I wasn't sure exactly where to post this, but I'm assuming it would be mutation suggestions since it would involve them.

As far as I know, there are genes involved in lioden, but not super extensively? I don't think this would be that much more extensive, but I also don't know exactly how the coding works on here, haha.

Anyways, what if the offspring of "mutated" lions (who did not inherit the trait) still carried the gene? This is maybe less so for ferus and tigons and such, because I think that's somewhat illogical, but for the mane mutations and vitiligo, etc.., perhaps a lion who did not have the trait visible and are considered to not be mutated can still pass it down to their offspring?

It would be incredibly low though, and very rare, but I thought that would be another interesting way to inherit them aside from random or selective breeding with lions who DO present the traits.

Edit: I was thinking it would be somewhat inspired by hidden markings too? Say your lion is born but is considered not mutated, perhaps there is a notification that still alerts you, saying that there is a mutation hidden on this lion, making them a carrier. Not all lions out of the same litter absolutely need to be carriers though, so for example maybe only one cub out of a litter of six carries the mutated genes of one (or both) of the parents.

The likelihood of the lions passing down the traits would still be rare, but perhaps less rare than it would be if it were random.

this is a nice idea but it sounds like it would be a lot of work for the coders to impliment
i still support it tho

This is an interesting concept *but* I believe that it is way too late to implement something like that in-game. This would be better for Wolvden , and I do believe it is being added there?

Yeah, I can't see this happening.
