Let the school year begin!

The ancient bell tower at the center of the island chimed loudly with it's familiar tune. It was a promising time. New students what fun! Well... Hopefully. Chariots, familiars, and anything that could fly would land on the gravel stone that led to the marble steps of the school. It was hard to believe it was a school and not a giant ancient castle, but, yet, it was.

With the bell's chime slowly fading away, the Satyr stood on the steps of the school. Arms behind his back, sharp mint blue eyes, and with his unnatural height, Cal looked a bit... Unwelcoming. The only small sign of kindness was the small faint smile on his face. Well, a forced one. His sister beside him, who looked just like him but shorter, a wider smile, and one antler, seemed to be more promising in the welcome department. This was the beginning!

The principle, Neve was making her way to the Student Hall. There, she would make her speech to start the school year. Honestly, she was rather excited to see those who had been chosen for the year. New students meant new potential. And, hopefully, the students would do their best. Her boots clicked down the wooden floored halls and the tall walls. The empty hallways were rather odd. Good thing students would soon roam the place.

The fae gazed warily at the building that loomed before him. Oh, how new places excited and terrified him at the same time. His eyes fixed upon the door as he debated on whether he should simply enter or wait for his sibling. He's always late to everything, he thought with a slow, outward sigh, folding his arms loosely over his slim chest. As much as he'd love to pretend to know what he was doing, this was the first time he'd ever be attending a real school, having been home-schooled during all of his prior years, as was customary for faes. He wished he could say that his parents were becoming more open-minded by letting him follow his brother, but in reality it was likely because they believed they'd brainwashed him into thinking there was no such thing was dreams or independent thought and thus being around other people was no longer dangerous to the obsequiousness of their protege. Whatever the case may be, he and his three brain cells were finally here where they supposedly belonged.
Apparently too far gone into his own head, Indigo barely noticed that a familiar face had stepped into his peripheral until that near-chastising baritone drew him out of his thoughts.

"You're never going to make friends if you sit there scowling all the time." The half-breed chuckled as his little brother rolled his eyes at his jest. They looked barely anything alike- if their mother wasn't standing between them, you'd likely never guess they were related.
"Oh yes, because I'm sure you have plenty of friends," Indigo sneered, to which Vitalis scoffed and waved his hand dismissively before combing it through the younger's soft blond locks, smoothing out some rebellious tufts.
"I assure you no one here is worth befriending, but I know you'd die if you weren't the center of attention at all times." Vitalis patted his brother's head, nearly ruining everything he'd fixed, before ushering the smaller lad towards the front doors. As much as he'd love to sit here making fun of the idiot he hadn't seen for around three years now, there were more important matters at had. The relentless bullying could wait until after the headmaster's speech.

Amidst the duo's teasing, Indigo's eyes flicked over the crowd, curious to see which creatures he was going to school with. So many different beasts. It was odd coming from such a closed-off community and transitioning into one with such a diverse population, but he was certainly eager to meet these people.
His gaze fell upon another duo. Judging by their appearances he assumed they were twins- or siblings, at least. He offered the girl a smile and a polite wave in greeting, more or less because the male didn't look to be particularly sociable so why bother trying to be friendly to him, before he allowed his brother to push him into what he assumed was the Student Hall.

The older didn't exactly pay much attention to those around him and his sibling. In the years that he'd been here, he rarely socialized and most of the students he'd gotten close to had left already. He was here to learn, not make friends, but he supposed now that his far too extroverted brother was here, he supposed he'd have to make some exceptions if he was going to keep a close eye on him without making any situations awkward.
Vitalis pushed the younger into the designated piece of the building. "Try to sit still for once. This won't take long," he uttered as he guided him into one of the corners of the room. Obviously a place nearer to the front would be preferable, but he knew Indigo had the attention span of a dead gnat so it was best just to stay out of the way students who actually cared. For now, at least.
