Sasa Kai, the Bold Her father was once known as the Tyrant, and his reign was filled with nonsensical blood and abuse of power. The deranged old king was certain he was blessed by the gods, and therefore, demanded the best. The punishment for subordination was death. She was just a cub when her older brother, Duli Ka, split off from the pride, taking most lionesses with him. The Tyrant couldn't fight all of them, and was left to wander alone. Unfortunately, Duli Ka was not much better of a king. He had worked for his station, but he had the same ideas of entitlement that the Tyrant did. He took what he wanted from the lionesses, killed cubs he found irritating, and beat his pride members within an inch of their lives. Sasa Kai was always a firebrand. Some would describe her as manic and impulsive, but there is no denying her righteous intentions and golden heart. She was critical, opinionated, stubborn, and brave- or stupid- enough to fight an elephant. So, when Sasa Kai became old enough, she challenged him to a duel for the pride. He laughed at it, initially, but found it funny enough to humor her. The battle was intense, and bloody, and Sasa Kai came out with several long-standing scars, but Duli Ka was defeated. He was allowed to stay in the pride as a prisoner, so long as he bowed his head to the new Queen, Sasa Kai.
