Introduction:
"Do you really think you are hidden" - I ask, gazing towards my foe hidden among the trees in the dense forest.
"Nay, I say, it is as if you are testing me. Or, are you afraid?"
"Do you really think you are a shadow" - I ask, as my foe shows himself.
"Nay, I say, even the weakest shadows are better hidden than you. Again I ask, are you afraid?"
"Hah, I wanted you to sense me." - my foe answered in distaste.
"For you have slain thousands of my kind. I've only come to return the favor."
"Then who might you be" - I ask.
"The KING of the shadows" - He answers.
"Then I shall destroy you and rid this world of darkness. I shall bring all your kind into the light
and remove the veil that you so desperately try to hide behind." - I answer, sounding confident.
"We shall see." - He responds, as he vanishes beneath the ground.
"Coward!" - I scream.
"Patience, for I will return in due time. This time, I only tested your confidence."
- He replies underneath the earth's mantle.
Chapter 1:
As I gazed into the night sky, letting my majestic mane flounder in the wind, there I saw a comet as it grazed through the darkness. It emanated such a dazzling light only for it to disappear within the darkness of the night sky.
"Who's to say it will be over?" - I thought.
"Nay, it only has just begun, for the KING of shadows shall return."
"But, is this adversary truly my enemy?" - I thought. "Or is there a deeper enemy than that?"
"When did I become its enemy, and when did it become my enemy?"
"Was it not protecting its kind that I destroyed?"
"Nay, its kind were destroying lands, laying wastes to civilizations."
"I shall bring peace to the world?"
"But what if I can't? What if there's a deeper, more stronger enemy than whom I am facing?"
"What if my enemy is just a pebble for this greater enemy?"
"I don't know, yet."
*Yawn* I closed my eyes in a cave I found nearby. Grasping the warmth this cave enveloped me in, I fell asleep, dreaming about the questions that jostled my mind.
"Will I ever find the answer? Will I ever know?"
"I don't know, yet."
