Ironically, before the Hyena markings were released, I had the strange idea of creating a Hyena-themed mane. Then bam, along came the hyena markings, and I was like - dude - perfect opportunity? Maybe! I'm relying heavily on people having good imaginations, and being able to picture this drawn fantastically by Xylax - rather than the poorly rendered version you see here, as drawn by me x'D   *with Hyena Heavy  *with Hyena Scace  *with both Hyena marks And I was thinking, in terms of the way mane genetics work now, that perhaps it could be a special 'combination' mane that is produced via Crested and Katanga. That would be optional, of course. Thoughts, ideas, suggestions? Bring them, please :'D If you don't like it, don't be afraid to say! I'd love to know why you don't support :) |

Imagine if the only "mane" was the crest running from his head to his back, and the rest of the mane were like some female mane mutations where there is a fluffier fur, but retains the coloring of the base and its markings instead of the mane base and mane markings :o 0 players like this post! @Berenos; Ironically, I had a similar path of thought when I originally thought of a Hyena mane.. But then I thought it might make things a little more complicated with it being a separate mutation and all that, and I'm just too lazy for too much ind-depth thought on the mechanics of how it would be bred, and all that fancy stuff. Plus, I felt like maybe people might be more open to it as a mane than a mutation. Of course, I'm always open to heading in another direction with it, and perhaps looking at the mutation option, if this fails with a flop xD! @GMM; Isn't it?! XD! But the weird thing is, the more you look at it, the more it kind of grows on you.. Even if it makes the ears look ginormous! 0 players like this post! Like? |

That could work, too ;'D I was just trying to keep it close to the way a mane hyena's fur falls along its' body :'D But open to any and all suggestions on this mane; and obviously Xylax would do a far better version than my mock up xD 1 player likes this post! Like? |

HECK YES Okay but adding onto things, if this wasn't an official mane base thing, what if it was some sort of male mutation like the female manes? We have maneless males (which honestly kinda look weird imo) and likely overgrown manes as a mutation, the males could have a mane shape separate from this genetics-wise but it could be a weird mutation on its own. Naturally, I would prefer the mane itself, but just an idea in case we need variation. Otherwise, I'd easily see this with a slightly different adol form as well, as Tsavo has. 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Adamymous; Thanks so much for your input! I touched lightly on the mutation thing when Berenos mentioned it earlier; I think it could definitely be an alternative path if it isn't accepted as a mane design :3 I'll likely look into that, if this happens to go nowhere - so thanks so much for a second confirmation on a mutation mane :D And I also agree; a separate adol version would be neat; there aren't enough :D 0 players like this post! Oh, I said only the mutation bit to explain myself better, I think it'd be interesting to have a mane different like that, even if it'd probably mean it'd need more work to adapt the body markings on top of the manes, but I wouldn't be oposed to another male mane mutation, maneless is kind of lonely. 0 players like this post!
