I was thinking of all the things that can happen to cats naturally that could cause an early demise or issues. So I've got a few ideas I'd like to toss around. First off, issues that aren't visible/not very visible but will actually be unwanted. Because as it is now, everybody wants mutations, even if they're lethal. If there are some unwanted ones, maybe that'll change a little? Also some of these would be Such as:

Cataracts (Issue that can come along with older lions)
Deafness
Arthritis (Older lions)
Cancers (Any age, but more likely as they get old?)
Asthma (Cannot hunt, or breed as successfully)
Missing internal organs? (Lethal mutation)
Feline Diabetes

Also, diseases that can be spread. Line Feline distemper and feline aids

These would be issues that are more likely to be passed genetically, but not 100% to every cub. And they could show up in a seemingly healthy family lineage without a past of these sort of diseases.

This suggestion has 95 supports and 14 NO supports.

Support. Though not for sicknesses. A breaking down body on old lions and (low) cancer chances all over I can live with.. But something that will kill off my whole pride in its spreading is uncool.

I was thinking that it wouldn't kill them per say, maybe just lower their health/energy or something, having a negative affect that can be fixed with some sort of item in the oasis or something

Its just that you used two highly infective and deadly deaseases as examples for sicknesses. (Yes I know that FIV itself doesn't kill your cat - just like AIDS never killed anyone. But - like AIDS - a simple cold can kill and sooner or later such a secondary sickness WILL kill the being.)

I'm not opposed to (slowly) spreading sicknesses that can be endured or cured and that are non-lethal. :)

I wouldn't call these mutations, if anything, they are just lion diseases. Maybe I would support them if this topic was about adding illnesses to the game, but I don't see these as mutations. No support.

I shouldn't have put mutation in the title, as I was originally looking for mutations that weren't visible but couldn't find any. And I did put health issues, which illness does fall under

Ok this has been bothering me for a few days now; what do you mean by missing internal organs?

Born without intestinal tract, kidneys, liver. Things that might not instantly kill a cub, but theres no way they'll survive long at all without

oh my god I'm dumb. I thought for some reason you meant that would appear in older lions and could not for the life of me figure it out XD
That makes sense lol its a good idea
Possibly arthritis would prevent lionesses from hunting a lot? Like maybe you cannot replenish their hunts if you do more than 10 a day.

I was thinking that it could permanently affect how much they hunt, or how well they hunt. Like, either they always have 7 hunts max, or they're much less likely to catch prey, because of them being old and achy and not as fast

well I think those both make sense, but I would think since hunting in a group would cancel out the second thing, maybe the first would work better

I support! But not for the sickness, it would be quite a cool feature if old lions could get different types of disabilitis such as cataracts!

No support, this sounds like illnesses to me & that's one of the main things that drove me off Wolvden, so I'd hate for it to happen here as well.

It seems like it makes much sense and is realistic side effects of age, however. It doesn't seem like illnesses to me, it's like a verily different thing to me if that makes sense.
