Nikito's Den

Nikito is the first ruler of the Akeptis pride. Though the pride is young, their will to fight and survive is strong. Nikito tends to take in cubs from the giving tree every day, in hopes of growing his pride with young huntresses and submales to help flourish the prides strength and health. To his expectance, instead of receiving a male to take over his throne when he's gone, he had a daughter. He wasn't mad, in fact he was happy. Nika and Elluara are his main pride and joy. So, in case of there not being a male heir born to Elluara, Nikito decided to accept the males from the giving tree, and allow his daughter to pick the worthiest one to be her king as well as ruler of the pride.

Akeptis pride law:

First male borns will inherit the right to rule the pride.

If a female is born first in the royal bloodline, then she will choose a king to rule the pride, either chosen from within or outside of the pride, having the lioness who chose them alongside.

if the king or queen dies, the offspring of them will inherite the pride.

If twins are born to royal blood and hit the age to rule the pride they must enter a series of challenges. Whoever is the victor will rule the pride.

If there is no offspring, and the king and queen die, the next in line will be from the siblings of the queen or king that still live.

If the royal blood ends with the king and queen and there are no other relatives alive, a crowning festival will begin.

Accepting cubs from other prides is accepted and very much suggested.

Crowning Festival info:
This festival can last 12 months

In the crowning festival, lionesses will stop the hunts, the cubs will no longer continue their lessons, and the lions will stop patrolling for ten days. Adolescents from the pride will be brought into a clearing for The sundown games. all of them will be challenged with survival of the fittest. They will be tested to hunt on land and in water, to scavenge carcasses and climb huge rock clusters. They will be in the wilderness for a while. They can not assist one another, nore form alliances. They must race across the plains and return to the pride on the day they have matured. Whoever returns first not close to death will be crowned ruler of the pride. If the rest of the lions and lionesses return they are rewarded with fresh kill on the eleventh day after the ruler is crowned, and are given titles for their bravery and survival. After five days the ruler must find an acceptable mate for themself.

This festival was made 500 years ago, Nikito came across it when he met Elluara who has been in a pride that was killed or have scattered with this tradition. He has met no one else who does this.

Stories tell that many don't make it alive, either returning as a bag of bones or never returning at all. So Nikito has his lionesses train the adolescents to hunt while he trains te cubs to become, smart, strong and sneaky hunters at a young age. Having their lessons grow more as they reach the age to either spar with the main male or to hunt with the hunteresses.
