SunStar grew up in a very kind and loving pride, but his greed and lust for power corrupted him. Ever since he was a cub, he would get into many fights with other lions in the pride, and although he would lose to many, the pride did not like him. Eventually, SunStar's personal ambitions lead him to murder. He killed a fellow pride member in cold blood just because they happened to offend SunStar. The pride banished SunStar forever.
SunStar travelled far and wide in search for lionesses to make his own pride. He manipulated lionesses to join him with his good looks, cunning and false kindness. Soon, SunStar had his own pride to lead. By the time the lionesses knew who SunStar really was, it was too late. If anyone dared to speak out against SunStar, they would be brutally killed and the lucky ones chased off. The Pride was in desperate need for a new leader before they were all killed off...

Ciabhan was a lone lion. He was banished as a cub for being a "monster". He was a sweet, caring lion with only the ambition to help others, but his mutation scared everyone. Ciabhan would attempt to help any animal in need that came across his path, but usually failed because they were terrified of him. One day, he found a lioness that was lying near his path. She was very weak, malnourished and was near death from her wounds. Despite Ciabhan's savage appearance, the lioness begged for help. Ciabhan of course tried to help her, but she was too old and injured to be saved. The lioness, GoldenLily, was chased out of her pride by her evil leader, SunStar, for giving food to a weak and dying cub that SunStar saw as ugly and worthless. She was spared from death due to being the first lioness who joined the pride and the respect the pride had for her great service as a broodmother. GoldenLily loved her pride despite the leader and wished they could be saved from SunStar's savagery. GoldenLily's dying wish was for Ciabhan to save the pride...
Ciabhan followed GoldenLily's directions to SunStar's pride and watched them from a distance. All that GoldenLily had said about the leader was true... He was savage. Ciabhan stalked the pride for days, until a patrolling sub male discovered Ciabhan's hideout. The sub male, Femboy Finn, had been very close to GoldenLily and offered his help with Ciabhan's mission to save the pride. After months of planning, Ciabhan, Finn, and a few lionesses lead an attack on SunStar and his loyal lions. After a long, bloody battle, Ciabhan's patrol reigned victorious while SunStar laid dead and his followers fled. Ciabhan was appointed leader of the pride which he vowed to save to a dying lioness months ago...

When Valentine was born, his mother StrawberryShadow noticed how different Valentine looked and was worried for her cub. No one knew what was wrong with him and some suggested putting him down... But Ciabhan refused. Though Valentine was not biologically his son, Ciabhan truly loved Valentine and hoped that he was just different looking like him and not sick. Unfortunately Valentine was a sickly cub. He was constantly on and off with illness. Because he was quarantined often, Valentine had a hard time learning how to socialize and he was behind on his training. Ciabhan was worried for Valentine and brought his cub to a shaman. The shaman said that Valentine had a similar mutation as Ciabhan, but Valentine's mutation was more rare and most of the time came with physical issues. Ciabhan begged the shaman to help his son. The shaman gave him a few options. One option was to remove the mutation from Valentine. Another was to give Valentine medicine and hope it works, which was rarely successful. The last option was to kill Valentine and bring him back to life, but this option was very risky and could make things worse. Ciabhan tried the medicine method, but Valentine was getting worse...
Ciabhan brought Valentine to the shaman again about 4 months after the first visit. He begged the shaman to remove the mutation from Valentine, but Valentine refused. He requested the killing method. Ciabhan pleaded with Valentine to reconsider, but his son said that if he was meant to live, the method will be successful. Valentine looked up to his father's bravery for being himself without fear despite his appearance, and he wanted to be like him. Caibhan relented after much resistance and the shaman gave Valentine some special stew...
The method was successful and Ciabhan was so prod of Valentine's bravery and wisdom that he asked if he wanted to be his heir. Valentine was shocked, but agreed. Now he is a kind, socially awkward and romantic king who lives under the guidance of grandpaw Ciabhan.
