Talon had always been a strange king, mixing indecisiveness with rationality. But somehow he’d made his pride of lionesses grow strong and secure. Outsiders were often confused by the polar opposite personalities within the same king, and a rumor had quickly spread that he was two lions in one body. But, as lions do, the strange king grew old. It was time for an heir, a younger more capable lion to take over to ruling. But the only one that was of age was Ghost Stalker, and he was just as strange as Talon. He is very much a loner, rarely having anything to do with the lionesses, but if he was caught off guard, then his sense of humor was very easily seen. As if to keep the strangeness of the pride well and truly visible, Talon made it quite clear that he wasn’t going to just stand down and let the younger lion take over. No, instead, there was going to be a battle, a fight – of sorts. A battle of wits. It was one thing that he was very decisive upon, and Ghost Stalker bowed to his king’s wishes. All the lionesses knew without saying that they would have Ghost as king – this was just to satisfy Talon’s strange personality and was mostly just for fun. So of course, everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and when Ghost Stalker was crowned king of the battle, it just went without saying that he was king of the pride, too. But, curiously, Talon wasn’t seen after that. No lioness ever reported seeing him leaving, and his scent and footsteps weren’t found, either. He’d just vanished into the wind.
