✪ Summary:

The Branch sales listings are a bit messy, aren't they? Depending on the item, sometimes it can make it a bit more tedious to get from items listed for Silver Beetles to items listed for Gold Beetles. A good number of items listed as "99999 SB" are listed by accounts that are listed as INACTIVE, which means that they can neither gather the funds from them, nor log in to remove them. In addition, many common items - such as carcasses - frequently clog up the listings with 99999 SB price listings.

Here's just a few examples.

Giant Tortioses

Lion Scrotums

Yohimbe Barks

I probably don't need to post more examples. Now, while you might be able to just utilize this little diddy...

d155267b1a401547c682f60cc00bffdf.png

... sometimes you don't really know what things are currently selling for and that's what you're checking.

Regardless, this is less about "convenience" and more that there's no real reason for items that are either unpriced, or that are attached to inaccessible accounts to be listed, you know?

Also, sometimes folks forget to set prices, or dunno what they wanna set it to, and that's okay! The listings can be hidden until they do.

✪ What I Am Proposing:

[+] That Branch Listings by users whose accounts are currently listed as INACTIVE - either through being banned, requested to be "soft closed", or otherwise requiring re-activation codes - be HIDDEN or otherwise the items removed from listings and returned to the Hoard.

[+] In addition, Rabbity (#97323) raises a good point. With certain items available in game, it is possible for an item that sells normally for well over 100 GB to be bought for 99999 SB - roughly 84 GB - to be bought out for that kind of price if someone actually had that SB or was determined enough.

[+] Additionally, it would be more intuitive to make the default price set to zero SB and zero GB and not show up at all until a price is entered. This would completely eliminate inactive listings, and additionally would allow players to keep things on their branches until they're ready to price them, such as things chosen to be sold during certain months when prices are highest, and not be lost in "buried".

If you don't support, I'd like to know why. I appreciate constructive criticism over a simple "no".

Great tits - same thing. I visited every seller's den thinking of messaging them but turns out they are inactive for years.

I always thought the whole "pricing at 99999 SB default" thing was a bit bogus. I mean, even at it's lowest GB sells for about 1,200 SB. So 99999 SB = 84 GB. So if you put something rare up that typically sells for MORE than 84 GB, someone with the SB funds could technically swoop up and snag it before the price is updated. Why not set things to default to 99999 GB instead? Then it would end up listed at the end of the branch search and would be out of the way of serious sellers/buyers. Plus if you forget to price it, then oh well it just sits there until you remember because nobody is going to buy something for almost 100k GB

Rabbity (#97323) :: Super valid point, especially with Interstellar App now a thing. I agree with things being set to 99999 GB. I'm gunna tack that into the main post. However, I'd still super like to clear out the listings attached to inactive accounts. Oof.

Oh I like that idea as well :) It'll fix the existing listings, but changing the default listing will help with future listings immediately vs. having to wait for an account to go inactive, which takes a year I think?

Rabbity (#97323) :: Yup, with any luck maybe it'll be two changes implemented at once to totally clean this up. I threw them up there together. Fingers crossed!

Perhaps a message could be sent to users who didnt set prices asking them to review their branch prices. Of course this wouldn’t matter for inactive users, but for someone who forgot to change the price from 99999 SB this might help. :)

Limerence (#21960) :: Would be pretty simple for players to do that on their own. The number of folks with 99999 listings who are actually active compared to those with inactive accounts seems pretty low. I imagine if it wound up getting to be a problem where it was active accounts with that, maybe it could be suggested. But you never know, an active player might just not list things because something came up or maybe they don't know how to list it yet, or any number of reasons. Probably would be a bit of a nuisance, I'd feel.

Easy support here. Of course inactive account items should be returned to hoard or just not show to not mess up active players

I would personally prefer it if branch items also expire after 30 days like trades (would force me to reprice, lmao) or they just start at 0gb and 0sb like studs & they will remain "invisible" until priced.

either way, I support tho.

Lioden is the only game I know of that sets a default price for items on sale. I would prefer it had the default set to 0 and only put it up for sale if the player entered a price. Support from me!

As of 6/27/2019, this is what the Yohimbe Barks listing looks like:

TC trades only last 30 days now, maybe have branches set to revert to hoards after the 30 day mark?

Supported. Many times I have had to contact user and ask how much they would sell in gb price for them only to tell me they forgot it was there. This is a very good suggestion.
