• APPEARANCE •
A giant ball of fluff. Denahi is exceptionally large, reaching nearly 30 inches at the shoulder and weighing in around 100 pounds. His frame is solid and heavy; he's a dog more than meant for his role, bred for strength and stamina. His head is wide, and his broad muzzle ends in a liver-colored nose. His face is almost wolfish despite his snout not being quite as tapered as a true wolf, his almond-shaped eyes a vibrant shade of amber. His ears are small and flopped, which has led to some confusion among both humans and fellow Malamutes.

He has snowshoe type paws, large with rough pads and blunt rust colored claws that help him move over snow without sinking. His thick, double layered coat is a deep reddish-orange, turning to more of a cream color around his throat and along the underside of his bushy, curled tail while his muzzle, legs, chest, underbelly, and paws are white. Two reddish marks break up the paleness of his face, located on each side of the muzzle beside each eye. Claw marks mar his muzzle and beneath the fur on his neck, shoulders and back there are more scars that cannot be seen.

• PERSONALITY •
Kindly and empathetic, Denahi is always willing to lend a paw to those in need, a shoulder to lean on, or at the very least an ear to listen. It would be uncommon to see this guy without a smile on his face or a warm glow in his eyes, and he appears to have an almost endless supply of optimism. He isn't quick to fight, certainly having the strength to push others around, but often chooses compromise over bloodshed. Denahi would rather settle scores without resorting to violence if he can help it.

An extrovert to the extreme, he appears to enjoy being around others; dogs, or otherwise, and rarely takes time to himself. Denahi is highly dedicated to both his owner and the rest of the team as a whole and considers time with them well spent and never a waste. He always does his best to be considerate of others and will be the first to apologize after an argument, as even he doesn't have an unending well of patience, though it does appear to take quite a while to find the bottom.

• HISTORY •
Denahi's life has been a bit of a roller-coaster thus far, though if you asked him he would tell you it hasn't been all that unpleasant. He was born to a breeder in California of all places where he was sold as a pet quality dog. Once he grew too large and boisterous for his under-prepared owners to handle he was dropped off at the local shelter at six months old, much to the dismay of their daughter and Denahi himself. Months past and while Denahi became a quick favorite among the staff, he was still without home at a year old.

He was taken in by a husky and malamute specific rescue that he remained with for a few more months before being adopted by a couple up in Washington that eventually moved to Alaska, one of them being an environmental researcher. Though he had a late start he was trained to pull a sled as the town they moved to was fairly rural and most travelling was done via snow mobile or sled dogs. The team was fairly small, just himself and three other dogs. Denahi found himself delighted to be put to work and it certainly helped calm him down.

Unfortunately, even that came to an untimely end. The team disturbed a grizzly and her cubs out on a run, quickly leading to the violent end of the team's lead dog and Denahi being near fatally injured himself. His owner was forced to leave him to fend for himself and he likely would've perished if he wasn't discovered by his current owner and their team. Though he was close to death they brought him back to the nearest village and did would they could for him. Perhaps by some miracle he manged to survive and once fully healed replaced the last wheel dog when she retired.

For whatever reason, his ears never pricked up like those of the typical Malamute as he aged, perhaps hinting his bloodline isn't entirely pure. His size seems to confirm this theory as well considering he has grown much larger than he should have.

No-nonsense and proud, Wander is a dog who has fought many battles in her life. Her wolf ancestry gives her a ferocity and love for pack life that many dogs seem to lack, and she’s usually determined to drill the same love into other dogs.

She is very loyal, almost to the point of obsession, but she doesn’t trust most humans. The pack is what’s important to her, not the human who cracks a whip and yells. A wolf in her ancestry could be the cause, but motherhood has also taught her loyalty.

Wander is not one for semantics or blathering - she says what she wants, when she wants, and doesn’t mince any words when she does it. Small talk with her is almost nonexistent, and she doesn’t often give praise. She’s a good leader, but lying is not her strong suit.

Wander is a large, fairly long-furred dog. A Borzoi in her ancestry gives her fur a distinct curl to it, which makes it striking but difficult to groom. The fur in question is gray flecked with black, which is most prominent on her ears, tail, and paws. The distinctive white mask of the Siberian Husky is visible on her face. Multiple scars cross her fur, the result of a full life marked by many fights for dominance. Her eyes are icy blue with darker flecks.

H I S T O R Y
Wander was born a sled dog, trained from an early age to identify commands and pull weight. When she was rather young, only two years old, though, she ran away from her owner, escaping into a northern forest. Inexperienced and alone, she would have died if not for a wolf, Weysh, who saved her. Despite an age difference, the two became mates.

Wander had her pups in midwinter, and two out of the four died. Weysh was heartbroken and angered, and as soon as the pups were weaned he stole them and drove her away. Wander soon returned to civilization, groveling her way into a human’s heart and becoming part of her current team.

Arman is an average-sized dog at 26 inches, weighing in around 51 pounds. His build is slender, muscular and compact, exuding both strength and grace. His think, double-layered coat is predominately black with grayish tipped guard hairs; white fur covering the lower half of his muzzle, throat, chest, underbelly, paws, up along the insides of his legs, the underside of his curled tail, across the shoulders and creating a line down the middle of his face.

His oval-shaped eyes are a striking shade of pale blue and his head is wedge-shaped with a straight, pointy muzzle that ends in a dark nose and a broad skull, alluding to an almost wolfish appearance. His pricked ears are well-furred and round out at the tip, meant to prevent heat loss, though they are notably larger than they should be. Several healed over scars part the fur around his shoulders and face.

• PERSONALITY •
Arman has always been a quiet canine, his moods seeming to change with the wind. One day could be spent contently in the company of teammates while the next he’ll prove so volatile no dog will want to be around him. He's a proficient enough swing dog with a reserved nature but is never afraid to speak his mind or issue out orders. He appears to be morally ambiguous, never seeing things as solely black and white (pun intended), always looking for the varying shades of gray in-between.

He can be more open and playful in the presence of close friends but otherwise is somewhat unsociable. Not much appears to spook the fellow, but he's so claustrophobic he can't sleep within enclosed spaces. He’s infamous for his dry sense of humor and deadpan expressions, likely coming across as dreary and dull. Arman certainly isn’t the most exciting canine around, but serves his team well and appears capable of doing what needs to be done. His typically calm demeanor masks a far more ingrained ferocity, one the team has yet to see.

• HISTORY •
Arman was born and raised in a rural Russian town, spending the majority of his years with the same owner and team. It was far from an easy life, roughing out a meager existence with his teammates and owner, rarely receiving vet care for injuries or illnesses which thankfully cleared up on their own with some home care. During the winter he was the lead dog on his owner's sled team, and during the summer he helped that same owner bring down wild game.

Arman's owner already lived an impoverished life, but when times got even harder he sold off the oldest members of his team, Arman being one such dog. He passed hands a few times before being imported to the US and brought in with his current team. Initially, there were some issues between him and the lead dog, as Arman was used to being the one issuing out orders and receiving a demotion was a bruise on his pride, but eventually the grizzled fellow adjusted to his new role and there are few squabbles in the present.
