Casimir wanted to reply that Aspen didn’t need help and would be fine cleaning up everything but he remembered that Aspen was Nicola’s roommate and was not Gwen, so he walked over and began packing up as well.

Aspen looked momentarily suprised then just kept packing up boxes, not really saying much to Nicola or Casimir. Nicola kept getting distracted with pretty ornaments or asking Aspen if they could keep them out for a few more days.

Gwen walked into the living room, flopping dramatically on the couch, and glared at Casimir and Nicola. Aspen just rolled his eyes and kept packing up ornaments.

Ash wandered into the library, squinting his eyes at all the books, "Huh, this isn't the computer lab..." He looked around and spotted Kev, and being the socially awkward introvert that he is, he just quietly stood there, staring at him.

"Lazy..." Casimir muttered under his breath.

Kev, also a socially awkward introvert, sensed that Ash was staring at him and just tightly clutched the book he was reading. In his mind he was begging for Ash to go away peacefully.

Gwen sat up sharply, her fox ears twitching, "What did you say?" she hissed.

Ash cautiously edged closer, standing at the opposite side of the table as Kev, "So... are you like, an owl or something?" he asked bluntly.

"I said you're lazy," Casimir straightened up from the storage boxes and glared at Gwen.

"...Y-yes..." Kev mumbled, looking like he wanted to hide himself in the book. He didn't look up at Ash at all.

"I mean he's not wrong..." Aspen muttered. Gwen glared at the two as she stood up and stalked towards them, "At least I'm not worthless like all humans are."

Ash reached out and poked one of Kev's wings, "Are you sure you're not just a griffin or something? I mean your eyes are a little weird but besides that, I couldn't really tell..."

"Where's that coming from? Have you even seen another human other than me before?" Casimir scoffed.

"I'm p-pretty sure..." Kev flinched and pulled back his wing from Ash when it was poked. He pulled his wings close in a sort of defensive manner.

"I have actually, whenever our kitsune tribe conferences with the outside world only the highest-ranked among us get to go, which includes me, and there have been humans there before. All of them seem weak and pathetic though, like you."

"Does that mean you're from Regium or Daria then?" Ash asked, his eyes narrowing and his voice taking on a defensive tone.

"You? At conferences? Are you sure you weren't there to just bring tea to the actually high-ranked kitsunes?" Casimir raised an eyebrow. "And that's just your personal opinion, which doesn't matter at all."

"Regium," Kev answered quietly. "B-But it sh-shouldn't matter."

Gwen crossed her arms, "You see my tail and ears? It takes a powerful kitsune to have a form like this." Aspen put away another ornament then muttered, "It takes a lot of energy to maintain that form too so really you're just showing off at the expense of yourself..."

Ash relaxed, "Well it's just good to know anyway, my parents have told me that some of the people from Daria are truly evil, and I just want to be prepared in case the person from Daria that I meet is one of those evil guys."
