Anyway, it shouldn't matter. People have different tastes and just because one person doesn't like something doesn't mean another person shouldn't be able to do it. I fuckin haaate nimravus marks... but I'm not campaigning for the removal of the marking in the game, ya know?

Holy crap, I hardly noticed this. I haven't done much studding before the whole update myself (got a new king right around the update, actually), but I'm glad this was brought to attention. I'll give my full support behind it.

If someone doesn't want a specific marking on a cub, they can always use a Marking Remover on it. It's better than changing the marking system completely and without warning.

That doesn't seem like a good reason to non support a thread asking for better communication. Frankly it's that kind of attitude that speaks volumes to me about the absolute disconnect between the game and its players.

And also, that mentality of "uhm, but WHY would you want extra marks?? On a king??" Also has to stop. This thread is not about why. This thread is not about how. This thread is about things being changed that are really fucking people and nobody is thinking twice about letting anyone know.

Let me also add that, even if YOU PERSONALLY did not pay for GB with money, SOMEONE did. Somewhere along the line a person pulled out their wallet to bring that currency into the game. And to have people wasting their premium currency that they have hard earned on a bag of tricks is highway robbery.

WTF I had no idea about this! I've been trying to breed a multi speckle lion for a while I had no idea it wasn't possible anymore.

I support 100% that it should be changed back, I also agree this needed to be communicated better (or even at all i guess), changing something like this deserved a big announcement and not to be removed silently and given a passing mention on a forum post or left to be figured out by people only when they start getting suspicious after spending too much time and money with no result.

I didn't put real money into my project but knowing it's not even possible anymore really bums me out, multi marks are fun. thanks for bringing this to peoples attention with this topic.

Definitely support! I'm not a marking breeder but I get where everyone is coming from. . I know the staff have their hands full and the updates they do are amazing but there has been a few things recently that have bothered me a bit. . Especially certain changes with not much or no explanation. . I hope it gets sorted for the markings breeders.

I agree 100% and offered my support, for what it's worth. I personally do not breed for multiple of the same marking, but I have friends that do and it's pretty shitty that it can't happen. A friend has multiple Red and Blue laces on her king to make him a 14 lace boy, but it negates the ability for that mark to pass from multiple slots, which is crappy on so many levels.
To everyone who is judging the people here for breeding multiple of the same marks- who cares? It's their *choice*, not yours. That's like telling someone that they can't believe in one thing just because you don't believe in it. I breed multi-nimravus lions. If someone comes to me and says that I *can't* breed multi-nim lions just because they don't like how it looks, that wouldn't be fair. That's why I'm supporting this thread- because the ability was taken away from some players.

Damn, now I feel really bad for the people breeding Feline 7 Silvers in slot 2 to my king with the marking in slot 5; I agree that it's a real low blow that this was done under the cover of darkness, so to speak.

Lioden is a game that advertises itself as a sim where you can run your pride as you wish it, breeding for the best cubs being part of that, whatever that definition means to you. To tweak anything that influences breeding without giving users a head's up is shady; there's always someone with a project that related to any given variable [stats, muties, rosettes, hepta/etc X mark kings, heritage, hard mode etc].

Though they may have the right to tweak things without telling us in their TOS, it's disrespectful to the members who put time, money and thought into this game. For a team that usually gives us clear updates weekly, this sudden move is probably going to hurt the trust the community has in the higher-ups. I, for one, know I'm iffy on spending a lot of money to get GB/Somatic or Pied apps come November if I know the staff could suddenly change how they pass to cubs.

News posts are the system staff has of communicating changes. You act like they never tell us anything and we need an entirely separate section, but informing members of changes to the website is literally the purpose of the News section.

They also have no obligation to tell us about any background changes, sorry. This isn't a government it's a private business.
