches draping over his head as dark as tar. He gave Antimony an almost uncaring glance before quickening his pace. The heir was rather intimidating, though Antimony knew he wouldn't be able to overpower Mufa on his own. He must have been dreaming of the day he could though, as he seemed just fine with walking into a fight that would ultimately have to end with Mufa dead.

They were almost set to leave when crunching pawsteps could be heard just outside the den.

Everyone froze, and Felix spun around, ears twitching. His eyes were wide as he stared at the entrance to the den

"Run." Felix whispered, as the pawsteps grew louder. suddenly they were thundering towards them from the dark and this time Felix shouted: "Run!"

Renny, Elysian and Genevievi darted for the entrance, but just as they did Mufa sprung into the den blocking their path, succesfully cutting them off. "Where do you think you're going?" He screamed, eyes alight with rage. Upon spotting the felis he lunged straight for Felix. Spinel let out a furious roar and jumped back before the two could ram into her as they tumbled.

Antimony was frozen as Mufa somehow managed to seem twice as big as before as he pinned Felix to the ground by his throat. A strangled snarl escaped the Primal's maw as he thrashed, and Mufa spun to glare at Alexander. "Block the entrance, boy! I'll handle this traitor." Mufa screamed this, eyes crazed and a grin spreading across his face. Alexander just laughed. Mufa frowned in confusion, but before he could say anything else Alexander rammed into the mad king, Spinel joining in to rake her claws across his side.

There it was at the entrance. Just looking in, claws and fangs bloodied and dripping.

Flashes from his dream months ago played in Antimony's head. What was this?

He was staring at them. The monster was staring.

Antimony caught the gaze of Mufa as he thrashed, aiming blow after blow at the lions around him. Spinel and Alexander had attatched themselves to the crazed lion now. His eyes were becoming a piercing, unearthly color.

He was staring at them. The monster was staring.

It's eyes were dangerous.

Now that Antimony got a better look at him he was certain Mufa was much bigger then he was just earlier that day. A sinister blue light seeped from his eyes and poured from his open jaws like mist, swirling as the huge lion thrashed beneath his assailants.

It's claws flexed forward.

The lions around him were panicking now, thrashing, fleeing in all directions, tramping him and each-other in the small space.

Renny, Elysian and Genevievi barreled past him, Renny shouting an apology as she bumped him in her haste to escape. It barely registered for Antimony, he was still trapped in his daze. In his dream.

It moved forward.

The struggling intensified, and now the air was filled with screams..

Mufa, with Alexander and Spinel still clinging to him, turned his rage onto Antimony now, and he charged at the young male. Antimony stood there, frozens til..

But then Felix was getting to his paws and pushing Antimony out of the way before joining in the tussel. Right, this was no time to freeze up! Snap out of it, Antimony!

Antimony launched into the fray, just as Mufa tossed Alex and Spinel off his back. Antimony took their place, gripping onto the massive male and biting into the base of the back of his neck to hold on.

Mufa bucked like an enraged wildebeest as Antimony dug his claws in further and Spinel, Felix and Alex took turns jumping in to swipe at his face, legs and side. After nearly a minute of this Mufa managed to dislodged Antimony with a particularly strong thrash, sending the teen flying across the dirt and into the wall, knocking the wind out of him.

Antimony recovered in time to see Spinel launch forward and dig her jaws into Mufa's neck, refusing to let go. The young male could hear flesh ripping between fangs and a loud tearing as Mufa's furious roars became choked and wet.

Antimony watched as the silhouette of the ferocious lioness dug her paws into the sides of the massive king's neck as well, and Mufa seemed to sway before toppling over, gagging on his own blood. Antimony shuddered. Felix took a step back, panting and wincing as he limped over to Antimony and helped him to his feet.

"Go on, son. Catch up with your friends." Felix rasped between breaths, and Antimony looked hesitantly back at where Spinel stood snarling above Mufa. The male was still alive, weakly growling back up at the lioness and his traitorous heir, choking as his life drained from out his throat. Antimony had to look away. Felix nudged the young male. "It's fine. you can go. They need this, and I don't want you here for what's about to happen."

Antimony met Felix's eyes and nodded silently, turning to run out of the den where Renny Elysian and Genevievi had darted. He ran out of the territory and to the patch of brambles Felix had described.

When he caught up to the three travellers, they huddled around him, fretting over his wounds. Antimony assured them he was alright, though they didn't seem convinced and couldn't help but clean every scratch they could find.

Not long later Felix, Alexander and Spinel caught up to the group. Spinel and Alexander's maws were drenched and dripping in blood. Antimony felt a little nauseous at the sight, but stood up, walking over to help clean their wounds as well. They all sat in silence, tending to each other's wounds for a while. Genevievi was the one to break the silence.

"So.. you did it, then?" She looked into Felix's eyes, her own pleading and hopeful as tears pricked the corners. He nodded.

"Yes. Mufa is dead." At this, Genevievi let out a sigh of relief.

"Oh, thank the gods.."

They all rested there as the sun began to rise over the horizon, and now that the adrenaline had left his body Antimony realized he could feel grass under his paws. As the sun peeked up over the hills it took all he had not to break out into sobs as light filtered through the brambles to shine on his face.

By the time the sun had risen the group had already started their journey back to felix's pride to rest and recover.

All except for Alexander, who bid them farewell and turned to head back to his own pride, ready to claim his new position as king. Antimony watched the young male leave, wondering if he'd truly be a better ruler then Mufa. He had a sinister air about him, but surely no one could be worse then the mad king.

When they finally arrived, Antimony was led to Felix's hoard, where an assortment of herbs waited for him. He grabbed what he needed and settled down in the nice, cozy spot in the sun the other travellers and Felix were now resting in.

He helped apply the right herbs to everyone, and instructed Elysian how to properly apply them to his own wounds that he could not reach. Once that was done, they all just relaxed in the sun while some of Felix's pridemates came to check on their king. One particular female, a large, scarred frosty looking lady just sort of stared at them from a distance.

Stared at him.

Or maybe he was just being silly. She was probably just curious.

The group stayed with Felix for a few days before deciding to part ways. First It was Renny, who thanked Felix for his hospitality and said goodbye to Antimony, Elysian and Genevievi before leaving with her rodent companions, then Elysian, who decided to head back to rejoin Mufa- no, Alexander's pride. She decided to change her name, and told Antimony this as she shared a tearful goodbye. Elysian, now Antsian told him just how proud she was of him and how much he'd grown before leaving as well.

Genevievi decided to stay, as she was too old to continue travelling anymore and stood no chance of making it back to her homelands in her state.

Spinel stayed a few extra days after Renny and Elysian had left, as she had a lot more healing to do and just seemed to want to hang out with Felix for a while longer. She introduced Antimony to her daughter, Hunter, a young primal female who was also into shamanism. Too bad he couldn't talk more with her.

Soon it was Antimony's turn to leave.

He said goodbye to Felix and started towards the edge of his territory, resting just at the border to plan out a path.

It was then that the lioness from before approached him.

She was rather large and muscled, her pelt an odd shade of tan with frosty blueish grey speckling her back and face. Her eyes were hopeful and.. sad.

"Your scent is familair." She didn't even give Antimony time to say hello, and he stood there, mouth open with unspoken words as he sat confused.

"Exscuse me, but what?" He blinked at the strange lioness, who leaned in to sniff his mane. Geez, personal space much?

"Your scent. It's old, faded but.. it's there. I recognize it. You smell like she did. I can smell her."

"What? I smell like who?"

"Morgan.." The lioness nearly whispered. "Maybe I'm going crazy but- I swear I can smell her. You smell just like her-"

"Morgan? How do you know my aunt?" Who was this strange lioness, and how did she know Morgan? The lioness stared at him in silence for a moment.

"I-I'm sorry, of course, that would make sense. You're from the same pride. That's why you smell like her, oh gods, I'm so st-stupid, I thought that maybe she- she-"

"Who are you?" Antimony asked, more to cut her off from her apparently distressing train of thought more then anything.

"I'm Glora. G-Gloria Azelhart." Her voice was barely a wheeze, raspy with emotion.

"Alright then, Gloria. How do you know my aunt?" He let his voice become soft, eyes meeting hers in an attempt to comfort her. She looked like she could use a hug. Or five. Gloria took a deep breath.

"Morgan and I were travelling partners.. we went from pride to pride together, until.." Tears began to drip down her cheeks. "We were caught by poachers. I tried to fight them off, but they caught me and- and I couldn't save her. We were separated, but I escaped. I spent so long looking for her, I-" Her voice cracked, and she winced at the pain of these memories.

"I chased the poachers for months. I never found her. I though I smelled her on you, I'm sorry. I should know better, I should know she's dead, and it's-it's my fault." She broke into a sob, sinking to the ground and crying into her paws. Antimony's heart ached for her. But then his eyes lit with realization.

"But. she's not dead." He told Gloria, bending down to her level. Gloria's soft sobs calmed into hiccups. "Wh-what?" She practically whispered again, voice raw from crying. "She's-what? How-"

"My father thought we'd lost her, but she's alive. She wandered back to my old pride. Her home pride. She inspired me to go travelling myself." He smiled down at Gloria, whose eyes widened.

"Morgan-Morgan's alive?" She sat up, a smile spreading across her face. "Is it true? Is she really alive?" She was giddy now, and Antimony nodded.

They sat in silence for a minute as Gloria registered everything.

"You're leaving now, right?" She eventually asked. Antimony nodded. Gloria sighed. She was smiling softly, looking straight ahead into the horizon as she addressed Antimony. "Can you tell her- can you tell her I'm alive too? Tell her I never stopped loving her. Never stopped searching. Tell her I miss her. I missed her a lot." She turned to the young male. "Please, if you see her again, tell her that. Please." Antimony nodded.

Story: After the exhausting events of the previous pride, Antimony was much relieved to discover that his next unwitting destination would be more kind. He was walking through the shrublands when he heard the cry of a gazelle, and a few moments later he saw the creature burst into a clearing with a few lionesses hot on its tail. They took the creature down swiftly, and one of the lionesses - a tan one with a lovely swirl in her fur - turned from the kill to him, beckoning him over. She introduced herself as Turasa, the queen of the hunt for the pride that lived in the lands he'd wandered into. She noted his condition and questioned if he was a traveler. When he confirmed, she rumbled that her queen and king - Fahari and Karkov - would be honored to treat him to a a comfortable night's rest with them, as they were fond of travelers.

Though a little leery at first, Antimony saw the other lionesses and noted that none of them had the fear or pity that he'd been too naive to understand in the previous pride that took him and many others captive. These lionesses all seemed excited and hopeful, but not concerningly so. Just interested enough. The shaman lion agreed and offered to help the lionesses carry their hunt back to the pride to show his kind intention to the queen and king he was about to meet. The hunters chatted as they brought him back to their dens, and a mottled king with a vibrant fiery mane rose to greet him. Karkov introduced himself proudly and promised Antimony he would enjoy his stay, whether it were for an evening or for a year; whatever suited him suited them, so long as he at least perhaps let them know when he'd gone. The ease in the king's voice helped to reduce some of Antimony's other anxieties.

Upon being lead to the Traveler's Resort, a den devoted to the travelers that came through Karkov's claimed patch of shrublands, Antimony was further satisfied: there were other travelers here already, ranging in age from barely weaned to nearly old enough to return to their original pride. They were at ease and satisfied, and some looked up with interest and joy to see another visitor come to join them. The king left his guest to rest and get to know his temporary denmates. Antimony was swift to make companions and find a place to relax.

He thanked the stars that guided him to the right next step in his journey and wondered where they might lead him next.
